I wasn't blown away by the :apple:Watch, but I certainly will check it out when it is released. I hope that they will be able to monitor blood pressure and glucose on future models.

Honestly I was just hoping for proper GPS in the :apple: watch so I wouldn't have to run with my phone. It looks like I'll be soon buying a Garmin watch for my running, and cary along my iPod nano for my music.

Remember how you felt the first time you held the original iPhone. The first time you touched the interface, literally? Yeah, so does Samsung. I don't doubt they had employees waiting in Apple lines to buy a few.

I was at a party and woman across the table had one, and was handing it around the table. It was like the crown jewels or something. Everyone drooling. Soon as I held it, I had one within 48 hours. Maybe if I had a few hundred million to spend, I would have created a clone of that phone and sold it too.

What's laughable about all of this is how no Samsung product has ever brought down Verzion, AT&T, T-mobile's website when preorders opened.

Crushing web servers with preorder demand is the one thing Samsung can never copy from an Apple product.

Don’t read too much into it. Part of the demand for Apple products is artificial. Remember AAPL are supposed to have the worlds best logistics/Supply chain man yet there always seems to be a shortage - this I’m pretty sure is deliberate on the part of Apple. People know this and will clamour to guarantee theirs.

Think about it, when fuel was short what happened? The price went up and people panicked and queued.
People are fickle nowadays, and I can’t believe it is so important to have the latest smartphone immediately? Yet they’ll queue for days to get it.

I think battery life may be limiting including some functions on the watch. Plus they designed the :apple:Watch primarily as an accessory to the iPhone, not a stand alone device. Their goal is for people to own both.

What ever Samsung... I've used your Note and it was a nightmare. AND do we need to bring up what your phones looked like before the original iPhone was introduced...hmmm? So who is copying whom?

btw this just shows how lacking in creativity you are... thanks for making a commercial about the iPhone 6.

Being an iPhone 3-3gs-4 to Note 2-3 to iPhone 6 Plus guy, I have no illusions that Apple here IS following Samsung with the phablet. Deny it all you want, but it was the Samsung that created the 5.5"+ market.

I was one of those crazy Apple customers that actually didn't want to be told what was good for me, and I wanted a phone large enough to serve as a small tablet. Took Apple few years and they FINALLY listened. Good to be back, but I know who to thank for my 6 Plus.

That aside, Samsung commercials are usually crap these days, and this one is no exception. Please do not compare it to the Mac vs PC series, not in the same ballpark. Those were some of my favorite tech commercials at the time and still are to this day.

Apple lead the way with iphone and ipad, basically forcing the 6" market. Clearly it seems to have been a mistake by jobs which let the others in.

Like you I know many who will now switch to apple. The 6+ is a genuine phone and tablet replacement, and the 1080p display is what the market is yelling for, even if the dpi does seem unnecessary.

You would think that Samsung would have more to demo as better if they had 3 years lead. A bit of multitasking doesn't cut it. If it did the note would outsell the iphone already.

IMO Samsung are desperate - they now face more direct competition. Apple has crushed them in direct competition.

Also the reviews and benchmarks are likly to make Samsung look a joke thanks to the a7 and a8 having such great sustained core speed.

... talking about how the company first introduced the Galaxy Note series in 2011 and popularized the "phablet" form factor while calling out Apple for making the similarly sized iPhone 6 Plus three years later.

90% of the people who see that ad are going to think:

"WOW. There's a new, big iPhone. I'd line up to get that!!!!"

Oh, and the other 10% are either Google employees or Fandroids.
And they'll be saying "Damn. I guess it had to happen sooner or later..."

I think I'll hold our for version 2 if I ever decide to buy one.

Ah you're right. I had completely forgotten about that device.

Exactly. So did most people because it didn't sell well. So Samsung didn't even invent the phablet. They just designed the first successful one. Isn't that what Apple did with the smartphone, music player, GUI, and tablet?

That's probably a good idea. Version 2 usually adds what most feel should have been included in version 1. Look how much better the iPad 2 was than the original.

Not really... we all know the G-Note exists and everyone on here is pretty much a tech nerd that prefers Apple over Samsung. Even if MR posted 100 Samsung articles, the general fan base here will say "Apple pwns Samsung" or "Samsung is jealous". While Apple's "attack ads" in the early 2000s were perceived as fun, these Samsung ads as of late just seem a little desperate.

yes really. if the ad did not exist, there wouldn't even be a discussion. guaranteed that many forum members sent out an email saying "check out this ridiculous Samsung ad". those people will forward to other people and so on. Samsung paid money for the ad, and they let people like you carry it on for them. it's brilliant. if the Samsung ads were not effective, Samsung would stop making them.

how quickly you forget Apple's early ads taunting IBM...or perhaps the "I'm a Mac" ads where Apple taunted Windows at a time when Apple's market share for personal computers was pitifully low.

Wreaks of desperation.

Sadly for Samsung its marketing agency is much more creative than the company itself.

:apple:

That's a good point. I have no idea why some people want to buy plastic phone instead of metal phone...

You forgot to say the same about a computer. Oh wait, the original iMac………….(and iPhone 3G/3GS).

This commercial is obviously targeting iphone users and galaxy users. An iphone user will not switch but more than likely be put off by this ad. However, I think the ad is geared to target galaxy users who have been blasted by all the iphone 6 media who are thinking about switching or switching back to the iphone.

I constantly see friends on face book and other social media posting negative things about the iphone. Especially during a new release. I NEVER see iphone users posting negative things about the galaxy. I didn't know there was a galaxy 5. I don't care.
