If Obama had requested this, FBI director Comey, a Republican, would've released a statement against it. It's Trump's absurd claim, so it's really on him to provide the proof, but we all know it came from a nutty Breitbart article.

Catch 22. If they sue, you'll say it's just for money. If they don't, you don't believe them because they didn't sue.
So just to be clear, you believe every bad thing about Bill Clinton, blame Hillary for her husband's behavior, but Trump is a little angel who was just jokin' despite his three marriages, bragging about his sexual conquests on Stern and Access Hollywood, and decades of women coming forward to accuse him.

I disagree. I expect (and hope) these agencies are doing this exact type of work (I wish we lived in a world where it wasn't needed. No one locked any doors and the Nigerian Prince really did just need a loan and would repay it with 1000% interest but we don't). It would be foolish to allow these agencies to not do any research on security, vulnerabilities, cryptography and other nonviolent subversive techniques. I don't see where they are actually doing this to every citizen only they have the capability. Very different things.
BTW: I don't think Google/Apple/Amazon have any obligation to make their job easier and I expect these vulnerabilities to be fixed in quick order.

There is no Catch-22. What I will say is irrelevant. There is a court system that works independently of what I think, and that will judge based on evidence and the law.
If they sue they don't do it because they want me to think well of them - or at least I would hope so - but because they want to see a criminal behind bars. If they are sure that he's a criminal, and don't sue because of what I might say about them, they become enablers.

A case can be both criminal and civil (not in the same court, obviously)
And be assured that if they win the civil case, a line of prosecutors will form to get Trump behind bars.
Wikileaks doesn't 'get' anything. They are GIVEN information when they then publish.
Your assumption which isn't based on any facts is that they were given Trump's tax return and have yet to publish it.
