I got to screen where I put all my details in andclicked send.. No confirmation screen just went back to main screen... Was this your experience? Had no confirmation email yet though :(

I did it so many times (getting increasingly annoyed each time!) that I'm afraid I don't know which one worked. I'm pretty sure that the screen which asks all of your details in standard HTML format (the 'failover' page) doesn't work ... but it might have.

The one I think worked was when I went through the whole proper process with the text response and pressed the final submit button ... (though that one did eventually show me the failover page).

Hope you get an email shortly...

The upgrade site is certainly a lot busier now. I haven't been able to get past the "request update code by txt" page for 30 mins now...

I suspect it will be over the lunch period, may quieten down after 2pm, no that that is likely to assist, other than getting you more frustrated when you think you have got further and it fails!

O2 Customer Service is obscene

After i read all the posts in this forum i'm not even going to try to put my CC info on the O2 website, i simply don't trust them. I'll go to the stores on Saturday afternoon and see which kind of b****hit excuses they can come up with, specially since they are totally ignorant of the product they sell. When i went to buy my girlfriend discounted iPhone 2 months ago i had 3 different replies from 3 different stores about the possibility to upgrade.

I don't understand why I can't buy the iPhone at the Apple store, at least they know the product and there is the "apple experience"...

and one more thing... it looks like there won't be any white option at launch date. Maybe in the following weeks.

I've entered my payment details three times and eventually the O2 site just dumps me back at the "request upgrade code" page...

If there are any O2 employees browsing this site, just to let you know, I have decided I will accept Apple's v2.0 upgrade with delight this Friday on my original O2 8GB 2.5G iPhone and I will buy a 3G iPhone when they are unlocked in probably 4-6 weeks time. I will then revert back to my Vodafone sim and reluctantly pay the remaining 6 months contract payment until I can waive goodbye to O2 entirely.

BTW - could you have the decency to let us all know which team of monkeys built your upgrade site? And a word of advice - DON'T LET THEM NEAR YOUR 3G NETWORK:eek:

What is the matter with me, I need help. Seriously. I must have filled this form in 20 times, even a baby chimp would have figured it out by now & gone back to scratching their....

After six hours I have only managed to put all my items together once and am still unable to get to any sort of checkout

Have just received four upgrade txts but the input box isn't loading

If the page should load which one should I use!?

What are the chances of getting a 16GB instore on Friday? this online ordering jobby seems a bit of a farse.

And as for the pissing O2 banner add underneath all our posts, someone is having a laugh.

How many times can you click it before google stops charging them?

Does anyone else get the feeling that the only people that are having any success with pre-orders are people that are NEW TO O2??

When you think about it... It would make sense for O2 to deliberately give preference to new customers coming from another network, as opposed to existing O2 customers (whether these existing customers have iPhones or not). They already have exisiting customers' money and know they will simply wait it out.

My colleague sitting next to me got right through the order process FIRST TIME and now has his confirmation email!!!!

Wait for it.. he's moving from Vodafone to O2 for the iPhone 3G.

I just don't get the bit on the failed page which says "Remember you can get the same offers as new customers - plus an extra thank you for your loyalty"!!

What is the extra thank you?? It must be a two-fingered salute!

Just filled in O2 upgrade process for 50millionth time :(, this time instead of getting an error or nowhere I got 'Thank you for your order. We are processing this and will contact you if there are any complications with the details you have provided.'

Do this mean its gone through?

Hard work or what??

6 hours and still trying. That's the extra thank you we get...

Upgrade?

How do I know if I can either get an iPhone on Friday? It never crossed my mind that I couldn't, since I'm willing to pay £160 and get another 18 months contract, but now i have some doubts.

I started with O2 last August because I knew they were getting the iPhone and I remember that for the first gen iPhone if you were a customer before 18 September you didn't have to pay extra or something like that. Is it the same for the iPhone3G?

no idea, even when it works it is confusing. you are lucky though, that is as good as you get I think, just have to wait or see if someone else gets some other news!

well done

Complain!

After 51/2 hours of limbo, I just called 02's Upgrade centre as requested by the very helpful error message. After very little help from the poor customer service girl I asked to speak to a supervisor. She said I was the FIRST person to complain! Come on guys!. Ive worked in those places and I tell you nothing happens until people really start complaining. You need to call up and demand action/answers. Take it higher than whoever answers the phone.
02 upgrades: 08001313136
Of course don't bother calling from your iphone cause free phone numbers aren't free with 02!

that one is if you remove the first 0.

Pissed off cannot even begin to explain how annoyed I am right now.

I've been sat here like a ****ing moron for over 6 hours. I am furious.

I've been sent about 100 upgrade codes. The furthest I've got, is to select my package and eventually it failed.

I really am sick and ****ing tired of this. o2 'Existing customers get the same benefits as new customers'. The morons should be taken to court for false advertising.

I am so angry right now, I honestly feel like smashing my iphone up the wall.

to the people that said you can not upgrade in the store on Friday....

'The iPhone 3G will then be available for upgrade from 11th July at 8.02am in any of our O2 high street stores. Any stores in shopping centres will open at their usual times."

at the bottom of the page.....
