No option to select colour there either. Don't want the black one, doesn't match the MacBook :)

Bolt ons are like £7.50 for unlimited texts, £7.50 for unlimited o2 to o2 calls etc with some international options too.

Thanks, since asking the question I've googled around and I suspect by bolt-on they might mean a docking station, like a desktop charger... Those were coming in the box with the old iPhones, maybe now they're accessories... Apple tend to do that sort of thing. The early iPods had chargers and cables, etc... the newer ones came with just a cable and you buy the rest...

Upgrade instore or online

I am taking my chances on Friday in-store - It is a shame there will be no white phones though, my girlfriend really wanted one.

The below is from the O2 site.

"You can upgrade to iPhone 3G online, in one of our high street stores or by calling one of our upgrade advisors."

O2 shop broken now

It is broken now. I had one added to my basket and then it was broken...

Ok. Thanks.

I'll just keep sitting and clicking on "Upgrade online".

To be fair, the link doesn't say "Upgrade online now". I would suggest a nice fancy button with the words "Upgrade online eventually"

There has been a problem with taking your order. We apologise for the inconvenience. Please try again.:mad::mad:

O2 forums

Hi all,

Well, what a great day! Just a quick bit of info that was post on this thread (page 2 i think), i would definitely sign up to the O2 forum page and put down your thoughts. It looks as if there are some O2 "marketing" people watching and posting on there so at least our grevancies shoudl be seen by the people taht can make PAYG available now. I have done this and its only be hassling them we can get want we want, we are the customers in the end!

PS, no i dont work for O2!

i just rang o2 who said their site crashed due to the demand, they said try later or tommorow.

According to the rep they will also be doing upgrades on friday in store in both o2 and apple stores and also over the phone. However its up to you if you want to trust that statment.

Interesting and annoying. Great, so desipte pre-registereing within an hour of the keynote, being there throughout the last 4 weeks in case anything happened, not knowing anything because O2 was silent, it makes no difference because now we have to choose between two risky methods! Either risk the online upgrade (if we can ever get it to work!) and hope it gets delivered on Friday or risk leaving it be and then coming into the shop early on Friday. What's to say that I hold out for the shop only to be told on Friday that they ran out because they sold them all online, or that upgrades are online-only?!

Madness!!! What to do what to do??!!!:(

O2 Payg, Oz

I've just found this link from the O2 forums.

This is a legal route to an unlocked 3g iphone. Note that you have the price for the phoen at the top and then in the small print below you can get the phone unlocked for $80AUD (if locked within the first 6 months, i take it free if you request it after 6 months?)

If you know someone in Oz (thankfully i do, my lovely girlfriend :D ) this is the way forward. Anyway, O2, you've just lost £395 of my money (8gb cost plus unlock):D

I didnt get a text :( I feel so left out! I hope they text us when the order site is back online. Does anyone know if they deliver to work addresses?? There'll be no-one at home on friday for me. Its stupid cos I work 2 doors down from an O2 store, but it looks like its online only for existing iPhone customers

I had the same thing from the customer services girl who took my call. She said I could upgrade my iPhone in store on Friday.

Went round to my local O2 store and they said no way. It had to be done online. Also that they were opening at 8.02 not 7.02.

So it seems O2 really do not know their a**e from their elbow.

Keep clicking the upgrade now button!:(

They (O2) are allowing current customers to end their 18 month contract early. This is a significant benefit, saving me around £280.
I fail to see how this is a "benefit" to the customer given that the condition is that you sign a further 18 month contract, effectively guaranteeing a 27mth contract for them.

How much do you want to bet that their exclusivity deal expires before this 18month period is over? I suspect it will expire this November (1 year anniversary) and therefore O2 are guaranteeing that they'll have you locked in for a 9 months longer than you would otherwise do (since they're the most expensive mobile provider in the UK, you'd definitely go elsewhere if there was actual competition for iPhone consumers...)

I'm very happy with O2, or was until their order system broke... :D
You clearly have far too much money and live in the 1 square hectare of the country that they actually have EDGE coverage for... I love my iPhone but the provider (O2) is overpriced rubbish.
