I give up.
Nowhere to enter the upgrade code either (i guess thats after the CC bit).

The code box appears on the very first srceen, once they have succesfully sent it to you. This happened for me under explorer after a few attempts. Still havne succesfully got through the order details tho.

It's all a bit silly really- do you think they will be able to help at the o2 store at all?

Something equally as frakin ridiculous is when I finally got to the payment page this time..... they asked me for an ISSUE NUMBER!!!!! Issue numbers were phased out on new Switch/Maestro cards 2 whole years ago!!!!

I just phoned my bank to see if I could get an issue number from my records but they said it couldn't be done. I am SLIGHTLY urined off!!

Some Maestro cards still have issue numbers (mine does). If it doesn't, you just put your valid from date in.

Meh. Apart from playing with GPS I've decided to take the sage route and get it instore in week or so when they've sorted things out. It'll be good for the soul.

I called the number given and was on hold for 8 minutes to be told all their systems were down and I would have to call back later.... hahaha. This makes me laugh.

I got the same

Been waiting around for this, then had the server go down mid order, and to make things worse it seems that carphone warehouse will be sending me an email saying they can't match demand too.

Did anyone put in all their details only to have to put them all in again on another sheet, before being booted off the server. I am surprised they didn't make me do a jig, 2 handstands and a cartwheel before telling me where to go.

I suspect they have had limited numbers online to allow a sell out, and make all us go wait in line on Friday, just so the local press can come and film us lining up like a tribe of knuckle dragging sub monkeys and prod us with microphones.

Most upset in York

Hopefully the "on-line shop" is working at 0:00am on Friday, as I will be working nightshift. No lining up, just hop on line and order.

I don't know if the made a mistake with the price $150.00 USD ($199NZD) for the 8Gb. Apple products are usually 50% more in NZ not 25% less!

We'll be screwed by the plans though (as we are always are in NZ) expect about 50-60 per month for only 200mb (with calls/texts).

Mind you I was advised by Vodafone 2 weeks ago when I was going to change the plan on my Nokia to "wait a few weeks" as they are re-structuring their plans and I would save money by waiting. Hope this applies to the iPhone.

hey dude, I'm in York too :) Still waiting to see if carphone warehouse send me a rejected email.

The site is down again. Someone should be sacked for this farce.

Are you kidding? This will be all over the tech sites, may even make the mainstream. Suddenly the new iPhone is so popular it sold out before it was even available and so many people were trying to get one it took down the web site.

You can't pay for publicity like that.

just spoke to my local O2 store & they said they will NOT upgrade existing customers on friday. The guy said he was 100% sure - No in-store upgrade!!

I dont know.. If you dont pay for decent server capacity then you get this publicity... all it takes is for one journalist to show it in a negative way for this to go from good publicity to bad publicity. And not all publicity is good publicity!

just got my email

Just got my email.

Unsure if that is a stock email because we are preordering, will give them a ring. I think I will have to bite the bullet and wait out the surge, no way do I want to be seen waiting in line 6 am.

Seriously they must have had very few available online.

Well that link to the AJAX bit of the site is still working so its sending upgrade codes out very quickly but the page you put the code it refuses to load so not much good.

little bit hacked off with this now

Is there any news on whether we can pre-order from the o2 shops like rumoured last week. Also will o2 deliver to a work address with the iphone for new customers, just in case they get any more bak in stock
