LOL, I think thats the college MBA, not the Apple MBA ;)

its gold plated lol.

he means the degree masters business admin. which in this economy wont show much ROI unless its from harvard :p

Ahhhh. See having an MBA I have to say that is why I have been so adamant in NOT using it as a way to state which computer I have. You'll see me write MB Air or Air but never MBA. I thought I was very much alone on that one. But if you did pay $150k for your MBA then you still got hosed as I believe you'd be talked about a Harvard MBA, which last I checked was about $150k for 2 years. ;)

Harvard is about $75k a year I believe with room and board. There are little costs outside room and board that you can skirt. No matter your grades having a Harvard MBA pretty much opens quite a few doors for you. If I could have afforded it and had I worked slightly harder to pull off a GPA over 3.75 in college I would not have minded going to such a school. For me it was more about the concentration over the name on the door. I wanted the degree but I didn't want to be miserable while working for it.

Anyway sorry to hijack the thread, it was really about the cost of an MB Air a few posts up. ;)

an MBA that doesnt come from a top 10 school is next to worthless. any Ivy is gonna run over 100k. only columbia harvard or yale are really worth it. maybe penn or princeton too.

my MBA, actually an Executive MBA was $150K from Columbia Business School (ranked I think 4th when I went) but that was with all the dodads, trips, hotels, etc.

Executive MBA is sponsored by an employer so I didn't pay anything, my job paid for it.

How this has anything to do with $349 Intel SSD's from newegg, dunno :)

wharton? stern? not worth it? :(

i want to pick up one of these puppies, but man they are $$$$.

So, basically, I should just buy 4GB for my new MBP and wait out the SSD. Gotcha.

Definitely get the 4gb ram. The ssd's will come down for sure. I won't pay more than 250 for a 80gb out of principle.

No problem waiting a few more weeks.

Wharton is worth it but NYU Stern probably isn't. I chose Columbia over NYU and no regrets.

I bought this version I have to remove the Black spacer on top before installing it?

I did. It's not a big deal. Just 4 screws but you may have to find 4 shorter ones to replace them since they are too long once spacer is gone.

Trivial really. I probably could have left it on but there was a wee gap when the MBP cover was reinstalled.

More like the top 20 or so... btw you are missing Stanford...my future school =). Also UCLA MBAs are still quite good even though its ranked 22 or something.

I've seen few HD replacement videos on youtube and this shouldn't be any different in terms of the steps involved, right?

The video is for a 17", but I assume it should be same/similar for my MBP15.

Basically, "keep the black spacer of the SSD and add the black strip from the old HD, connect SATA data and power cable and done". Anything else?

These are great videos:

You can find one for your specific model.

I did not remove the spacer as well...

Although I did not inspect it so thoroughly....the bottom seems to close just fine...the 'trickiest' part is to make sure you remove the four screws (the ones with a T6 head) on the side of the original/stock drive...and replace them on the SSD...make sure your securely insert the bottom two screws to the two orange holes at the bottom part of the drive bay...then securely screw down the black secure clip of the drive....I think OWC has a good video on youtube explaining how to change the HD.

Just placed an order for the 160GB Intel SSD drive (...R5, retail box) for my 15" MBP. Should be here early next week hopefully. In the mean time, I hope that some of the add-on programs, etc become compatible with Snow Leopard, so that I can start a fresh installation of OS with a new SSD.

What's the verdict on the spacer? Keep it or remove it?

Thanks!
