Its an 'iPad Newspaper', for want of a better term, from NewsCorp. News Corp is the parent company to several news outlets, such as FoxNews, The Wall Street Journal, and sundry other papers.

I would love to pay and plan on doing so. Fox News and The Wall Street Journal are both outstanding sources for news. In fact, the WSJ is known for its outstanding record on Apple information. Since you are a newbie, I'll tell you that if The Wall Street Journal (A News Corp / Murdock Company) says something about Apple..... its pretty bankable. Moreover, MacRumors.com links to stores from News Corp's FoxNews and The Wall Street Journal several times a year. In fact, Steve Jobs routinely quotes the NewsCorp's WSJ in his keynotes.

If you really think Fox News is an unbiased and reliable source of news, then you are brainwashed. I am not saying MSNBC is unbiased either, btw.

I am so sick of getting on this site to read up on new Mac/Apple stuff and seeing the comments turn political. It's real simple people, if you don't like Murdoch/Fox, fine. Keep the comments about what they should be about. If you want to get all political and bash the right or the left, go to a political blog and comment there. But shut up about it already. If you don't like Murdoch and/or Fox, don't buy the app.

I have a better option: I won't buy any more Apple products. I have owned at least 25 Apple computers since I bought my first 2c, and currently possess an iBook, a MacBook, and 2 MacBook Pros, plus several iPods, Time Capsule, etc., but that's the end of it. Business decisions are intrinsically political. I tried to overlook it when Jobs chose right wing, spy on American citizens, poor service as their iPhone provider, and vowed I would never buy one until they added a more progressive provider, so what do they do, they add the second most regressive phone company, Verizon, to the list. Now they get married to Rupert Murdoch of Faux News Bill O'Really and Glen cryboy Beck fame. Plus Jobs just made a large contribution to Rahm "*********g retards" Emmanuel notoriety, and Apple ranks last in worker safety among IT companies in China. http://www.ipe.org.cn/En/about/notice_de.aspx?id=9684
Come to think of it, why would Apple outsource all its manufacturing jobs to foreign countries? (Don't bother to explain, the answer is obvious, greed.) All buying decisions are political. My wife and I drive German cars because we don't buy Japanese products on account of the whale and dolphin slaughters, nor American cars because of outsourcing, and, until recently, shoddy workmanship. There is more to being an ethical citizen of the world than playing games on your iPads. Sorry, Apple, you just lost one of your better customers, but I'm sure you'll find a way to more than make it up with more regressive business alliances, and hordes of obliging customers who don't give a rat's posterior about the ethical implications of their consumerism.

Awesome post and well done to you sir!

Needless to say that I agree fully with everything that you've said...

As for people saying don't talk politics in forums - I am sure we wouldn't if editorial of this site didn't provoke it by posting such articles!

"Here is yet another R.M. propaganda filth for your beloved iPad" - and we are suppose to say - "great! lovely!"

I don't think so...

Sooo, one would rather hear narrow-minded hypocritical right-wing propaganda? Not that they've ever let little things like, you know, facts, get in the way of their arguments. But hey, awesome, pay for an app that'll preach hate and lies, outsourcing good jobs, support the rich, etc.... it sounds fantastic!

Funny from a guy who's own rant is made sans facts and is bubbling over with rage and "hate".

I would love to pay and plan on doing so. Fox News and The Wall Street Journal are both outstanding sources for news.

BWahahahahaaaaaa! Thank for the laugh man! I like how you just slid Fox News in there right beside The Wall Street Journal as outstanding sources for news. You were kidding, right? Please tell me you were kidding???

Cue is a pretty common face on the Campus.

All I can say about this event is that it's going to only be about 45min (like the verizon one) and the press will get there questions and then done.

It's not going to be a worthwhile event... The only thing that the daily is going to emphasize is the money aspect. Other News or Article developers on the App Store already provide content that's as on par with what the daily will show.

Anyway, more code to write...

Do you actually work for Apple in Cupertino or do you just like to pretend you do? Guessing from your other posts, I'm pretty confident it's the later and you're more than a little deluded.

Dude...really?

Oh my God...how f'in hypocritical. Company profits = greed....I guess you think the wonderful companies you buy stuff from are only in it to "break even" or give all of their profits to their fellow man....right. give me a break an go back to your pointy headed liberal professors who spew this garbage.

And as for all those bashing Fox, O'Reilly et. al. you're just pissed that there is an outlet who don't believe the incredibly, spoken in their own words, liberal bias in the media. After all, for years the only "News" was from such bastions of objectivity as The New York Slimes, the Clinton News Network, PMSNBC, the LA Slimes, NPR, the BBC, the Washington Post, ABC, CBS, Time and a plethora of Soros backed radical orgs spewing crapola.....face it your "owning" of the dialog is over. As should be in a free country, we now hear all voices. Unlike some intellectually dishonest liberals, I don't cry and whine over what Maddow and Huffington say, I am proud that we live in a place that allows them to say it, and good for them to have a following.

Damn it rdowns, you beat me to it!

Because Murdoch has so much access to the government. RIIGGHTT!!

NBC and it's GE affiliates have a lot of access, and MSNBC proves it.

Fox tells it how it is without the worry about pissing off Obama and the rest of government.

Sorry but it's the republicans that have the money, so Apple is doing the smart thing. Now that more businesses use Apple computers, Apple is smart about appeasing the Republicans. The liberals and others who feel that Apple is abandoning them, you can always use Linux! Let's be honest, Linux would fit with the liberal agenda more than a corporate entity like Apple who is making a ton of profit.

A lot of hating here. I can't help but think of a line in Star Wars. "You want this, don't you? The hate is swelling in you now. Take your Jedi weapon. Use it. I am unarmed. Strike me down with it. Give in to your anger. Blah Blah Blah..."

I've asked this same question before and got no response. I saw Cue 2 times my entire Apple career on campus (actually saw Steve more than I expected though I was told to just act like he wasn't there.) Cafe Macs Pizza is the best btw :)

1. Apple has few if any factory workers in China. They use Foxconn, among others, and it they who determine the working conditions. You are blaming the wrong people; take your remonstrations to Taiwan.

2. The relationship between News Corp and Apple is not new. About the only event / interview that Steve Jobs does, at least for the last five years, is with News Corp employee Walt Mossberg. He also quotes the same News Corp employee in several of his keynotes.

WIth that said, you are correct that buying decisions are based on political opinion.Personally, I will NOT buy a union made vehicle. I still wonder who are are going to go with? Dell? HP?

Yeah because Fox News shot Glifford.

Get real. Hyperbole.

The Unions single handedly destroyed American manufacturing. Case in Point, the Rust Belt.

I'm still getting a kick out of the guy on the previous page actually calling Fox News an "outstanding source of news". Hilarious!

Just because you hate Fox doesn't mean this shouldn't get reported. I dislike fox too but the point in the article is clearly to highlight the new era news distribution that is about to begin. I personally am excited for this and really hope other news organizations embrace the new content distribution methods that are being presented.
