iPhone rumors much ? were tired of the iPhone rumors it's quite annoying. WHERE ARE THE IMACS we know nothing about those can shed some light on that

those were released by apple computers this is a forum for apple the mobile device company.

People over-estimate the extent to which Jobs ran Apple as a one man band. He built a company in his own image and took on people who believe what he believed. There's no reason to think that just because Jobs is gone the culture will change over night.

well its close to a year now and although the stock prices are doing fine would anyone argue its been a great 12 months for them in innovation (most popular word at macrumors these days) and product releases?

the desktops are second rate citizens and it seems to be marginal improvements everywhere.

they even mess with simple features like "save as" and bring the name back but not the function.

to me its like the company has gotten so far up its ass they have no idea whats happening these days.

Samstunk? Really? You're going to be bashing the company that essentially makes all the internals of the iPhone like that? If you hate the company so much, buy an LG.

I know exactly what the component manufacturing sub-group of Samsung are contracted to produce for Apple. The Samsung parent company decided to iClone.
Sammy's innovation is a phone that has perfume... LG....pffft
:apple:

This forum sucks these days. Just a bunch of whining and b**ching over a product that doesn't exist. Complaining about thinness, yet when the new iPad came out people complained because it was ever so slightly thicker and felt a little heavier. If you hate Apple's products so much these days go Android. I'm sure Samsung or HTC would love to have you.

i prefer iOS over android but sometime those samsung phones look pretty slick, pretty sure ill stick with the iphone but it will be a tougher decission than its been in the past

I like the idea of Android but I certainly won't buy another Samsung phone, they just suck at every bit of them. I have tried someone's SIII and the UI for me is totally crap.

I see. So the retina display on the new iPad? Class leading and dominating it's field? Rubbish. OK. And the first laptop with a retina level display? No good? OK. And even then, there is NOTHING that has yet happened that wasn't well in train before Jobs died. You aren't seeing the post Jobs era yet so if you think this stuff is crap then that's nothing to do with Jobs being gone.

And, of course, let's not forget that no one was ever unhappy with a single product while Jobs was alive.

Come on, think for a minute.

The next iPhone won't be getting an A6, it will be getting an underclocked A5X, much like what Apple did with the 4S and 4. In which case, there will be no CPU upgrade in the next iPhone, only a speed bump for the integrated GPU.

My bet is on the one after this, that is the one which will have a true quad-core CPU and possibly 8-core GPU. But I'm just guessing.

There is no way the new iPhone gets the A5X. It's too big, too tall and uses too much power, creating too much heat as a result. Underclocking is like limiting a V8 to 4k RPMs. It's still the wrong engine for the car.

Well said. The endless bitching is getting on my nerves and I already have half of the worst offenders on my ignore list.

It's just me or after Tim Cook said to Mossberg Apple will be more secretive everything about the new iPhone was spit out as crazy???? Damn Cook you trully are the real Leader ! Nobody respect you bro. WTF?

i am not putting it all on jobs´s death. i was contemplating saying that they knew he was dying and should be prepared but didnt include that. all reports from the time said they had products and ideas well into the future.

i wasnt happy with everything when jobs was around but to me it felt more cohesive. their disrespect towards the desktops and various apps certainly didnt start they day he died.

since they already had retina in the iphone then i find it to be natural evolution to get it into the ipad and the mbp.

Way way too many leaks and rumors lately, I think Apple is putting these tidbits out on purpose to try to stop people from buying the Galaxy SIII. No way can Apple have this bad of a security issue all of a sudden.

Why are people surprised by this?

Usually Apple's goal is to make their new model look and feel sleeker than their older model rather than boosting battery time. In addition to details of design, there are two ways that normally work, the first one is making bezel thinner and the second is making the device thinner. The new iPhone design takes both approaches.

Retina Macbook Pro, iPad 2 and the last iPod Touch were good examples. They were similar in design but so much thinner than the previous ones that they instantly felt much sleeker and modern when compared side-by-side.

The new iPad was an interesting exception. Because its tech was literally ahead of its time (the efficiency of the display, chip and battery technology weren't quite ready for such resolution) Apple had to do everything just to match the thickness of the previous generation while keeping the battery life reasonable. In other words, Apple seems to have its minimum standard about the battery life, but one that is met, their designers will do everything to make the device as thin as possible because that's what makes the device feel sleeker.

Also iPhone is challenged because Apple has steadfastly refused to increase iPhone's size. Even with the rumoured bigger display, the size didn't grow all that much and certainly nowhere close to the large sized Android phones. This means there is only so much room for battery.

Personally as a lover of iPod Touch, even though I dislike the new display aspect ratio, I welcome the new form factor. I think the tight unibody will feel great, and like iPod Touch, it'll feel much less cumbersome in my pocket.

If battery life is as good as the iPhone 4 (not 4S), I'll be happy enough.

Batteries aren't magical devices, the 4s has poor battery life to me, and that was acceptable to Apple.

I agree with everyone that said they should have left the phone the same thickness and fitted a bigger Mah battery. No one ever complains about having too much battery life.

I swear to all the Gods of all religions that if this new iPhone isn't a HUGE LEAP forward like the iPhone 4 was to the 3Gs, I will drive to Tim Cook's house, steal all his energy bars, and burn them while listening to the Beatles song 'Revolution.'

its actually having the opposite effect. People are seeing this garbage and are getting other phones, including the S3

Apple Nerds: WAH!

Everyone else in the world: Plenty of power! And if I need more, there are power sources by the zillions around me, even in my car!

Quit being so disgruntled, people! It's going to be great kit!
