Batteries are getting smaller and smaller, more compacted. Apple is pretty much using 2009 tech. I'm sure the new battery will have new chemical cocktail and packed like the new iPad's battery.

Didn't the battery leak last week? From 3.7V/1430mAh/5.3Whr to 3.8V/1440mAh/5.45Wh...

Not packed and no new cocktail.

Even if these parts are legit it's obvious they're not the finished product. We don't know at what stage in the manufacturing process these parts are being leaked. And it seems a bit odd that Apple would intentionally leak unfinished parts as they're never going to look as good as the finished product that goes on sale.

So as I've said many times before I'm reserving judgement until I actually see the finished product.

----------

IF this is all Apple has, they've already lost. We can only hope that all these "leaks" are as fake as last year's 'certainty'. At least the teardrop design excited the public, this won't.

Galaxy SIII is the new hot phone and Apple has to come up with something that LOOKS better than it, now that they're mainstream. Joe Public has to be able to walk into a store and look at Samsung, and realise iPhone is better - on sight alone, because the price will be higher and salespeople get better kickbacks from Samsung.

Foxcon's boast that the next iPhone will blow Samsung out of the water sounded more like Microsoft's "If you think iPhone is great, wait 'till you see Windows Phone" - misguided B.S.

All the new ads on television (Australia) feature Galaxy SIII running the advertiser's Android app. iPhone is so yesterday. These "leaked" parts won't win over the public. Die hards will buy iPhone, but it's not hot anymore - despite all the measured anticipation.

Anticipation for the next iPhone will only translate into sales if it lives up to the public's expectation, which is much higher than the nerds here.

Apple has turned into blockbuster mentality - build expectation, sell a bundle the first weekend and hope the product has got legs to last to the next weekend. I wouldn't have said this in the past, but now that Apple has lost the lead, in the public's imagination, it's come down to this…

Galaxy S III might be the hot new phone, but not because of it's design (other than the big ass screen). When it first came out many of the posters on sites like Engadget panned the design. They hated that it was plastic, thought it looked cheap. Of course Samsung has been feeding the marketing and hype machine (every other commercial on NBC during the Olympics was either a Samsung commercial or an AT&T commercial featuring the Galaxy S III) so no surprise this is the phone to beat. But quite honestly I don't think it will be hard to beat in the design department.

Honestly, that new iPhone, I hope to see some major design differences, and not just a thinner and longer one...

One thing that I'm sure if Jobs was alive, he wouldn't approve, the amount of holes for speaker and mic, it's different, asymmetric and it looks a non-apple product... we are missing Jobs perfectionism.

He also wouldn't have approved the antenna seams being asymmetrically also?

Most everyone thought the iPhone 4 was a fake because of that, yet Steve did approve it.

So to think he would not approve this is seems logical but the reality is he could go against symmetry at times.

I can tell you this is not the new Iphone 5....I have a good source that states otherwise...I have not seen the 5, but can tell you its not over yet.

Leaks = Apple marketing.... Feeling used?

This sort of "marketing" reaches 0.01% of general population and most of those reached are Apple fans in a first place. It's not marketing, it's a sloppy execution of "doubling down on secrecy" promise.

I'll just leave this here. I'm calling fake on iResQ
iresq_shell_dock_2.jpg

It somehow doesn't seem right. Does it?
In China there's hundreds of iphone knockoffs running android. Maybe this is one of them?

Has anyone considered that these parts can be for engineering prototypes of iPhones?

As we know, Apple often times makes several versions of hardware for field testing.

Like last year, the public product can be different than the leaks.

Trust me I do want the larger screen, so I am hoping this is it !!
That's what I'm thinking. Prototypes. Certainly not a finished product. But rather than wait until the phone is released some would rather assume it's going to suck and Apple's already lost the war to Samsung. I guess that's why their stock was up almost 3% today?

Would be cool if Apple released fakes to throw everyone off. However, I still think that what we see is what we are getting.

The ram on the A5X is not in the SOC. So why would Apple waste the space for the bigger A5X + RAM when they can use the smaller A5 with more RAM and not waste space? I still think the iPhone5 will be A5 with more RAM. The iPad mini will be the same as the iPhone5. The iPad4 will be an A6 (or A6X) with IGZO screen and finally the iPhone 5S will be A6.

Current SOC. From Samsung S2 S3 Nexus etc (allegued A5X manufacturer) include 1gb ram on the same die, unused cores don't waste power, do its a no brain for engineers to opt for the cheaper A5X than to ddvelope a new one, has been as from the A4 to reuse the same part across the line whith just clock tweaks and maybe some gpu cores disabled on firmware to save power.

I cited 22nm feature but it's 32nm.

Yep just remember prototypes are what apple is known for. Its funny to hear again about the Samsung/Apple war...Both the S3 and the 4S are great phones. Hands down the apples interface is more fluid and does email and texting better than anyone. Samsung on the other hand has praise for the open platform, bigger screens and improved battery life. After using my buddies S3 it revels the dating of the Iphone screen size. However, this is about to change : >) It wont be near the size of the S3 but will be a noticeable improvement

IPhone design it's a Team effort, not the magical inspiration from a single man, at least the aesthetic of the iPhone are done by Jhonathan Ive, he stand on a recent interview that the next iPhone its his best job yet, so I'm confident on the new iPhone aesthetics .

Those holes don't make me happy. I always get a lot of dirt in my phone (headphone, dock connector) but I can always clean that with some tweezers. But those holes....I think those will be very dirty if this is the real deal.

Is he talking about the new iPhone or the MacBook retina?

I noticed this immediately (go OCD!)... That kind of sloppiness when it comes to design doesn't seem like Apple's M.O. I think this is a fake or at least a mock-up (although I tend to think the shape/form factor is going to have to be close). Maybe all of these "leaks" are manufacturing line rejects that people are pulling out of the "garbage," so-to-speak?

If you were OCD you would notice that the internals are not in straight so its giving the impression that the holes are crooked go have another look.

Simple: NEW MORE POWERFULL SOFTWARE and TRICKS requires MORE CPU/GPU/MEMORY, also is cheaper to re-use the A5X than to design another new.

A new a5X with 22nm process was reported, assumed will power the revised new iPad and the new iPhone, while the same 22nm A5 cpu on the revised iPad2 will power the "iPad mini".

22nm? I wish! Try 32nm.

CNC vs Liquid Metal

All of the unibody parts so far appear to be machined. What is the economics of machining 250 million parts? We haven't seen a part that looks injection molded yet. Just wondering if the current parts are preproduction samples and if they finally got the liquid metal thing working at volume.

My own theory ( might already been said before ). Apple will have three Iphones for fall. (1.) Cheaper Iphone 4S, (2.) Upgraded Iphone 4S taller (the leaked iphone ), and (3.) The next generation iphone :). This is just my theory lol

Last year everyone was hoping for the same, but there are no rumours or leaks this year either to back up your claims, just wishfull thinking. Apple is so large now and parts are built all over the world. There will always be leaks.

I have seen 3 of the recent stories quoted in major newspapers where i live.

It is not I can tell you that

More power to you. :)

Keep in mind, I do not think the leaked design is that bad. It is just not something that makes me want to upgrade my iPhone 4. If it has a A6 then I will be reserving one ASAP, otherwise I will wait for the "iPhone 5S".

Um, it's the headphone jack making it asymmetric... same as all the iPhones and iPods. Do you think Steve would have put two of them on there?
