2011 - "I WANT A 4" SCREEN! I WANT A 4" SCREEN ELSE I'M SWITCHING TO ANDROID!!!"

2012 - 4" iPhone rumors appear "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ITS HORRIBLE, NOOOOOOO I DON'T WANT IT"

LoL! Doesn't matter what Apple does, there will always be those that are never satisfied. :p

Exactly. First thing I'm gonna do is put a case on it anyway.

Same here.

I hope Apple get the message that for many of us, weather sealing, shock resistance, more storage/ram and longer-life batteries are all more appealing than "even thinner".

Exactly! What's the most popular case out there right now I wonder?

Because I see Otterbox EVERYWHERE!!! Pink, Blue, Camo and any other color you can think of.

7.6mm is impressive.

But it doesn't change the fact that this phone is too long/tall.

Exactly. I didn't need a bigger iPhone screen, but if we're getting one, it should grow proportionally, not just get taller! Besides being aesthetically displeasing, it's no help whatsoever in usability. What - I'm going to see 1 or 2 more contacts without having to scroll?? great

This newspaper is from HK and they've been showing information from different forums (Engadget, 9to5 Mac,etc). No way it's first hand news.

You are aware that there is more than one person commenting on Apple rumors?

Or did you just now realize that you quite literally can't please everyone?

Android 4.0+ UI is fine... The ActionBar is a very nice design pattern. Not a fan of Samsung's customization, but even then, the Holo theme must be available to every device from ICS on so it doesn't affect apps.

How has the iPhone home screen changed since iOS 1? Wallpapers.

what exactly int he iOS UI needs changing? Maybe my S3 came with the "hard to use UI pack" cause being different to be different is just silly. Emails have black backgrounds to be cool? I change the background to white, and the text stays white. I can't change it until i drill down the to specific email. Exchange server won't pull my folders. I ask freinds on Android for advice and they each suggest a different application to TRY and make it work. Some even suggesting a $20 mail app? others have replied "oh it works on my HTC... " Hardly helpful.

The only thing I've enjoyed so far on android is "Talk" on gmail, my notifications is bombarded with useless messages from every single app. The alerts are inconsistent. I keep missing calls cause the phone goes into silent when I push power button cause they put the volume down as mute and place it right across with the power switch so when you press power, your palm pushes down on the volume.

hardware wise, great phone. They just need a bit of polish and maybe try it out a bit more before releasing it.

I wish it would improve for once. Use that 18% for battery.

Yes Please! Obsessing over less than 10 mm thick is getting ridiculous. Especially when those .X mm are arriving at the expense of a significant feature --- battery capacity. When the other power usage features are increasing one would think that battery capacity would be at a much greater weighting than it seems to be.

Having to turn *the features that convinced me to purchase the phone originally* to conserve charge for your needs is an obtuse situation.

Ideally, I wouldn't have to charge a phone for a week (remember those days?) though I'd be contented with a full 48 hours.

SIII is 8.6MM
Nexus is 9.8MM
OneX is 8.9MM
Razr is 7.1MM

I'm impressed. 7.6MM is VERY thin. I played with the S3 and immediately said, "Wow, its thin."

Also the One S is almost the same (7.8mm) - useful to give you a feel for what the new iPhone might feel like.

Not sure why everyone keep comparing the new iPhone with the latest android phone out. For me the OS is what separates the iPhone.

Been burned too many times with android....

2/3 of the way to "Thinner. Lighter. Faster."

"Lighter" might be the hardest to achieve depending on what it is packing (I.E. larger battery).

It will likely be lighter, it has a little more than half the glass and the case is aluminum rather than stainless steel. (the incell display may also reduce weight)

Who decided a headphone jack on the bottom was a good idea? I like being able to dock/un-dock my phone without having to unplug my headphones.

I dropped using a dock after they starting charing money for it.
I do see your inconvenience, but not many of us use a dock nowadays.

Actually for connecting it to the car charger and the car stereo at the same time, it is way better to have both connector on the same side.

Also the natural way most people put a phone in their pocket is upside-down, so the socket there is useful.

I want to see this phone.

I've been waiting for Android to bring out a lag-free OS, and Jelly Bean is just that. I love my Nexus 7.

I have the iPhone 4S at the moment, but I'm torn between iPhone 5 and Galaxy S3 (or equivalent that comes out during xmas time). iOS5/6 feels old, and Jelly Bean is looking pretty damn...delicious.

I want Apple to impress me.

I have to disagree with you about jelly bean there. i agree that its much smoother but its far from lag free.and one of my biggest issues with android is that is has no sense of time spacing. Their method is to make every flip or turn or transition as fast s the processor will allow which results in an overly demanding os in terms of processing power. this is actually a source of androids lag because it make certain actions within android happen so fast that they're unpleasant to watch. iOS on the other hand has limits in place to make everything occur at a pleasant yet still be very quick. this plus things like springiness in scrolling or timed deceleration in transitions make it appear much more solid as an os. if you want evidence feel free to delve into the linux kernel in android and the OSX kernel in iOS its all there.

I cant wait! Funny how we laugh at china when new games like world of Warcraft expansions get released early to us, but they fall over heels when we're waiting for a new product like this and they get the opportunity to get it first before the Americans.

Am I the only one that thinks its awesome that China has an Apple-themed newspaper?

This newspaper is from HK and they've been showing information from different forums (Engadget, 9to5 Mac,etc). No way it's first hand news.

This news is from the Taiwan Apple Daily, not the Hong Kong one, and this newspaper is prohibited in China, so don't say it is from China

Also, it calls Apple Daily doesn't mean that it is an Apple-themed newspaper

I think most people would like a BIGGER screen but not many wanted a LONGER screen. In normal, vertical orientation there is very little benefit.

Wider makes the phone require 2 hands for many interactions.

Again, Apple has designed the iPhone with 1 hand use with the thumb being able to cover the screen.

I have friends with the Galaxy S's and even a Note...they always are having to use two hands to do everything on them.

But taller screen doesn't make it easier either. You may find your thumb unable to reach the screen top or bottom too at times.

Might as well make it wider too, now that what's BIGGER means :p

Who cares about the back? On the list of things I look for in a phone, what the back looks like is far, far down on the list.

Correct! There are more important things to look for in a phone but appearance is also important and I think a 2 toned back is uuuugly!

...

So how does this compare to SIII and Nexus? (and dare I say the Razr?)

The razr has a horrid screen and horrid battery life (unless you get the maxx). I just sold my iphone 4 to avoid the depreciation once the new model comes out and bought a galaxy s2x with a 4.5" screen and must say i love it and probobly wont go with the iphone unless there is a really killer feature and a fast jailbreak

If you look closely, the edges are rounded on the new iPhone. The band rounds flush into the back. And most likely the front as well.

THANK YOU for pointing this out! I have seen these pictures 100 times but I never noticed this. Here's hoping that it is way more comfortable than the 4/4S.

Edit: I don't think it is going to feel that much different. :-( It can't show up to my door soon enough.
