How did you do the screen capture in your post just above this one? Also, I have determined that I'm definitely keeping mine as well, and my 3GS is retired to being basically an iPod Touch now. The phone does what I need much more than the iPhone was doing, and I like how programs can integrate themselves completely into other areas of the OS, unlike iPhone OS where it seems every app is "sandboxed" and can't interact with others, unless they are factory installed.
My only two minor issues with my particular N1 are my battery life, and the fact that cut and paste isn't as robust as the iPhone OS. My particular unit's battery life isn't great. I'm getting about 2/3rds of a days usage out of it before it hits 15%. With my current 3GS, I can get through an entire day of the same amount of usage without needing to charge. My first 3GS (I've since had it replaced with a refurb), however, only got about as far as the N1 is getting now. And my particular N1 takes a very long time to charge from 15% to full, usually averaging around 5 hours (on wall charger, not the slower "connected to a computer" way). My 3GS can recharge to full in around 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Overall, I'm not too worried about this with the N1 as I'm always near a charger, with one at home, work, and in the car. And it's nice that it's the same micro USB connection as all my other devices that I carry daily (bluetooth headset and Verizon MiFI). And I might just get the Seidio 3200mah (over twice the factory's battery capacity) super extended battery that they have for the N1.
Regarding the "use in sunlight" issue that some people have with the phone, I myself don't have any more trouble with it than I do currently with my 3GS. A lot of my work involves being outside (golf course management), and even on full brightness, the 3GS's screen is hard for me to read in full sunshine. For me, both can be read in full sunlight, albeit a bit hard to do sometimes with the sun's glare reflecting back at me on the glossy glass screens. And at least with the N1, if you have the settings widget installed to one of your homescreens, it's only 2 taps on the "brightness" button of that to up the screen backlight to 100%, compared to the 3GS, where it's buried under several menus (unless you are jailbroken, and not many people I know are).
