I'm not understanding this recurring complaint. What functionality is lost? I like it MUCH better. Esp the scrolling months.

Since you don't seem like a bad guy trying to get me out of my iphone and tell me to go get an android phone, I will tell you....

From the month view I used to be able to click on a day with a dot (event(s)), and the event(s) would show up at the bottom half or third of the screen.
Therefore, I could go, tap tap ta da tap on different days and see what's going on quickly. I have busy weekend hobby schedule and need to know which Saturday is what and I would just tap tap tap downward on each Saturday and figure out what's on which Saturday. I have different things for different weeks so I would go tap tap tap on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays down the column.
I could this and that tap tap ta da tap.

But no more.... :(

I like iOS 7 calendar that I can skip to a far future date like January of 2015 without going thru all the months.
But I want the old below-the-month-view-daily-summary back.

And when I am done typing And click done. And click submit reply, the bottom menu bar pops up instead of submitting because it was close enough to the bottom. But it was not at the bottom edge. So the menu bar should not pop up. It is extremely annoying.

Because vertical space is at a premium in landscape. I frequently look at the web page and hardly ever need to check the time while browsing so I'm happy with the change. i can see the time through notification center or just by looking at my watch.

I have to agree here. Id rather have a tad more browsing area than being able to see the clock and battery. Not a big deal, to me anyways.

Still interested at how the movement is going, whatever the objective may be.

Laziness is the mother of efficiency, people!!!!

Eliminate extra steps like touching or lifting an arm to get more info.
Let me check time and battery % with mere 9° of eyeball movement!!!!! Oops there is that 'movement' again.

Hmm, I have a similar way of using Calendar, but I kinda like the new way of doing things. So I start off in month view and then when I want to see what's going on this Saturday, I click on it (eg Oct 12), the view expands and shows me a lot more of my schedule for that day. If it's busy and I want to check the following Sat, I simply swipe the weekly calendar left and it takes me immediately to the next Sat. I like the extra vertical space below because then I don't have to swipe through as much of the day. The way I'm looking at it is instead of tapping through the weekends, I simply swipe instead. A small change that I felt was easy enough to adapt to and the pay off was more space for the details of the day.

That's another thing. That expanded hourly view is just not efficient. I have to scroll up or down to see all the events for the day. Everything in one screen is much quicker. I didn't used to care what time for all day events but now I have to make sure I mark it "all day". Inefficiency is the nickname for iOS 7. Appearance is another name. Form over function. I hate it.

I think people would be happier if you could toggle between just the entry list and the expanded view of the day. If I don't have anything going on until 3pm, I'd rather not have to scroll through all that open space just to see the afternoon activities.

I agree. Or...

Toggle for iOS 6 vs iOS 7. That will fix my problems. I can live without some of the new features of iOS 7 which I like - side swiping, quick wifi turn off/on.

Everyone needs to read what fragmentation actually does to the security and function of a OS before they post any further.

Well, I also have Fantastical which I think is an improved version of the iOS 6 Calendar. I enjoyed using that a lot and I switched only to give the iOS 7 Calendar a chance. So far I'm pretty neutral so I haven't bothered switching back, but if it bothers you this much, give Fantastical a try - I'm sure you'll love it if you preferred the iOS 6 Calendar. It's FAR better.

Does it sync with google and iCal on iMac ?

Just one flick will take you till the end... JUST ONE FLICK... And if you want to go to your next week just swipe the day bar on top (in the day view) from left to right... So if you are on Tuesday this week one swipe instead of a tap will take you to Tuesday next week... And I bet you didn't know that...

And no it's not inefficient... I am a heavy user of the calendar app myself... I find the new calendar UI much much better...

Toggle flips up/down or left/right. One time switch is called a one time no coming back an giant leap forward.

There fixed it for ya...

Edit: I think I'm done with this thread now... GN peeps... Keep the movement strong and on... And yes keep throwing those toys out of the pram...

For sure with iCal. I've never set it up with Google Calendar but it looks like it does. It also syncs with my Facebook calendar though I don't know how b/c I never set it up. But all the Facebook birthdays appear in Fantastical. Which I'm kinda meh about. I might turn that off.

EDIT: Fanastical's website says it does: http://flexibits.com/fantastical-iphone/faq

Actually now that you have me thinking about it, I might go back to Fantastical. It really is a great calendar app.

Now with your pebble cleared, I can start rolling my boulder!

And since you know how older devices are affected by newer OSes, specifically your iPad 1, why did you upgrade the iPhone 4 to iOS7 until you were sure how it ran?
Some norwegian news-site claimed it was ok in an article. Didnt bother checking macrumors. My mistake.

Of course had they restricted 7 to just the 4S, people would be accusing Apple of just trying to force them to buy new devices.
The irony is that the upgrade itself, is whats forcing me into buing a new device now.

OH NO........ What have you done?? You downloaded an app??????

Sir, you have gone against 'the movement', you are fired......

Anyway, hope you enjoy your new calendar app....

Where is everybody?? Am I the only one interested in the movement?? Even the OP has deserted the movement...

So...I wonder how many are like me and use every app in you "Useless Junk" folder every day?

Facetime is useless junk? The camera app? Seriously?

I don't use the passbook app, more because of the airlines I travel haven't caught up with mobile phone technology yet...

FaceTime is blocked in UAE...

But apart from that I use all the other apps quite regularly and they are all on my home pay screen...
