So...I wonder how many are like me and use every app in you "Useless Junk" folder every day?

Facetime is useless junk? The camera app? Seriously?

Control panel has shortcuts for camera and calculator. I don't need those apps taking up space.

Yahoo! Weather gives 10 day forecast and 24hour hourly forecast and much more info.

Phone has contacts and FaceTime can be done thru phone app.

Calendar is replaced with google calendar.

Newsstand and passbook are never used.

Honestly unlike many of you on this board I was not closely following the development of the new io7. But I AM like the majority of consumers who trust that an upgrade will not seriously alter the product the purchase... They certainly should be able to bring the product back to its previous state ... To not allow that tramples the rights of the consumer

I'm sorry, are you having a laugh?

iOS 7 was on every single news site in the UK when it was announced at WWDC. BBC made it a front page item. Apple news gets hyped to death world wide.

----------

I have only had an iPhone since July, and it's my first Apple product.

One reason why I updated to iOS 7 only two days after it became available is that I figured it would be easier to move if I wasn't that used to iOS 6, and that proved to be the case. Had I waited two years to installed the new OS, I'd be very accustomed to the old one, and I'd be stressed moving to the new one (although I don't know if I'd swear off Apple products just for that—I think my iPhone is great so far). As it is, with only 60 days' exposure to iOS 6, I've already forgotten what it looked like, and now I'm used to iOS 7.

Design-wise, iOS 7 is neither better nor worse objectively, just different. Lots of new features, though. I suppose for people who have been using iOS 6 since it was first released, iOS 7 is a jarring change.

I've been using an iPhone since the 3G. That came with iPhoneOS 2 (it wasn't called iOS back then. That came with version 4).

I got used to iOS 7 in about..... 5 minutes. It's a reskin. 99.99% works in exactly the same way.

----------

The whole point is the enforcement of the "can't ever go back" policy in light of a major change to the OS Even Microsoft allowed for consumers to reverse the process in a windows upgrade. How can you not see how wrong this is from the consumer's perspective???

----------

And it is exactly this smug attitude that will cause consumers to turn away from Apple!

Try downgrading a Windows Phone after a firmware update..... Yeah that's ea.... Oh wait.

There was no warning of such a drastic change. Like most unsuspecting consumers, I got a message on my equipment about an upgrade and I upgraded. Luckily I have warned others who have no idea that the product that they purchased is about to be altered in a huge way

Drastic? Its the same thing, shinier and brought up to date looks wise. The core functionality is the same....

If that were true then why not have an IOS 7 skin and IOS 6 skin and let users device...After all its just a that simple...right?

No it's not the same thing at all.

So the movement seems to have stopped. As long as Apple keeps milling out ios updates people will stay hopeful, right?

Not this thread again... pls.. I hate iOS 7 and Ive's taste (they are pathetic and hideous)... But this thread is an embarrassment just because of its approach. Let the thread sink and die.

Honestly unlike many of you on this board I was not closely following the development of the new iOS 7.

And you expect Apple to take some responsibility for that? Puh-leaze. You chose to update without knowing what you were doing. Buy someone's old phone on iOS 6 on craigslist.

Well it's been a couple of days since I first posted and I've read all sorts of comments. So let's start from step 1 . As someone who waited on line overnight for the iphone 4, who purchased one for my gf, who purchased an ipad, who purchased an iphone 5.... I was surprised and appalled that when I downloaded io7 and discovered that one could not revert to io6 just a couple of days after release.

All that I wanted to be able to do is to revert to the io6... And I would be happy, my gf would be happy... We would still be content Apple customers, albeit hopeful that future tweaks would remedy some issues.

BUT Apple, just two days? After release, eliminated our ability to revert. And so we are, like many, many Apple customers, stuck with no recourse but to seek alternative products.

While I do take responsibility for not researching the upgrade prior to acceptance, what you need to understand is that while many of you on this board follow the io7 developments closely, most consumers don,t. Despite the fact that I loved Apple products, I was very busy with work and, based on my previous trust in Apple upgrades and fixes in the past, just accepted the recommended io7. I had no idea it was decreed by apple to be a "no turning back" decision. And now that I realize that they took the freedom of choice away from me, I am totally alienated like many others and want to let others know that this Corporation could care less about its customers and that we should pursue other products

I'm sympathetic to your plight, but here's the deal. Your tone in your earlier posts screams entitlement and a lack of personal responsibility for your decision to update to iOS 7 without doing any research. You called yourself an enthusiast, and bragged about waiting in line for the 4. Many of us have been with Apple for much longer. An enthusiast would have known about iOS 7. An enthusiast would have known that you can't downgrade for very long after an update is released. An enthusiast would know that Apple doesn't bend to the whims of consumers.

The ironic thing is that we true enthusiasts are being called sheeple, and blind followers of Apple. But we're not the ones who pressed the "update" button with blind trust; we knew exactly what we were getting.

Perhaps if you'd approached your post with a little mea culpa, instead of a whiny, entitled and ignorant consumer.

The takeaway should be this: barring our significant other and families, the relationship we have with our mobile phone is probably the most important. Perhaps you should have been more careful.

Did we really need to dig up this thread to rediscuss the same things over again.

So the movement seems to have stopped. As long as Apple keeps milling out ios updates people will stay hopeful, right?

Thank you sir, for dredging up the 'movement' from the bowels (pardon the pun) of loneliness!!!!!

Now if we can wake up the OP, we can get back the movement on track...

By the way, are you still enjoying your new calendar app??

Well it's been a couple of days since I first posted and I've read all sorts of comments. So let's start from the beginning. As someone who waited on line overnight for the iphone 4, who purchased one for my gf, who purchased an ipad, who purchased an iphone 5.... I was surprised and appalled that when I downloaded ios7 and discovered that one could not revert to ios6 just a couple of days after release. In my case, my gf with the iphone 4 that I had purchased for her birthday was upset because her phone was excruciatingly slow, almost crippled. And the battery life, which wasn't that great to start with, is now so bad that she has to be on perpetual charger. Yes, we disabled this, disabled that, but the drain was very fast.

And, in using my iphone 5 and ipad, I am having difficulty seeing the thin lines that are throughout the new ios . Yes, I made all the tweaks, font size, etc, but I am still having issues even after the changes. And I am also having battery issues with the ipad . And I hate the icons and find the calendar unusable, amongst other things

What I had hoped is that if enough people like yourselves supported a longer open window, then Apple would provide some recourse, as happened with the Google maps fiasco. I did not post this to get attention, I am not some troll... I am the guy that waited with you in line with excitement and anticipation to get the latest Apple product

I believe it is in all of your interests to support a longer period to revert back to a previous ios. Even if you are thrilled with the new io, what if you downloaded it and the discovered that it created problems that you had not anticipated? And what if you discovered that you could not do anything to go back?

You are the ones who are the core of the Apple support... You are the ones that can effect change, they will listen to you, if anyone.

So please, stand up for the consumer and urge Apple to allow users to revert to a previous ios.

If I could change the title of this thread, it would be " let Apple know that not allowing a longer windows revert to a previous ios is hurting the consumer and alienating many previous Apple enthusiasts"

There are many, many consumers and Apple fans who feel the same:

so are you moving or what

curious to see how many of the members who jumped on OP are going to jailbreak their phones?

i bought an ipad to my mom because the icons where bold and easy to see , she nows complains that "someone" changed everything and can't use cause can't understand

While I agree with your points, fact is Apple is a near mirror image of the government.

There's no point in trying to reach an entity like that. :)
And every once in a while (not at all all that seldom either) they actually listen to complaints and so something about them.

I will... And the two are totally unrelated... Your point is moot and just flamebait...

We should throw in 'flame bait' as well..... That should help the movement...

Also I wonder, since OP started this thread, how many app stores downloads have happened..... I really would love to know the figures...

The OP turned out to be a magician... He's done the vanishing act brilliantly... #

I for one am a proud member of this new movement - vowed to not purchase another product from Apple until they get their act together. Not saying I'm switching to Android or anything like that. There are lots of 2nd hand idevices to be had and Apple is not getting anything from those sales, so that's what I will do when the time comes to replace my iP4...

I am enjoying my note 3. Real racing 3 is a lot more fun on bigger screen also.
