The calendar and music apps don't need tweaks, the need to be changed from the ground up. What we have right now are perfect examples of bad software development with no consideration for usability.

The current music app makes me feel cheated. I paid 400€ for a 64GB iPod touch with a software that is capable of managing a large music collection. A few months later an update appears that cripples my device's core functionality. The new music app is totally unsuited for collections larger than a few dozen albums. I don't see the point of staying quiet and waiting a few months because Apple might fix it.

There is a piece of software that works perfectly fine. It's called iOS 6.1.3. It would cost Apple nothing to make it available to me. The only sensible thing would be to re-enable signing of iOS6 installations until they are able to provide a music app in iOS7 that is practical.

I paid for the functionality that they removed in iOS7. Why do people forget that in this discussion all the time?

I gave feedback weeks ago to apples website that I will not upgrade to iOS7 until they fix the music app so that it works like iOS6. It doesn't have to look like iOS6 but it needs to function like iOS6.

I too have a large library over 40 gigs. Some of my artist have over 100 albums and from how I see it working in iOS7 its a downgrade that does not function properly like iOS6.

Music was the core push and the foundation of apple how could they neglect there core app in iOS7. I just don't understand.

So after spending all this time after downgrading back to 6.1.3 on my Mini, I decided it was time to upgrade back to 7.0.3. There was one app that had made me downgrade back to 6.1.3 that was not working correctly with 7.0 at the time and it was finally updated a few weeks ago.

I've been enjoying using 7.0.3 and I think it has some very useful features. It doesn't seem as cartoonish as it did that first day that I ran 7.0 and then downgraded.

I will be keeping my 4S on 6.1.3 for the near future. I didn't like 7.0 on it.

This thread is getting a bit constipated.....

Is in need of another movement....

NOT upgrading to iOS 7.04, doesn't that constitute a movement ??

We need this movement stay until Apple allow downgrade to iOS 6. iOS 7 killed my iPhone 4S battery, now it doesn't hold charge for half days.

EVEN with this:

1. Celluar data turned off.

2. Backgroupd App refresh turned off

3. Reduced Motion turned on

4. Location service turned off

5. Bluetooth turned off

6. Screen turned all the way down

7. Restored countless time without backup still no hope.

NOW, CAN APPLE PLEASE LET ME RESTORE BACK TO iOS 6? I NEED A WORKING PHONE!

Please name the artists you have that have over 100 albums....Google can't even name one for me.

I personally max out at 44 for a single artists...and that is owning their 7 full length albums and every single, concert album, etc.

Just curious.

The reason this massive thread exists and thrives is because there is no longer someone at Apple that demands perfection. Most humans suck, even very smart ones, and someone needs to be there to demand that perfection.

iOS 7 is half baked, but is not bad, and will only improve. However the ship is not in the shape it was under the command of Mr. Steve Jobs. Current CEO is soft and possibly should replaced. Ive seems too comfortable.

Meh, a bunch of wrong whining. iOS 7 is great. Nothing wrong with it, besides bugs. You have no idea what Steve would have thought of iOS 7 (or if he pre-approved said design years ago). Pretending like you do is the bottom of the of the forum post barrel.

iOS 7 is great, people hate change, and you didn't deserve iOS 6 before nor do you deserve it now. You get what Apple wants you to have. Don't like it, move on. Few will. Many will whine.

To date I have only encountered one person in the wild who is pleased with iOS 7. She is new to iPhone so it may be the cache of being an iPhone owner.

Yesterday I had my hair trimmed. The stylist asked me if I am having trouble updating my apps. No, no issues here. I'm on iOS 6.

She let me look at her iPad. I tried to update an app. The update button goes into a circle. The icon for the app is darkened with waiting under it. Nothing else happens. I tried a few more. Same deal.

She told me to stay where I am with my iPad. Said I was lucky. She also said she was a little envious that I had iOS 6.

Are there any non-developers who like iOS 7?

I forget how much I like iOS 7 until I have to troubleshoot one of the work iPads, which are all on iOS 6.

iOS 7 took a fairly long time (a month?) to grow on me. And before I had to deal with iOS 6 again, I'd definitely say I wasn't impressed with iOS 7. But now that I'm frequently dealing with both iOS 6 and iOS 7, it shows me that there's a lot about iOS 7 that I like. Control Center, Notifications, swiping in Safari, getting to Spotlight from any Home Screen, the new Task Manager look (and how the current app that you're in actually shows up and can be closed), how the Notification Screen shows me the traffic on the various routes I can take to/from work/home, the App Store automatically updating apps, etc.

But yeah, until I had to go back and work in "iOS 6 land", I really didn't think much about iOS 7. I guess you don't know what you've got til it's gone, sometimes.

In the first weekend of iOS 7 launch, about 64% people had upgraded which equated to 200 million users downloading. That would mean 200 million people pressed the 'download' button deliberately to upgrade themselves to the latest iOS. I am sure vast majority of them are non-developers.

I do not not know if all non-developers like iOS 7 or not, but I am a non-developer and I like iOS 7 a lot. So now you know at least two people in the wild, who like iOS 7.... now that's progress....

Are you basing your theory on knowing '1 person in the wild', who likes iOS 7 ?? Currently over 300 million people are on iOS 7, how many % of that people have you met in the wild to base your theory on ??

Just curious.....

Are you sure it isn't just the fact your battery is dying? My other half has a 4S and iOS7 runs just as smooth on it as my 5S and easily goes a day between charging.

You know what? Let those of us who like iOS7 enjoy their iOS7, and those of us who like iOS6 enjoy their.. oh wait.

I disagree that people pressed the DOWNLOAD button. I didn't and the damned thing downloaded on my iPad mini.

Maybe I should have said "in real life". Only one and she is thrilled to finally get an old white MacBook.

As to the constant posts about the world jumping on the chance to move to iOS 7 I always here the same thing. They don't like it and didn't realize it was a complete change from the iOS they knew and loved.

So for now I know ONE person who actually likes iOS 7. She is also over the moon about her "new" white MacBook. I take that with a grain of salt.

I do agree with the poster who suggests that people use the iOS they prefer. The kicker is that you don't know unless you try it. There is no going back unfortunately.

I know eight people with iPhones, one 5S, four 5, three 4S... And none of them like iOS 7... They all upgraded from iOS 6 as they always upgrade... Little red badge appears on the settings icon, you press update, as always... They didn't expect the change that came with iOS 7 because they do not follow iOS matters that closely, or at all...

It still doesn't matter wether the iOS 7 downloaded itself or people pressed the button.... Point is that over 300 million people have got iOS 7, and you are a brave person to make a sweeping statement about dislike of iOS 7 based on 1 person !!!!! 10/10 for courage..

As regards to going back to iOS 6, we can argue and debate about it until hell freezes over.....it's not going to happen with Apple, whether you like it or not, or whether you agree with it or not... There is a choice in the market, but I am sure you have heard it all before...

So the girl you know likes iOS 7, she is happy with it and she made a point of telling you that - right? And you take it with a grain of salt? Why?

If she said she hated iOS 7, then you would have believed her?

Sorry but to me you sound a bit of masochist - it seems you are deliberately trying to seek out people who do not like iOS 7, and if they do like it, you refuse to believe their sanity...

Sorry, you will have to try harder and bringing a lot of more facts into this, if you are really serious about 'starting' or 'joining' the movement....

Not questioning of the sanity of the young lady who is pleased with her iPhone on iOS 7. She likes it. Period. She is also over the moon about her new white MacBook. That is a point of reference.

It's not necessary to seek out people who are displeased with iOS 7. They are many and vocal. the woman I referenced in the recent post with the iPad apps upgrading asked me if I am having problems with upgrading my apps.

I'm not so I said no. She went on to tell me about her issue and ask if I had a solution.

I have been using Apple products for many years. It is not uncommon for people to ask me for help. Happens all the time.

People express the dissatisfaction with iOS 7 freely.

This is the first time that so many people in my circle of folks say the "hate" something from Apple.

In the past people devoted to a different OS had strong negative feelings about Apple products. This is a first. People who genuinely like Apple, purchase and use the products are dissatisfied with the iOS on their device. The dissatisfaction os so strong that they don't think seeking support from Apple is a viable option.

Could this be the first domino to fall?

As someone who is a relatively heavy user and has had no real problems with iOS 7, I'm continuing to wonder what the fuss is about.

If anything, iOS 7 has improved my battery life somewhat and the phone is performing as good as ever. I had a minor complaint about the animations but Apple put in a switch to disable them. All is great now.

(raises hand)

I love iOS 7, and I have been using iPhones since the 3G days. I wanted to install it the first moment I saw it at WWDC. Makes my experience with iOS better. And I would hate going back to iOS 6 now.

Does my iPhone crash from time to time? Yes, but it only annoys me for a moment, then I move on. And so far, every update apple pushes out, the crashes happen less and less often.

And my experience has been the exact opposite of yours. Between all my friends, family, and coworkers, only 1 comes to mind you hates it.

People hate change. Not all, but many. The reason no one complained about iOS before was because it hardly changed at all from update to update.

Of course, with the first major update to the interface since it was released, people will be vocal in their displeasure because that's human nature. Something changes, they don't like it. They don't like it, they have to tell everyone.

In a year, no one will care, everyone will have moved on. It didn't remove functionality, it added it. As much as they like to think so, most people are no worse off now than they were with iOS 6 and before.

And I have the complete opposite situation as you. I know about 30 people that use iOS devices - some have been users since the first iPhone, some came onboard around the time of the 4S. Out of all of them, 2 don't care for iOS 7, and about 5 are indifferent. Beyond that, they all really like the changes.

This is not a first-fallen domino. This is a change that certain individuals are resisting because it's human nature. They will get over it, and it will be a non-issue.
