Thanks for that research and response. :)

I would think that we'll see some sort of celebration event regardless of the "rumor mill" silence. Something new WILL show up on Apple's pages (or at least be announced) within the next 14 days to coincide with the important date. ;)

well, only a few more days until April 1st and still no announcement. I am guessing it'll be a litle while before new products.

Wow, reading your message reminds me of my nephew when he doesn't get his way. He's 8 years old. Take a deep breath and remember, it's just a computer. Go for a walk, see a movie, call a friend, unplug for the day and go out and enjoy life.

RE: Macbook

I was just wondering how many people are just waiting untill april 1st to see if the macbook comes out, and if it doesnt, am gonna go buy the macbook pro. I have been so tempted to go buy the macbook pro but held off because of these rumors. There better be a realease APRIL 1!!!

...don't we all!

Shame to hear that nothing may happen, although it was only speculation and educated-guesses that led us to believe something would happen.

Still, it is shame for Apple to miss out on all those people getting their tax-returns and wanting to blow it on shiny, new Apple products...

Guess we'll see soon enough.

I bet that's the exact reason why we haven't seen a MacBook yet....It would affect sales of the MacBook Pro.

Amazon has a sale that ends on the 16th (er something)

 so i bet something comes out shortly thereafter...

anybody think there will be price drops on current g4 powerbooks before they are EOLed? i'd like to get one of those and just put a bunch of ram in it...

I agree. The most reliable evidence seems to be apple's financing offer for ibooks that expire april 29th. I believe thats what happened last summer. They had a ipod/ibook deal right before releasing the updated ibooks. That is the only trustworthy indicator IMO.

Well...thats not that bad really. Just a couple more weeks. Plus Apple will still have plenty of time to cash in on the edu season. Most people buy over the summer so releasing new stuff in early May makes a lot of sense to me.

I go to a University in California and I received this email. My thoughts are it means an update coming soon.

Well that changes things. Now we have a couple of conflicting dates. Amazon's is April 16, the apple store financing is April 29th and this new one is March 31st. I don't know what to think now.

It would make sense to rely on the expiration of the last sales promotion. Once the new Macbooks arrive, Apple will have to mark down the old ibooks anyway so it would be strange to have two other promotions for it at the same time. However, having a sales promotion end as early as March 31st doesn't affect the other promotions. They can still have more or just keep the financing one after the 31st.

I hope that something will release in early april but I'm still inclined to look towards May.

Still Nothing Today

Wow every morning when I check apple's "hot news" i just want to read, 13.3" macbook released! nothing today....

iPod update!!!

AAPL - announced a software update for the iPod(R) nano and fifth generation iPod, allowing customers to easily set their own personal maximum volume limit. The software update also gives parents the ability to set a maximum volume limit on their child's iPod and lock it with a combination code

Thinking Different?

Just browsing through some sites, and found this

I'm not sure if it's just coincidence or Apple actually coming up with a new way of advertising the iPod.

So, i guess we get nothing then, unless it's a silent update on Tuesday. I was really hoping to check the specks on a new ibook to replace a craptacular rev c. 12" PB.

Guess we keep waiting.

they will do something simply because if they dont, AAPL will take a hit. all the analysts are expecting something, and expectations are what drive stock prices.

Looks like new iBooks/Macbooks won't be due till 30th April. I won't be surprised if they launch the 13.3" Macbook Pro on that day as well. Maybe the complete range on a single day.

If I remember correctly both the nano and the video were launched within a few days of each other.
