I only came here to read the obsessive apple fanboyism;
Theres more hilarious comments in this thread, naturally.
And if the "fanboys" turned out to be correct?
Hell, they have a pretty good track record so far. Betting on Apple and against their competitors is a pretty safe bet these days, especially when the competitor is MS, in a segment where Apple has a star product.
As it stands at this point, there's a more than even chance this entire MS-Nokia WP7 enterprise is going to tank. All the "fanboys" doubts about it are not entirely misplaced.
WP7 has largely been ignored by consumers for a year now.
What's going to change? Especially in light of a) iPhone-mania that seems to be unending, the world over, and b) the rapid proliferation of Android that already saturates the non-iphone segment of the market.
The problem isn't that these WP7 devices in and of themselves are bad. The problem is that consumers have already walked away from the platform (months ago, in fact.) Why should they give it *another* look when they have the Holy Grail (iPhone) of smartphones available (and in huge demand) and an ocean of Android devices to choose from? If MS is banking on appealing to those customers who are unhappy with Android's fragmentation, instability and lack of timely updates, Apple already has them covered.
This wouldn't really be an issue if the WP7 platform was brand new and untested. But that's the thing: it isn't. It's already part of the past and Nokia is trying to resurrect it by a) slapping their name on the phones and b) apparently increasing production. But to what result? Simply
more of what consumers already don't want?
