This has to be one of the nicest threads on here! Only one person telling you that you are wrong!

You bought what you wanted and you are happy

Fantastic!
Thread of the year!

I guess us Brits are just happy people ;) (I'm assuming you are British)

Of course there is nothing wrong with it. It's the same phone the world fell in love with last year.

What's odd is that everyone wants to keep justifying themselves. So you wanted a colorful iPhone. Big deal. Enjoy it, and see you at the next update.

And you are right, some people are going to think the 5s jump isn't worth it (from a 5). Some people are. You thought it was worth it to "upgrade" to a 5c. Some people don't.

There were/are plenty of people knocking the 5C because it is plastic almost in a snobbish sort of way. Seems to me that's why 5C owners are defending their purchase. If someone started a post about how much they loved their 5S I don't think anyone would be calling it odd or questioning why someone feels the need to justify their purchase.

The bottom 1/8th was, the rest was aluminium

Right. Point is the original iPhone was partially plastic. Personally I prefer the 4 and 5 design because it looks and feels more like a finely crafted device, not something you would expect to produce in the tens of millions. What I like about the 5C is it doesn't really feel like a plastic device. The steel reinforcements in the frame give it a durable feeling, give it a bit of heft that just feels different than some of the other plastic phones out there IMO.

5C looks to be an ok phone. I couldn't imagine going from a 5 to a 5C though. Apple made it cheaper to increase profit margins and you paid for it? Whaaa?

Why do you care what other people do?

Nope. Just the colour and feel I'm afraid. If the 5S came in the same form factor, I would of upgraded to the 5S.

Haha yeah forgot about that! Got me thinking though, I hope the iPhone 6 comes in colours like this, otherwise I'm always gonna be a generation behind ^^

Nothing wrong with the 5C, I really like it.

Let me get this straight. You went from a 5 to a 5c which either cost you $550 plus tax or $100 plus tax with a two year contract. A phone that internally is the exact same thing as a 5 except a better front camera (lighting ) and more LTE bands ...#

If you thought that the 5c looked nice then you should've just gotten a leather 5s case.

Yup. Because I like iPhones but don't like the latest iPhone designs. And if the iPhone 6 looks the same as the iPhone 5S, then I will always be a generation behind. And I won't care. I'm sure you will sleep at night over this, so I wouldn't worry too much. ; )

And you can do like I just did and sell that 5 for $400.

May I just ask why in the world you would have upgraded? The 5 was thinner lighter and made of metal. Quick question by the way, did you upgrade from the 4s to 5?

Because if so you upgraded to a lighter phone, and now you are upgrading to a more "solid" feeling phone. It is more solid because apple went the opposite way, they made it thicker and heavier. I agree the colors are nice, but to drop 650 dollars on the same phone with a cheaper build quality is in my book ridiculous

What is your source for cheaper "build quality"? I know people consider aluminum to be a "premium" material compared to plastic, but what does that have to do with build quality?

I don't know why people have such a problem, it's simply a matter of preference. People can get so bothered so easily, even anonymously, it's quite surprising.

Exactly. I find that sometimes, people in these forums just want to start controversy and have an agenda to just insult people without provocation. Ignore them, they just want others to be just as unhappy as they are.

The constant attempts to discredit the 5c and demeaning anyone who bought one are very weird. If you don't like the phone then don't buy one. Regardless of anyone else's opinions I love my 5c and didn't love the feel or look of the 5. We all have preferences in phone choices and just because someone's was different than yours doesn't mean they're crazy. Just **** and enjoy your damn phones.

Saw in person yesterday. They aren't bad really. I just don't prefer that black front. Not sure I agree with the color shades, but it doesn't really affect me anyway.

But isnt the entire premise of this thread to defend a personal choice by seeking out approval from strangers?

If you're really going to judge happiness by expression, the happiest iPhone users are the ones who are silent because they are confident enough in their purchases that they dont care what anonymous internet users think about it.

I know the 5S is the latest and greatest, and I could of easily gone for that, but just having the choice for a more colourful option, call me girly, but I went for the colour option rather then the speed, and I think it's nice we finally have the option.

I own the 5S and it's definitely the latest.. greatest depends on your needs and scenario.

I think the 5C is an awesome phone too. 64bit, etc.. are cool, but to an extent not really fully taken advantage of yet. The M7 on the other hand I see taking off. I'm into fitness and already enjoying some apps that use this.

Get what you want end of the day though. I was almost sold on the blue 5C.

Build quality is the quality of the build, Atleast thats what I take it to mean, Plastic is cheaper than metal. Thats what cheaper build quality means, its quite simple
