I'm not saying you speak for everyone but plastic is one of the reasons everyone talks crap about the galaxy etc. It's just funny how people say things to fit their argument at that given time.

Oh now Apple has plastic phones? Well plastic isn't that bad.. Yet two months ago plastic was the crappiest thing on the planet.

No, people were ripping on Samsung's plastic. I don't remember people here ripping on Nokia Lumia phones. Those are plastic as well. Also, it seems as though plenty of people are knocking the 5C so perhaps the same people knocking Galaxy are also knocking the 5C?

Highly disagree, it feels like cheap plastic to me. I can flex it and if you tap on it with your fingernail it sounds hollow.

This is me holding one so you don't think I'm "just saying that". Some of them "creaked" too if you squeezed them in the right spot.

There are some devices that your not sure if it's plastic or not. There is no mistaking the 5C is plastic.

Not sure what you're showing us other than kind of dirty fingernails. :D. Anyway I had the complete opposite impression. I wasn't expecting it to feel as good as it did. Although I admit I didn't spend a lot of time trying to bend it or squeeze it to see if it made noise. The Apple store was busy and I didn't want to look stupid.

Not all plastic phones are built the same. A Nokia Lumia 920, for instance, is much more solid than a Galaxy S4. The S4 is not a bad phone, but to say it is the same in terms of build quality or solid feel as an iPhone 5c, Lumia 920, or even HTC One X is a stretch. Plus iPhones were plastic for two generations (3G and 3GS), so this is not the first plastic iPhone. A plastic phone can indeed be a premium feeling device and Apple is not the only manufacturer to pull that off.

I agree. I haven't held a C yet but I love my old 3GS even though the plastic is cracked. It felt very ergonomic.

I like to show pictures considering how many post on here are from people that are just talking BS.

I guess it depends on what you are expecting. I had high expectations mostly from reading post on this forum. I was definitely let down.

Was a dinner party last night and used the phone. One person said "that's a cool case on your phone" :p I informed them it was the new "cheap" iPhone, and handed it around. They said "how is it cheap?" Explained the new processor on the 5s, etc, but people were unconvinced. "Nice phone" they said. As far as running iOS7, 5c, 5s and 5 (and frankly the 4S) look identical to most users.

People won't bash your shiny new phone in person in a social context or that guy is a real jerk.

They could've put an A7 in the 5C but it wouldn't really have made a difference.

Chips in phones don't really excite me unless it's absolutely necessary. We have apps that still aren't fully utilizing A6.

Am sorry to say as much as I like the 5C design I went to exchange for the 5S.

While comfortable to hold, it just gets too slippery for me. I don't have oily hands but when holding it for a couple minutes over and over it becomes slippery enough that I'm afraid to drop it one day.

Be happy with your choice. The 5C is not a bad phone at all, perfect for people wanting more color options etc. :)

I actually prefer the 5c over the 5s when I tried them both in the apple store, but am a techy geek and go for latest tech unfortunately. If I had more money than sense, I would certainly buy both. Just playing the waiting game now for my order to be dispatched.

I'm wanting to back to an iPhone after having a Galaxy S3 for just over a year. I was hoping that the 5c was going to cheaper than it is, so wrote it off to be honest.
I bought a new "unlocked" 5 off ebay, but got screwed as it was locked. Thankfully ebay sorted out a refund so I went to look at the 5c today after reading all the positive comments on here.
I have to say I'm one of the people who was pleasantly surprised with the 5c. I had a play with all the latest and greatest and the 5c was definitely the highest quality of all the plastic phones, by quite a way for me. There is no way I'd pay this money for an S4, now that was light and flimsy to me. I actually prefer a bit of weight with a phone, so actually prefer that side over the 5s. I didn't find it slippery in my hand and loved the design. Very nice phone.

I thought I'd take a 5s over a 5c any day of the week, but I'm really not sure now. There's something about the 5c I find more appealing now I've seen it in the flesh, but my head still says 5s. I haven't seen a single one in the wild and quite like having something a bit different. Also money is a bit tight (I know it's only £80, but still) and the 5s is hard to find at the minute. Plus I'm only keeping it for a year and hoping to get a 6 with my upgrade next year and if the 6 comes out sooner, all the better.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to order one tonight from Apple, but can't decide on the colour now! Everything is saying white, but that seems to defeat the idea of the 5c. I like the green and yellow, but don't think I can get away with a phone in that colour at my age! ;)

The white is very nice as I have one myself

I have a 5 and stopped in to see the 5c. I really liked it.
I though it felt great. Very well balanced weight and good durable feel.
I wouldn't hesitate to buy one.
I personally don't think the touch ID is as solid as it should be. Maybe next generation or two.

after using it for awhile there is some flex on the LCD, i don't like it
Had mine since Sept. 20, it's rock solid. No flexing. The screen feels like it's just part of the plastic back. Yours must have a problem, or you are pressing VERY hard on it. I would take it to Apple, regardless. You'll see further, worse problems later on.

i already returned it, i think your phone will begin to flex over time.

Going from a 5 to the 5c felt like more of an upgrade than 4 to 4s or 4s to 5. It's the freshest feeling iphone I've owned in years and possibly my favourite. Didn't want or need touch sensor because I download one app every few days and don't use a pin lock. Didn't believe the camera rubbish because they pushed that feature improvement even more with the previous upgrades and the difference was always hardly noticeable. Didn't want another phone that would be cold to hold with sharp edges, and would inevitably have a big ugly scratch at some point unless I bought a case. Basically, I am very happy right now with a blue 5C!
I'm with you on the 5c, love it, but the camera upgrade on the 5s isn't "rubbish." You're not going to see a huge difference in every picture, but in shots with extremes of light and dark (ex: sunset, where the 5s will provide a lot more detail both in the light itself as well as the darker areas), or just low-light images, the 5s camera blows away the 5 and 5c camera. Overall, however, for everyday, outdoors images, the cameras between these three iPhones are very similar.

Don't mistake the plastic shell of the 5c as being more durable when it comes to scratches. It WILL scratch like anything plastic. It might be more prone to picking up faint scratches than metal, actually. Where it will prove better is in small falls where the 5s would get dinged and nicked on the edge. The 5c won't (I am completely disregarding the very unscientific drop test that showed the 5c screen shattering, as the screen pretty clearly took a direct hit.)

After an evening of deliberation I finally bit the bullet and ordered a white 5C. I got it down to the yellow and white, but white is simple, classy and traditional Apple for me. Love the black logo on the back too.
Should get it on Thursday, can't wait. :D

White's nice because it goes with any and ALL of the cases available. Nothing doesn't match. Didn't think of this when I ordered my yellow 5c.

I am in my 40s and bought the Green 5C for just me myself because I think it looks great ... never thought what people would think, or if the phone went with anything.

For me ... it really is just a phone, that seems to work pretty darn well.

Where did you get your lock screen picture? I really like that :D

Got my green 5C and my wife yellow 5C today. Diggin the phone, but I will more likely exchange it for the 5S before the 14 days are up. Finding a Sprint store w/ the 5S is an entirely different story.

It is plastic, but it is a very good, dense plastic. Much better than Galaxy phones, for example. If you can't have a plastic phone, the 5c isn't for you, but otherwise, the internals and feel are great

I think the term you are looking for there in unaplologetic plastic! Far superior to any other plastic out there, and it Apologizes to NOONE!
