I was to a certain extent. I thought the note 3 was too big but eventually got one anyway.

Found my assumption was right so I didn't even entertain the idea of the iphone 6+.

I don't have a problem with it. If someone likes that size than more power to them.

I understand I'm in the minority for saying this, but I do not consider the 6 plus a big phone. Sure it is big compared to the iphone 5, but having used it for almost 2 weeks now I can't imagine having ever lived without a screen like this. It is a sweet spot for me.

Actually, I would even prefer a slightly bigger display. A 5,7" display would fit within the dimensions of the Plus no doubt.. Maybe in 2 years :)

Agreed. Shrink the top bezel and make it an even 6 inches.

Unfortunately if the top bezel is removed the phone will need to be thicker to maintain battery life. Ive won't make it thicker, so we're stuck with the bezel until major efficiency improvements - assuming Ive doesn't prefer to go even thinner while retaining the mondo bezels.

Ever since i saw the original Note in person I had been waiting for the day a Huge iPhone was released. Absolutely love my 6 plus. Bigger is better.

Well if adapting doesn't make you a hypocrite, and changing your mind doesn't make you a hypocrite, then what does? Because there is such a thing as a hypocrite.

I had the Note 3 and ordered the iPhone 6 Plus on 10/11. I do think it's big, but I have long thin fingers so I should be fine with it.

Somehow I could not find a way to do a poll post so that this post would be easier to be analysed.

Anyway, how many of you in here are ordering the iphone 6 plus despite the fact that you once thought the Galaxy Note was too big?

I find it funny that a lot of my friends who were iphone owners who adamantly think that the Galaxy Note 3 was too big and made fun of it and yet are now either ordering the iphone 6 plus or has an iphone 6 plus contained a case which make the iphone 6 plus even bigger.

----------------

Then there is also the issue of making fun of plastic phones such as the Note 3 then ignore the fact that a lot of those who make fun actually use a plastic case to cover the iphone. This is also funny but I don't think that it is as big as the topic of large phone size.

By the way, how can I edit the title of this post since I have some spelling and grammar error?

What's funny is I'm a satisfied Note II owner who bought the phone because the iPhone 4s was too small for me, so all of the "it's too big" talk was a turn off because it got to the point where if I didn't have a big phone I would need smaller hands and better eyesight.

I was excited about the 6Plus, but I was attracted to the new Moto Nexus and the Note 4. Before I ordered either of those, I remembered back to when I pledged that I'd buy a new iPhone if they increased the screen size. Between that pledge and the fact that I'll never need an IR blaster in my life, I ordered the 6 Plus.

I always thought phablets were ridiculous. I still think phablets are ridiculous. And by that I mean for me personally.

I also think the iPhone 6 is too big which is why I don't already have one (that and there's no jailbreak available).

I'm still not sure if I'll get one when the jailbreak is available. Because I still think they're too big.

My cousin got a 64gb gold 6 a few weeks back so whenever I see her I have a play with her phone. And I still sigh with relief when I pick my iPhone 5 back up.

But. It's the lesser of two evils. Do I get used to a new operating system in android. Or do I get used to a larger phone with the iPhone 6. Whilst I'm leaning towards the iPhone. I still can't actually decide.

I completely dogged people with Samsung Notes - now I am rocking a iPhone 6 +

Gladly bring it up to my friends with Notes that I made fun of - no need to hide the fact that I now think its a great size.

:)

I had the note 2 when it first came out. I lasted about 9 months, and switched back to the iPhone 5. I always said "this thing would be perfect if it ran iOS."
Now I'm happily typing this on a 6+. :)

Not me. I still think the 6+ is ridiculous and I'd hate it (for one I really want a phone I can use one handed cause usually I'm using my phone when walking, when eating lunch at work where I want a hand free to pick up the food, when in bed and when it's winter I want the least amount of me exposed to the cold air). Wouldn't fit in my purse well at all and hell if it would fit in most of my pockets. All of that stuff would just annoy me about it).

To tell the truth, I think the 6 is too big. But, after trying it out it at least fit in my purse and most of my pockets ok so I went for it. And found out that with my small hands it is awkward to use it to read a book or the internet in bed (something I like doing. Either if I'm having insomnia or even just waking up and not wanting to get out of bed yet). It's annoying enough part of me wanted to return the phone (and still do everytime I use it in bed). I still wish I could find some sort of compromise cause it is a huge downside of the phone (First time I've upgraded my iphone and had something I liked better about the previous phone).

At least with the new case I bought it is easier to hold it so as long as I'm not holding it over my head (as in reading in bed) it's ok to use one handed. But I still miss that about my 5.

In the end, I kinda wish it was smaller. But I do like the bigger screen so I guess it's not all bad, at least there is some benefit to it being bigger. I just think for my overall use of the phone smaller would be more practical for me. I have gone from a bigger screen to a smaller screen, you really stop noticing pretty quick (when I went to my first iphone I was coming from a PDA, an iPaq, that had a bigger screen. I barely even noticed when I started using the iPhone instead).

Personally I think so far the iPhone 5 had the perfect form factor (looked better too).

I got to use a friends iPhone 6 for the first time today so I can actually base my opinions on the iPhone instead of just similar sized android phones. If I switch back to iOS and Apple doesn't release an iPhone mini with the next generation I'd go with the next generation of the 6+.

I greatly prefer small phones that can be used with one hand, however on the 6 only about half the screen is usable with one hand, so if I have to give up one handed use then I don't see a good reason not to go with the biggest screen possible and use it as a small tablet that happens to make phone calls. I'm not sure if that makes me a hypocrite as far as the size goes, but maybe.

I used to have a 4s and always said that my friends S3/S4 was too big and couldn't be used with one hand.
I have a 6+ now.

That's actually an interesting POV and I could totally understand it (and I don't think it makes you a hypocrite). I mean, looking at it that way almost makes me wish I went with a 6+. But in the end I really want my phone to fit in my purse and pocket and even if the 6 is compromised on it it can do it where the 6+ cannot so I'll take the compromised phone that doesn't excel at anything but at least does what I want it to do (and I can use it one handed, just not that well. And one handed use is also important to me).

I recently bought an iPhone 5s and I prefer the smaller form factor. I hope Apple continues to support. I don't think I ever made fun of people for using a large phone, I can see the attraction. But for myself, I'd rather use a small tablet for reading pdfs and such, and have my phone be nice and compact.

I thought that the large phones were ridiculous about a year ago. When the iPhone 6 Plus was announced I ordered it immediately. Call me a hypocrite if you want to, but I love my big phone and I'm never going back.

Actually, got to give it to the phablet crowd, they were right with this one. No point trying to hold onto a position when you can simply say you learned something new and were mistaken in your analysis of the market and what features were more important.

Nevertheless it's still not entirely as simple as that. It comes down to two things:

- Mobility and carryability
- screen estate

You can either have one or the other.

Apple decided that the best form factor for screen estate and usage that would also be carryable and mobile enough (especially one handed usage) was the iPhone screen size of 3.5", and then the 4. The 3.5" screen was actually much larger than the screen sizes at the time but still highly productive and as Apple saw it, the perfect balance, and if you look at it that way, Apple was first to large screens when their now phablet competitors were making tiny blackberry style screens.

Anyway, point is all those adamant comments from Jobs and Apple marketing about the 3.5 and 4" sizes being just right were true at the time because it was geared towards a market and industry that was still prioritising carryability and mobility as a more desired feature compared to screen estate.

But when the phablet experiment came from Samsung and others (and Samsung tries many such experiments to see what works) it turned out many people actually chose to desire screen estate over carryability.

And so we now find ourselves here today, and the world is changing and people learn and improve.

i've always though huge phones were fugly and didn't make sense. Then i ordered 6+ on launch day. Hated it the first day, then put the silicon case on and i love it now. I just couldn't hold it that thin and slippery that is it. Now i LOVE it. But only because it's an iPhone. Call me whatever you want.. it's awesome though.

Which iPhone 5-sized Android phone would you be buying if you didn't get the 6?

I rarely criticized Apple and people always act like I love Apple too much with bias or something.

But the one thing I did criticize and make threads about was this. Ever since iPhone 4.

So I have 0% hypocrisy checking in.

But heres the thing: I was GLAD when I heard the reason was because SCREEN TECHNOLOGY WAS NOT THERE YET.

And they wanted to make a perfect screen and "do the phablet right." It was the only reasonable excuse and I was hoping that was the reason.

Here is what I think.

iPhone 6 plus is still just too large for me. I am using 6.

Plastic design phones are still not my favourite and some of them are very ugly. I occasionally keep the iPhone is a silicon case to protect it from scratches (usually when at work etc) but then I have the option to remove the plastic cover and just have it naked whenever I feel like.

So Samsung can say the same thing. Samsung can say that they did not copy Apple's iphone look with their earliest phones (the ones that Apple sued Samsung) because they needed "a few months" to perfect the look. Now Samsung can say the same thing about the metal body of the Alpha and the Note 4 because before these two phones the "metal frame technology was not there yet" and that they want "to do it right". Apple is known for making excuses and justifications. Remember the "you are not holding it right?"
