There's still hope for event invites. Last year's iPod event invites were sent out the week before at 7:45 pm ET. I really wouldn't get worried for a few hours now.

good point. But even if they don't, i don't care :) I'm still waiting for next tuesday

1000?! I'd say there're a few threads about new MacBooks (this time new, that is ;)) that are longer than this, and countless shorter... I'd say it's 10000+ in all of them by now, and I may be underestimating.

No wonder microsoft is more succesful at software and several companies at hardware... Less hype more substance.

lol.

what do you define as substance? Microsoft products as of late havent exactly had a great reputation.

New z series is nice and it has a similar keys to macs so you fanboys can close you eyes and pretend:)

Looks really nice for the MB crowd.

I'm more in the mood of buying a AW11XU/Q. Yeah, retail is 3,500 €.

And it may be a monster to lug around. But Jesus Christ, that thing is tempting. And it's setting a high standard, of what the new big screen MBP should be like (e.g. Full HD screen, 500 GB HDD + 128 GB SDD).

I've done some further checking; Apple's announcements vary wildly from the early morning to noon to night. 7:45 here we come, hopefully! Admittedly, though, the latest one I've seen was the 7:45 The Beat Goes On event - which it should be noted was on a Wednesday, although the invites came out 8 days in advance on a Tuesday. The lateness of their release may represent that the invites were supposed to come out that Wednesday but Apple changed its collective mind and issued them to stay on their usual Tuesday schedule. Who knows, we might have a Wednesday the 15th event (makes sense; NVIDIA is releasing its chipset that day!) with invites issued late tonight or tomorrow. Or who knows, perhaps NVIDIA will whip out the new MacBooks with Steve-O's help that very day with no invites from Apple and not even an event, persay. After all, we've heard that they're showing off new MacBooks internally! Thoughts? I think that just might happen after all...

Everybody point and laugh at the troll.
It's also somewhat laughable to refer to software as having substance, that's the whole beauty of it; it has no substance whatsoever.

I want my new Mac. That means you Steve. Look's like I'm just going to have to keep refreshing for a while.

Sony has some good products I suspect the MacBooks probably won't be as good... I hope they are as I will get a mbp if they are better... Just don't want to take the plunge on a Sony until I have all the options.... Wouldn't even look at the current macs as they are behind the times.... So hopefully the new ones will be released soon so I can see the specs and make a decision

C'mon JOBS! I sold my PC to get cash for the new Macbook, because I plan on switching over to the Mac world, but if there isn't a new Macbook I will just build a new pc, then MAYBE get a macbook when they finally get updated and have comparable hardware to their pc counterparts.

Substance doesn't just mean material... If you want a new mac buy one knobhead....

Now where did this rumour came from?

Concerning the screen, you can already get a MBP with a 1920 x 1200 screen, instead of that inferior 1920 x 1080.
