DEFINITELY £100 off in CASH

I have spoken with 3 representatives from O2 stores across the country within the last 30 minutes and each of them confirmed that the iPhone will cost only £169 as of tomorrow.

BBC also reported the story.

I was thinking that the cost would need to be claimed back as a rebate but it appears that this is not the case. Roll on tomorrow for a £169 iPhone! Apple aren't reducing the price of the iPhones they sell though - so I can't see anyone buying any more iPhones from Apple...

Love my 32GB iPod Touch but I'm so tempted just to buy one and jailbreak it at that price! Hmm now who in the UK has the cheapest SIM only plans with "unlimited" internet ???

Very, very interesting. I was planning to get a touch, but now that the iPhone is cheaper, it would make a lot of sense for me to get one of them instead and unlock it for Orange pay as you go. My only worry would be that iPhone software 2.0 (which I definitely want) would interfere greatly with the unlocking process.

Is it worth buying a few iPhones at the reduced price just to try and flog on the Bay of E for an inflated price. I'm tempted...but???

i tried twice to sell my iphone on ebay. twice i got "buyers" who sent fake emails purportedly from ebay saying money had been paid into my account. and then they both wanted the phone sent to nigeria despite my having said i only sent within the UK.

it's not worth it, i tell you!

Had the same problem when selling a PSP, in the end I recouped the fees from eBay and some local buyer snapped it up quickly on my 3-4th posting. It's a minefield out there!

o2 store down for me now...

iPhone checkout on o2 collapsing under the weight of demand... at 23:00 UK time!

Their website's always going down.

No sign of the discounts on the site; still have to do about 5 clicks to get to the price from the homepage.

Very tempting, but with only two months to go.... I'm going to wait. Mind you, it's quite tempting to just get one and crack it, use it on pay-as-you-go for a couple of months and ebay/give it away.

just after my second ebay woe i heard this rumour yesterday and sold my 8GB phone to a shop for £220.

so can i wait 2 months for 3G or shall i buy another 8GB now and pocket the change from the £220?

I'll be a real pain if Apple decide to discontinue the 8GB iPhone with the advent of the new 3G models, but if they do and make the 16GB the same price as the old 8GB then I won't complain :D

Anyway I'm glad i have decided to wait until the new models come out before I get my hands on one of the 3G babies.

Who

CARES!
2012 is going to end it all anyways which I hope it does because people are stupid.

3G coming!

That just me really wanting it to....its very possible this is Apple pushing the price of Euro iPhones down, so they can reach that 10 Million mark(I could read into it even more, and say the feel they need to cut the price, because the 3G iPhone isn't coming to 2009, and Apple really wants to get to that 10M mark, but I doubt thats the case)

I have a very important question for you guys. My friend is going to London for business on 26th of April. I live in an unsupported iPhone country will he be able to walk in to an o2 store buy 2 phones? And I'm afraid that he couldn't find an o2 store. And im also afraid that o2 will run out of stock until he goes there. Any advices? I dont want 3g iPhone because I dont have 3g support in my country.

still £269 on the o2 site as of 08:15 this morning..

any word on if you have to get the contract? or can you simply buy the phone and unlock etc..?

So does this mean that I can walk into any O2 store, buy an iPhone for 169. Get home, jailbreak it, edit some plist file and use a pay as you go sim instead of signing up for an 18 month contract?
