Am in the same boat *in progress* got 2 emails last night at 10pm UK

Had 1 email this morning to say my order is being looked into, no shipping details as yet..

Am upgrading too!!!

Exactly the same situation as me. I will need to cancel and get myself up early tomorrow if they don't guarantee delivery for tomorrow. I am beginning to think this is looking more and more likely.
 
To those with the wrong delivery address:

I called CS last night and they told me clearly that they could not change the address and the only solution was, and i quote... "to let it fail to be delivered first time and then update the address for a second attempt".

Impressive.

An update for those who have an order number but have yet to receive a consignment number. I have had several conversations with a team leader at O2 now because, despite being told that there's a phone for every confirmed order, they still unsure whether this means a Friday delivery.

The latest is that that they had a meeting this meeting at which they were told that a text message will be sent this afternoon to all confirmed orders to tell them whether or not they can expect a Friday delivery. If the answer is no, customers can cancel their online orders and go and queue at an O2 store tomorrow morning.

I'm not holding out much hope at this stage (especially as they cocked up my address) so I think it's increasingly likely I'll be getting up early in the morning.

I'm gonna give them another hour or so, if i've heard nothing am gonna give them a ring :)

They need to ship them by around 5pm the latest to get to us.. Saying that when the Wii came out ebuyer shipped our Wii's at 10pm and I got mine 9am the next morning

Amazing cos there in England am in Nr Irish land...

That's emphatically not what they told me! They said they could change the address if they caught it at the 'service centre' - whatever that means.

What a farce - I think I'll just cancel and queue at a store.

UPDATE:

Just had a Email threw to say mines been posted :) for Next day Delivery..

New customer? Upgrade? What time did you get the previous e-mails (i.e, not a confirmation one)? Were you 'in progress' until very recently then?

*EDIT* I just looked up the thread. I was in the same boat as you. Hopefully I will be confirmed soon. please!
 
My iPhone 3G order is now complete and I have the DHL number etc but I have noticed an odd thing in myo2 - the contract length appears to be what remained of my orignal o2 contract PLUS another 18 months, taking me to early 2011!

I noticed a few other people have had something similar happen - was this in the small print or is it a mistake?

Am UPGRADING, I was trying all morning on Monday, I used the failover form like 20 times and it only Completed the once and that was just before they went offline and said NO MORE STOCK...

First Email: 10pm last night
Second: 10pm last night
Third: 4am this morning
Forth: 11am this morning (Completed)

To add to that, I only submitted the failover form AFTER it went to "Out of Stock" by entering the URL for it directly and i now have a despatch confirmation :D
 
I'd love to know why mine didn't go through but others who ordered after me got theirs through!

I am happy for you. But, what about us who ordered well before they posted 'out of stock' on the site?! I got in as early as possible, as many times as possible. I am still 'in progress' and it looks more unlikely every second. So annoying. I will have to go through the hassle of cancelling, then waking up early (I still haven't figured out how early) and hopefully get one tomorrow. but if there are only a few dozen at each store, and mine is a small store. It may not happen then either. Livid!
 
Yay just got my DHL tracking number on email my o2 page still says in progress but hey got a tracking number phew can relax now.
I'm a iphone up grader getting 16 gig and used failover page got through at about 2pm on monday.
Lets see if it works and i get a?

Thought it is interesting, what criteria they are using to process these... the options are:

1) Completely random (seems very unlikely)
2) Time based (clearly not the case as i was v.late)
3) Alpabetical (disproven elsewhere)
4) Average Revenue (how much your bill is... mine is fairly high each month)

I'm going for 4... they're cherry picking out people who make them a lot of money through additional calls/texts and insurance.

I might just pop into the local o2 shop and see if they can do it there, hopefully they will either be able to cancel my net order and upgrade in store (would be nice if they gave me a new phone instore and then the net order arrived aswell)

Anyone know whether they are likely to upgrade me instore even though i have an order in progress online?

You need to have cancelled your online order before they'll upgrade you instore. I've been told this by numerous O2 people now.
 
I would say don't give up!

I ordered on the failover page at about 2pm Monday. Got my order code emails yesterday. Has been on 'in progress' all morning and have just received a dispatch email from 02.

I guess that is you have an order code you'll get one tomorrow!

Most orders went through as 9th July. Mine did anyway. Wait until later today to call anyone. this is what i hear anywho. If you ahve an order number, you'll know by later today one way or the other. If it isn't good news (i am still waiting for mine) cancel then, and get up early tomorrow.
