Bloody O2! They are useless! They cant help you more until u sign a big contract then your fecked!

I think quite alot of new O2 customers got orders in though. Did they not? Through the proper O2 online store (which is also offline now), not the bodged together upgrade bit? Hmm. Joke!

My guess is that anything which did not go through the official upgrade page will be cancelled by O2 - why go to the lengths of creating a (flawless) upgrade process separate to the online shop otherwise??

I havnt had this magic second email yet, I hope selecting delivery before 10am July 11th hasn’t ****ed it up.

Ive just had the
"Thanks for placing your new order. We're just currently processing your request and we'll be in touch shortly to let you if it's been accepted and when it will be dispatched."

well I filled in the details on the failover page.. but so far no mail from O2. Now I don't know if I ordered one or not..

Towards the bottom it states:

Upgrade online.

The iPhone 3G will then be available for upgrade from 11th July at 8.02am in any of our O2 high street stores. Any stores in shopping centres will open at their usual times.

does that not mean we can upgrade instore??

Well spotted. Is that new since 8am this morning? Do you think they now realise online upgrading isn't working and are giving up?

I managed to get my upgrade order through today...

Text to say upgrades where available 08:02

Got past maintenance page at approx 08:15

Upgrade code came through at 08:17

Order confirmation email came through at 08:22

So fingers crossed a 16Gb iPhone will arive on Friday!!! :D

(Between 09:00 and 17:00 I guess - Good job I have the day off! :))

Well, the text I got says:

"You can't upgrade from your iPhone, so you'll need to go on to your MAC or PC and log on" blah blah blah.

You'd have thought they could at least check these things for basic correctness before sending them out!

So long as there is separate stock for upgrades and new customers, the problems shouldn't affect our chances of getting one I guess.

Just spoke to O2 on the phone

Asking if I could 100% upgrade in store on Friday the answer was YES.

However, if you originally purchased your iPhone from CPW then you have to upgrade in a CPW store !!!

not sure if this is incorrect, simply passing on info

I take it to mean the warehouse needs to check they have the numbers to be able to fulfil the order - maybe I'm an optimist.

I think it will depend at what point the o2 site fell over - guess I got the first 2 but the final confirm will follow once the servers are back up - ** I Hope! **

That sounds SO ambiguous! Again the inconsistency by O2 is ridiculous! They are a JOKE!!!!!!!!

On a similar note, What stops us from buying a phone as if we were new users and following the upgrade steps that O2 are showing online?

It simply says we should put our existing SIM cards into the new phone and activate through iTunes.....

Filled that in a good 6 times (at least), each time saying it had failed. This is beyond a joke. Why text everyone at about 7:30am stating upgrade is now available, to then crash immediately. They have been banging on about high demand, and they should've prepared! What they were thinking is beyond me.:mad:

Was there an option for a White one?

After 3 attempts the order went through. In between the site was "too busy".
I had previously phoned on the number quoted when the order stalled. The phone system does not have a facility to deal with iPhone sales (as iphone sales are online only) I got redirected to the iPhoine team. The staff say just keep going on the online ordering, but they also expected there to be a phone option "iphone sales" that WOULD put you through to the iPhone team to deal with issues.

The delivery option is curious. Are they implying we get the iPhone tomorrow, 8th? My order states next day free option - or are they saying next day after the 11th?

It says that in the section for existing O2 customers, but not in the section for existing iPhone customers. My guess is that is for people at the end of their contracts and are due an upgrade anyway.

Did they say why!

I dont mean to shoot the messenger but i think O2 are trying to send some customers away to CPW to quell their incompetence on launch day!

My contract is with O2, not CPW or even Apple!

Are they telling people that if they bought from an Apple store that they need to go there, of course not (nt that apple are selling the new iphone according to reports!)

Its just their generic delivery system. O2 are apparently to cheap to implement a custom checkout for a couple of days so their customers can avoid confusion.

Rumored reports coming in are starting to produce the first few pictures of the O2 3g iPhone Sales Planning department...
