I've tried 5 times and each time it either timed out or I got an error message saying my order can't be processed. I've tried again, after clicking send it's just sitting there with an egg timer for 15 mins or so. :(

I tried calling customer service they said they only accept orders online.

well i just called, and spoke to someone who had no idea a white iphone was going to be available...

but they haven't been told anything, because on the phone they ain't selling anything til friday..

grrr.. i want a white one!

I think the three things that they've screwed up on here are that:

a) they've purposely whipped everyone into a huge frenzy by saying they'll sell out quickly, so everyone's hammering the site even more than they would have done anyway

b) they haven't actually limited it to the people that pre-registered – anyone can go to that link, and clearly everyone is :p

c) they aren't very good in general


I too have been trying ever since I got the text and have had every crash and error message under the sun.
 
Ok, I'm getting pissed off now. Are 02 going to give me back my 2 hours of wasting time? For nothing...

As i said in my extended response... you dont see them sending people to Apple stores as well.

My contract is with O2 not CPW or Apple!

This does not give me much hope that they will be able to send them all out on time for Friday either! :(
 
I've been trying for over half an hour. Sod it, I'm going to the store on Friday. It's not like they are going to sell out that quickly .... if they do then :eek:
 
i rang this morning and was told that i could not upgrade in store as i was a select customer, would not be able to upgrade in store until august etc.

so i have to order via phone or online, and cant order via phone until 11th.

this sucks :(

Have you had a final email confirming everything ok? Does the online tracker still say 'in progress'?
 
Thats it. Screw it. I've been up since 8 trying to get my upgrade through and now they've closed the site.

Trust o2 to screw up selling phones...the one thing they're supposed to be good at.

I think I'll try again in a month or so once the hype has died down. Chances are, knowing o2, there isn't any 3g in my area anyway.
 
More news coming in about a crack squad of Telesales reps, being drafted in at short notice, headed by a distinguished fellow from Barcelona...

If we knew there was enough stock, we wouldn't mind so much.
If we knew there was not a first order, first delivered policy we wouldn't mind so much.

But having pushed things to online only, it's a big wet kipper of a slap in the face. A public embarassment? Not yet, but it has the potential for a fiasco leading up to the launch.
The whole online deal was I'd imagine to alleviate pressure of sales coming through the shops, meaning more contracts and iPhone could be signed for sold and delivered.

that option is becoming more and more probable. Since the 9th June, O2 have had one thing to sort out! And they have f**cked it quite royally. This is such a joke! :mad:

I got two emails straight after ordering. "Thank you for your O2 order" followed by "Important news about your O2 order". Still says In Progress, and although they've taken the money out of my account (twice!) I don't think I/we have yet passed the credit check.

Also, nothing will change until at least Thursday...they'll only be sending them out that afternoon/evening. So it's fingers crossed for us all!

I thought by pre-registering they "allocate" one for you. Not impressed with the way they have handled things. I would have so prefered to go to an o2 shop at midnight like some other countries have done or even in the morning of the 11th. I'll be at work on the 11th and won't be able to activate until I get home anyway. At least I will have it fully charged!
 
I think its safe to say that NOONE at O2 has a clue!!!!!

'Yes' you can upgrade in store from one person, 'No' you cant from another.

Phone salespersons are as bad as those cheap car salespeople you see on TV or in movies.

They are all front and know very little!!!!
