Anyone getting this error?

There has been a problem with taking your order. We apologise for the inconvenience. Please try again.

I'm just wondering if I have something entered that they don't like or if it is just the standard reply.

If the site is not fully Safari or Firefox compatible, then there's irony.

i've tried ordering 3 times now.

first two came up with error messages, last one gave me an order ref but said a check is required even though im on o2 upgrading...

just rang up my bank...all 3 went through!!!

anoyone know how i cancel two of them? i ring o2 and i just get cut off

Me too. Two have gone through!

The lines to o2 are down. They have definitely identified there is a problem with the website as they have now put the maintenance screen up in place of the upgrade screen. I would rather upgrade in store, but this doesn't seem to be possible?

Hello,

Just FYI, I have spoken to 2 o2 shops and existing iPhone users are online only and cannot upgrade in store on Friday.....

This is just fantastic isn't it....? (NOT)

Bri

Hands up who is getting up early on Friday to go to their local O2 shop......

.....and throttle the staff if there are no iPhones left after all this ordering online mishap!!!!!

The store has now go down. If you click upgrade it just says the online store is currently unavailable. Ive being trying order since 8:30.

The text image at the bottom has changed at least, so they're not just falling back on the old page from an hour ago...

If anyone is able to drop into an O2 store prior to Friday - can they find out how the stock is allocated between online ordering and stores? Is it separate stock? The O2 reps can check the database to find out stock levels, so they should be able to have a decent estimate/guess.

Apple must be so proud of their sole UK partner.

It's a little difficult to plan for a launch when you don't know how many units you have to sell.

Apple has restricted the supply of iPhones quite badly to the UK (both O2 and CW are receiving a fraction of what they were both expecting) - CW was only able to confirm from Apple last week how many units it's to receive, which makes it a little difficult for them...

Guys, I think you're missing the point - I got the feeling upgrade from original iPhone will only *ever* be available online.

It's beginning to look this way. Hmm....

This is a joke, i've entered the info 4 times and i keep getting the bloody error page!

I'm goin to a shop on friday...... cannot be arsed with this online malarky!

Make sure you haven't got stealth mode on in your system preferences for Safari this can throw out these errors.

Why why why why??????
They must have a standard online upgrade thing. Why couldn't they have just used that?
Or use one of those ticket applications where it only lets you on when it has capacity? That way when you do get on it can handle the situation.

What are the odds of me just going in the o2 shop at 7am on the 11th and upgrading there?

Queue on Friday anyone?

If i could upgrade in a store i would much rather.

It really is a poor handling by O2...honestly surely it must have been tested? If it was not ready then dont send the upgrade texts out?!

Been trying since 8

Now getting re directed to phone number : 0870 225 7879. All you get is a IVR with options 1 for iphone, Blah Blah Blah good bye.

Who ever was responsible for the implementation of their upgrade website should be fired. I have about 14 upgrade codes now!! Could they have not given you the option to click I ALREADY HAVE AN UPGRADE CODE!!!

I can't believe their servers are that busy. The maintenance page is holding up well under the pressure!

Crap management.

Hey, if they're gonna open every O2 store at 7 or 8am on Friday to sell them, and they're allowing existing iPhone customers to upgrade in-store (which they're not, currently, it says existing iPhone customers can only upgrade online), then I'm all for it.

Hopefully these halfwits will get this stuff working before too long.

If the existing users can only upgrade online then what the F*** are O2 doing letting new customers pre order now when they have more chance of getting one in store on friday!!!!

This is the BIGGEST farce in th ehistory of farces.....

Also, if I get an iPhone for every time I've entered my details and then clicked 'send', then I may have a few spare...

The most recent time, before the whole maintenance thing, didn't actually say I had failed... it just went back to the empty form...

This is a joke

Looks like, for our loyalty, us first gen iPhone owners will be the last to get the iPhone 3G.

The website is a shambles - once got as far as entering my upgrade code, only for it to crash, then it was back to the failover page, and now the old 'unavailable' page.

Disgraceful!
