I really don't like the sound of this.

If demand is greater than the supply, my guess is that it will be the 'loyal upgraders' who will lose out, followed very rapidly by the remaining online orderers.

I have a feeling that I may be kept waiting a couple of weeks for mine.

I have to say that I would not be rushing to order on line if I were a new O2 customer or an O2 non-iPhone customer. O2 have the perfect excuse to keep you waiting a fortnight. They've put it in black and white. Go to a shop on Friday because they have to ensure that they will have stock there otherwise they will look complete idiots.

As an existing iPhone customer I have no choice but to order online.

I agree, am a new customer and I am waiting to go instore on Friday

Do I need to give them my PAC code today to transfer my number, or do I give it to them on Friday when i receive the phone?

Me neither, give up as now worried first come/first serve issue, off to CPW on Friday pretty sure will get one for defo on the 11th that way...

Yeah to be honest I think you are safer to go to a store and get one. I live in Birmingham, there's countless of O2 and CPW stores here, and an Apple store too. There is no chance that they will all sell out, and at least you'll be guaranteed to get one on the day. O2 online is a shambles and I can see a lot of people who order online being disappointed come Friday.

Why put it back online, if it can't cope? Surely they assumed the same amount of people would try to upgrade?!

It crashed on me.
Having to start again.
Grrrrr

Oh and as it is a new package and a new contract will my additional texts bundle and insurance be cancelled? Will I have to sign up for them again?

Guys, chill - I know a lot of people would like to get the phone on Friday, but if you're an existing iPhone user what's the rush? From Friday we'll get to play with the new firmware like everyone else, just order your upgrade next week once all the cockups due to them not being able to deal with the massive volume of early sales are over. I'm sure there will be enough stock for everyone to get them within a week or so after that, after all there were no shortages at all after the last launch.

When I click the iPhone and contract I want, it takes me to a page and tells me no 'bolt ons' are available', and then tells me my basket is empty!!

That might just be the best bit of advice I've seen for a long time! Good point, very well presented!

I requested one upgrade code and so far they have sent me 4 in a row yet the swirly sign remains on the screen :D What a joke!

Is this what it took them from 8.30am to build??

Stupid spinning wheel!

Ill spin wheel their face.
:apple:

my codes are coming thru via text but the screen doesn't refresh so i can enter it!! lol..

its been 3+ hours now and its a farking barking joke now..

who the hell tested the website before go live??????

This is getting silly. I applied for another damned upgrade code, but the site took my straight to the enter details page. So I filled it in, and it dumped me straight back at the 'enter mobile number for upgrade code' screen; no confirmation, nothing. Now the site won't let me sign in so I can't even check my orders page to see if it went through. And THEN I get the upgrade code text message through to my phone!

I'm surprised O2 know which end of the phone you're supposed to speak into.

We'll have none of your common sense and reasoned behaviour round here thank you very much :)

Great for those of you who own an iPhone already. For us poor people who are buying our first, the online ordering was supposed to make our life easier, without having to leave the house on friday. No such luck.
