Hi,

Just phoned O2, spoke to a lady.

"Its all a bit of a mess to be quite honest because everyone wants an iPhone"

An honest O2 employee, thought I would never see the day!

LOL, hmm,

Im not gona order online, too much mess by the looks of it, im going for 16gb in black, will be at the Bullring, Birmingham, UK, before 7.02am! Plus got video interviews and photos to take, will be worth it.

Has anyone managed to get an Upgrade through? Reading through all this it seems one new customers have been successful. I'm glad our loyalty is being rewarded here...

From O2's point of view it makes no sense to give existing customers priority - they're already paying money. New customers are increased income.

Ah yes, but apple have insisted that existing iphone users get priority. This appears to not be the case at the moment and O2 are in breach of agreement with Apple.

Do you mean existing iPhone customers or existing O2 non-iPhone customers? I'm the latter and managed to order.

Yes, I did get an upgrade through - very early this morning though. I've posted about it several times on this thread...

I doubt it as we are all sat at our computers trying desperately to upgrade. Constantly hitting that refresh button.

Got as far as the Payment page on the Upgrade site ... just been kicked out to the default form again ... WHICH STILL DOES NOT WORK!!!

Have you got a link or any details on that? Heopefully we won't see any Rogers' retribution style action happening to O2. It would not be fun to see UK's iPhone stock take a hit due to O2's incompetences.

Just spoken to my friend who works at the Hucknall store.

They've received all the info this morning about the launch - and existing iPhone customers WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO UPGRADE IN STORE.

I'm not a happy bunny - spent all morning trying to upgrade and had no luck whatsoever!

Just ordered a black 16gb via carphone whorehouse! Delivered to store on Friday! w00t!

I went into one of the stores in Kingston and was told the opposite...that existing iphone customers CAN upgrade in store as of 7:00am on Friday...yes 7:00am

If he works at an O2 store then he will have a way of contacting Head Office that does not involve being put on hold for ages. Can you ask him on behalf of all of us for them to please sort this huge mess out and pronto.

what about existing non-iPhone O2 customers?

sounds a rough deal.. there's going to be a lot of pee'd off people who won't be getting their iPhones comes friday!!

i don't work too far from hucknall..i could go into that store on way to work.. leemo, can you PM me his number please?

If my eyes don't deceive me, I may have just been given a confirmation number for my upgrade order.

Not sure it is worth the paper it is written on, but will keep you posted!

Arse. CPW selling 16Gb. Just after I caved in and went for an 8Gb from O2! But they referred me for credit anyway, which is a farce when I'm on a similarly priced contract with T-Mobile.

Can someone confirm for me about the upgrade code... I have a feeling I got the code then got redirected to the failsafe version which doesn't give you any status.

I Got it to send me another code but won't go through to next stage yet! It goes back to the rubbish basic form!

It appears you can get more than one upgrade code - It must be a security measure to make sure your not pretending to upgrade or something!

It seems existing customers are being punished!

O2 should have let us all upgrade FIRST before putting it up on the site for everyone else after all everyone can go to a shop and buy it and we can't!
