I filled in the 'other' online form and got this message

Complaining is great but if all the phones sell out before my connection works it won't help!
 
Ok i have just phoned o2 customer services and this is how it went:



Me: will the iphone 3g pay as you go be available to buy in the 11th

o2: yes it will be in all stores.

Me: :eek: ... are you 100% positive?

o2: yes, i have the information in front of me here. The pay and go iphone from o2 will be available for all customers on the 11th july 2008.

Me: are you sure it isnt just the contract option that will be available because the website says PAYG will be coming later in the year?

o2: it is definatly being released on the 11th july 2008.

Me: i have had o2 stores tell me it will not be available for PAYG on that date.

o2: no, i have the information and i can confirm that the PAYG iPhone 3G will be available on the 11th July 2008.



well there you go, i couldnt believe it.

Bollocks to this upgrade shenanigans, I say. I think I'll wait and see what the 2.0 software's like and then decide if it's worth bothering with.

Exactly how I feel. Stick with my 1st gen for now and enjoy the 2.0 software.

Besides, now that the white 16GB is not available at launch in any case it is not much of a wrench. :D

i did ask to speak to his supervisor but he said they are unable to take a call. i just phoned again and another person said that it will be released on payg on 11th.

do they know what they are talking about or not?

I concur. **** it, I might be able to wait a few weeks and get a white one.

Also, I think that the title of this thread should be changed, since "O2 Now Taking Orders" seems quite excessively optimistic to me.
 
All I got was an automated message saying that the Iphone 3G has generated so much excitement they cant take my call and I should check their site. LOL
 
I really don't know what to do here...

I can't sit here indefinately waiting for the page to work!

And I am concerned that I will not be able to upgrade to the 16GB when I do finally get it to work if I go out in the meantime!

I've been trying to upgrade to a 16GB for hours now, and I've lost count of the times I've filled in one form or another, only to get precisely nowhere!

I've got to the stage where the only thing I want to fill in now is O2's face! :mad:

I cannot believe I have wasted half a day on O2's ridiculous excuse for an online service. The damed fools! :mad:

like most companies will always lie to all their customers current and future, all they care about is their bonus at the end of the year and if they know that they are already going to get that why bother but any more effort into making their customers happy!!! selfish bastards

Try ticking accept t&c box and leaving the info spaces blank It gives you the exact same message LOL!
 
Ok, Here's how I got on...

Me: Hi, Im calling concerning the iPhone 3G as I've heard alot of conflicting things...Some have said it will be released on PAYG on the 11th and some say later in the year, could you confrim anything for me please?

O2: Hi, yeah, from what I've been told the phone will be released this Friday on prepay but you will need to consult our website for the pricing info...

Me: Oh right, well your website is having a few problems at the mo...

O2: Call your local store and see what they know.
 
The failover O2 upgrade page just worked for me. It said thank you for the order. Has this happened for anyone else too? Have you received an e-mail to confirm it? If so, how long did this take? I've been trying all day! If this finally works i'll be relieved. Still livid though! Such a useless system. Thanks.
