again, can someone post the failover link/
and what is AJAX?

that's all you can get now... it seems that they have finally taken down the real site in favor of the failover one

I submitted on the failover one this morning about 0930 and so far I've not heard anything more... no e-mail no text nothing!

the https://upgrades.o2.co.uk page now seems to be being directed straight away to the failover page with no thought about trying to get to the original page that was supposed to be used to order the new iPhone

is this happening to anyone else?!?!?

I noticed this too. Was just about to ask the same thing. So yes, it is happening to me. But it works even when sent blank. Stupid.

If it really is true I seriously doubt Apple with ship them another batch of phones by Thursday.

It just says check back for more information, so i doubt it as well, it'll probably say how you can get them after the launch date when they get their act together.

Ooh, ooh, maybe they'll let you register your interest on the 10th because you're a valued customer and then if you leave them your details they'll get in touch so you can be first in line!!!!

:D

Coming soon, for valued customers! Being hit over the head with a blunt object to say "thanks for being a sucker, kids". Pre-register your interest here.

Just ordered and got this...

Thank you for your order. We are processing this and will contact you if there are any complications with the details you have provided.

Does this mean it has worked?, I have no order number ?????

Just submitted the fail safe form and got a message that my order was being processed but didn't get an order number. Has anyone else used this form got an order number?

dunno if this is just me but when you go to https://upgrades.o2.co.uk/failover/ok.html you get the same

""Thank you for your order. We are processing this and will contact you if there are any complications with the details you have provided.""

page as you do when you clicked send, does this mean our info has been sent or is this just a random page that we are being directed to!?!?!

arr this is so painful!!

That page about complications is the fall back version which doesn't confirm anything or send you an e-mail.

I did that as well as I couldn't get the real site to load. I got as far as payment and then it crashed on me.

As for if those of us that got the fall back site will actually get an upgrade on time - who knows?

I can say quite honestly that I am absolutely beyond angry at o2. I have been trying since 9am to order and got no where while new customers came in and got their phones ordered immediately.

Those of us who did not get a confirmation number may now end up having to wait till next week or longer for our phones while other new customers can go into shops and buy it on friday.

I hope o2 sort this out and at least give us the option to upgrade in store now after the mess they made.

Please feel free to call them and shout at them!

Once again, the failsafe form goes through even if you submit a blank one, and tick the Accept T&C's.

Try it.

if you bothered to read above you would see that the same is happening to everyone else, don't start thinking your a special case!!

@rjackman

I think i got the same message ie "thankyou for your order. we are processing this and will contact you if there are any complications with the details you have provided."

Do you think this is just a brush off to stop people from continuing to try and order? ie it means there will be a complication and we'll call you once we can tell our arses from our elbows!

They should have had a BASIC ORDER FORM that collected what we wanted, and u then got a basic email saying, bla bla order has been taken...

These orders then got added to a CRON on there ordering servers. This way they could put the orders threw in batches... so they control it all...

When the order was done and all ok, u get a email to say *YEAH U LUCKY FOOKER YOUR GETTING 1 ON LUNCH DAY* etc etc

I got the same at about 2:20. Really wondering what this means. No order showing up at My O2 yet.

I think it is raising manual data which can be inputted later. As said, even if you do not enter any text in the field the 'form' still goes through

The site asks for everything needed to upgrade, this can easily be entered in by someone at O2

I'm just a little bit pissed that my card details are 'out in the open' so to speak

SCREEEEAAAAMMMMM !!!!!

How annoying, this has been the most frustrating experience of my life!!

Been trying to order an upgrade from iPhone 1 since 8:10 this morning, I have 7 upgrade codes, managed to choose my phone and tariff 3 times and still not a successful order.

Whoever was responsible for this utter fiasco deserves the boot.

Grrrrrrrrrrrr !!!!!!!!!!

Right...just got off the phone to O2.

They are now processing all the orders from the failback form by hand, hence no order number etc... so they will be going into a mailbox somewhere and some poor so and so is plowing through them.

There is no anticipated time at which they will get back to us as to whether we have got one - it could be later today(doubtful) it could be Friday.

They have put orders on hold to assess how many they have taken, and then on Thursday providing they have online stock left they will re-open the web site ordering.

The O2 shops have a different stock - ie the online upgrades/orders get X phones and the Shops get Y. The two not being mixed/matched to make up a shortfall in one or the other.

When I go to the upgrades.o2.co.uk page I get the following.
