Sorry if this annoys current iPhone owners...

I don't own an iPhone I've been waiting for the 3G one for ages now. I'm gonna be really annoyed if all the people who want to upgrade their 1st generation models get all the O2 stock first thing in the morning when the shops open. Imagine the joy you could give to a new iPhone user by letting us have the new models on release day and be content with your old one for another week or so!

I made a chart too:

iPhone - Guaranteed rip-off prices and missing features and all the other phones in the world have
Any other phone - More features, more money still in your wallet
;)

Here is a chart I made to help you choose your tariff.

I don't really understand the point of the chart - if you use 1,200 minutes a month, the "most expensive" tariff could well work out cheaper than the "cheapest" tariff on your chart - the true cost of the iPhone (as with any other phone) depends on how much you use it!

You're not taking into account minutes in that.

http://homepage.mac.com/tmhoyle/iphone is still around.. that could be turned into a chart.. I expect a series of graphs showing costs vs. minutes used per month would work well - much easier now you don't have to take PayG into account.

imagine if you sat on a website for 6 hours trying to get your upgrade but couldn't?
You should of brought it online,
In the end don't blame iPhone owners if they get a lot of the stock blame 02

£102.40 per month for first 6 months, £112.40 per month for remainder is cheapest for me according to that!

Confirms how well my previous chart works :p

Errrrm Yes. But since when is France Czechoslovakia?
And I think WWII started 1st September 1939…

Wrong thread for this, but since you insisted. ;)

:D

Well thats what started it all off. And im only going from that web site on a quick google search.

From wiki: In Europe, Germany and Italy were becoming bolder. In March 1938, Germany annexed Austria, again provoking little response from other European powers.[28] Encouraged, Hitler began making claims on the Sudetenland; France and Britain conceded these for a promise of no further territorial demands.[29] Germany soon reneged, and in March 1939 fully occupied Czechoslovakia.

Thats the end of that joke!:D

I'll be at my local one too, Dragonmaster, good luck!

i think i'm with you on this one.

As a current iPhone user i am pleased that the user base will increase come Friday.

But i do believe that we should be rewarded for our loyalty and paying the amount we did for the first handset and the original tariffs!

I hope and i am sure that there will be enough for those to upgrade and those new joiners.
:D

Yer it would be good if the original iPhone owners were rewarded somehow and that does again bring up the question of what did o2 mean on their website when they mentioned something about a reward earlier today?!?!

Sounds like a PayG tariff (since it's the only one split like that). Sounds a lot for cheapest though.

You can change the maths quite a bit using bolt-ons eg. the unlimited text one is only £7.50 a month so you end up with an effective cap on the contract cost if your bill is mostly texts.

Fair point, now I remember how much you had to pay! Let's just hope there's enough stock for all us.

As a current O2 customer too, I believe I should also be rewarded for my loyalty. As such, it is really all these new customers, who have been able to order today that a am peeved at. I would just very much like to get my hands on my first iPhone on friday.

i am pretty sure the bonus was being able to upgrade early!

though the choice of a free bolt-on would be nice:rolleyes:

I ordered my 16GB black iPhone 3G just fine here!

I got the o2 mail at 07:36 this morning and the o2 online store didn't open till 08:02 and my order completed at 08:09 and got my order comfirmation mail at 08:12, I dunno what all the fuss is about, seemed all straight forward to me.

However still waiting for my bloody MacPro to arrive from Ireland almost a week since ordering and shipping days before the weekend.....better bloody be here before the iPhone or I will go ape!

Are you a new customer? I am and also managed to order by about 0810. Had my order confirmation email a few mins later, but as of yet no follow up to that - which the order confirmation email says there will be:

"We're just currently processing your request and we'll be in touch shortly to let you if it's been accepted and when it will be dispatched."

Right, I've spoken to a nice guy on the phone from the O2 Complaints Dept, who sounded very clued up and I was very sympathetic with him (always helps!).

I explained my situation, which is I placed an order on the failover order page, got through to the end but heard nothing.

He said that if i got through to that stage then they will have received my order. All orders placed through the failover order page are undergoing a manual audit tonight/tomorrow, in the order of them receiving each request. Once they have processed each request they will send a confirmation email to the relevant customer.

So hopefully those who got through on the failover page should hear something in the next 24 hours. Hope this helps!
