I'm in Chicago and it came today. I've installed it (it took about an hour ) and I'm getting acquainted with the interface.
So was there an option for an "erase and install", or just "upgrade", or something else?

I'm in Sacramento, Ca.
I decided to just do the Upgrade option, as I have spent way too much time recently downloading a lot of cool apps/widgets/etc.
However, If I have ANY problems that I believe to be OS Upgrade related (slow downs, etc), I will not hesitate to do a full wipe.
Its running fine, but I've only used it for 15 minutes or so

So, on the UTD disc, you were given the option to erase and install?

I see a pattern here, everyone in Canada got confirmation email from apple saying it shipped on 25th via Canadian Post/Purolator and delivers by Oct. 29th!
Now! No one received their UTD disc today (29th), and freakin' tracking # does not work. Canadian Post does not exist, it's Canada Post, you shipping idiots. We don't even know if it's coming by Purolator or Regular Canada Post Courier/Mail? Can any one confirm who delivered your package or received at all in Ontario or elsewhere? Otherwise apple is full of S*** and we'll get the disc by Nov. 2 as stated by resellers.

Yea I guess. I didnt check to see if I could actually slect the option or not.
But yea, during the installation, you click "Options" or something along those lines and up pops the installation method.
I am not talking about retailers like Best Buy, etc., just the authorized apple resellers that have been around for years before apple store existed, they provide macs to loyal businesses, freelance customers that have service accounts. They were told by apple that UTD discs will arrive Nov. 2 or later so they can upgrade their customers new computers.

Got my UTD disk yesterday (UK) and there IS an "Erase & Install" option, I am sure becasue I used it !
Only problem I have now is the "ACL found but not expected on" error in repair permissions (which I believe to be a fairly widespread problem).

Nope doppler, still nothing in the mail today. But knowing the speed by which the Post works it could still take at least a week...
Depending on the Belgian Postal Service I doubt we will have it delivered before Christmas,

the resellers etc have nothing to do with the bloody up to date you are wrong...there is no nov2nd date or anythin! wow just stop making **** up..

Take a Pill and relax Eric, that is the confirmation they got from apple. have you received your UTD yet? It's almost 12pm and no deliveries. Not everyone got discs mailed as there is also back order now. Sometime this week is also Nov. 2.
Since I now know that my UTD disc is coming via Canada Post, I also know that it won't be showing up today again. The postman has already been here today and had nothing for me. They only deliver once a day so maybe tomorrow or a week from now. This is bullsh*t.
Crap, I'm not at home right now. Did they ring a door bell/need a signature? And does it fit in a (regular sized) mail slot?

Well, my confirmation email said it would be delivered no later than the 30th by USPS... All the mail man had for me today was a magazine. So I'm bummed. I've been backing everything up because I wanted to do an erase/install because I got something messed up with my short name. So now I'll wait and wonder if it will be here tomorrow, or if it got lost... Tracking is useless.
