I phoned the Apple Store here in Sydney on Monday (as I was frustrated it hadn't arrived by Friday!!) and they said UTD dvds are manufactured and shipped standard post from Shanghai!!! Retail copies are manufactured here in Australia though. I think thats pretty unfair and grossly misleading of Apple! Cheapskates!

Am astounded that it has arrived in Tasmania before here!! Have fingers and toes crossed that tomorrow will be the lucky day.

When did you order your UTD disc? Perhaps they ran out of the initial ones they had in Australia because I'm looking at my packaging right now and the postage paid sticker is Australia Post.

I can't see how else a package can get to Hobart before Sydney. That's crazy talk!
 
Got mine Tuesday afternoon and Im in Atlanta, GA. Im going to wait until the first update to install it though because Im still trying to get familiarized with Tiger. I work for the USPS also, so I can tell you that unless its shipped Priority or better, there's no telling when you'll get it. It will usually come within a week though.

Thats weird.... Last time I called Apple, the rep told me that all the UTD disc were packed & shipped from SYD on friday night....
Mine arrived on Monday morning....

How was yours shipped? First Class? Parcel Post? Media Mail?
 
So I did end up just going to a local BestBuy and picking up the retail box.
$10 and 5 days wasted on the UTD program but Leopard retail is now installed and working great. I suppose when the UTD disc does arrive it can be a backup.
 
What the F*** Apple?
Finally a package from Apple in the mail today! So running up the stairs, opening it, and it only contains the invoice! Calling Apple support, and they tell me the actual package might be lost in the mail, but since they have an estimated delivery date that says november 5th in their system, they cannot reorder it for me before that date… Argghh! This happens after waiting over 6 weeks to get my €3200 MacBook Pro…
 
Well, you have actually recieved both the package and the invoice.. I should download a copy via Bittorrent, because I'm intended to own a copy now. :p

Well, no love for me, its still in California.

Apple's website says shipped 10/28. My notification email says shipped 10/29 with delivery by 10/31. Now that the tracking number finally works on Fedex's website, Fedex did not even have it in their hands until 10/30 and expects delivery on 11/5. Really would have liked to have it this week (I'm in Missouri and ordered on 10/24, so I know I was later than many).

Compare this to Newegg - I ordered my Windows XP disc from them yesterday afternoon with standard shipping. I'll have it today.
 
Got my UTD disc via USPS yesterday and did an "Erase & Install" last night. Well, two actually, since I screwed up installing iLife on the first one, doh.

Anyway, in Virginia here.
 
Mine supposedly shipped Monday, but in actuality it did Tuesday.. in which I was told via tracking would show up on Nov 1st, but now it says Nov 2nd.
 
TNT attempted to deliver mine yesterday but I wasn't home so I called to have it re-delivered to my office today. So I called at 3pm only to be told it didn't go out so now have to wait till tommorow!!:mad:

I have the same scenario, same numbering, it was shipped by Purolator, I was supposed to receive the order yesterday(Oct. 29). Just got off the phone with apple and they told me I should receive the order in the next 2 days. He said apple is overwhelmed with so many orders and Purolator has delays in US. Like my friend said was right... Nov 2 or later. Those who got now are lucky, apparently if you ordered late last week/this week it's on back order. Apple has sold over 2 million including UTDs.

UPDATE: Another day went by and Leopard has not leaped onto my desk. Oh well, just going to wait 'til tomorrow or day after...
 
Still not here. It shipped on the 26th, and I am in Michigan... Oh well, back to nonstop studying for my midterm...
 
STILL nothing in Ohio. Infuriating, given that some received their retail orders a full week ago now.

The "electronic delivery" method is looking better and better...
 
i called apple again

I already got mine with purolator because i paid for expresss shipping

but other orders in canada are shipped by canada post and will be here by the 6th of nov (she said prob the 2nd)

reason why i called again? cause my sister ordered one for the macbook she got last week...so yeah
 
I am in Vancouver Canada. Submitted my UTD request on Sat the 27th, and checked the Apple website for my order status on Mon (29th) and it says it's been shipped via USPS with a "delivers by" on the 30th. I didn't pay for any additional shipping so I was surprised to see that.

I then check the Apple website on Tue, and the order status has been updated saying that the order was shipped via USPS on the 30th and that it delivers by the 1st. It's funny how they change the dates like that, especially the "shipped date" as this is not an estimate but an actual date.

I do quite a bit of online shopping and also thought the format of the USPS tracking number looked odd. I entered it in their site and nothing came up. Then I read the above posts and saw that Apple is using FedEx as well, so I looked up my tracking number there and voila.

It says the item has been shipped International Priority (which is a next day service), which I am very impressed considering I didn't pay for that additional service. I think it would be a waste for anyone at this point IMO to pay for express shipping since it seems like Apple is throwing it in just to keep up with their promises.
 
I ordered my UTD copy last Friday, received a confirmation for shipping yesterday but this was followed today by a notice. Due to high demand of the product, delivery has been pushed back to 14 November :(

it makes me want to buy it! at retail but i dont have 130bucks at all!
