I just called Apple and had them hold my package at the sorting facility so I can collect it tonight rather than waiting till Monday.

mine left Anchorage at 1:57pm yesterday, and then nothing, just as in your case. Expedited as well.
Oddly enough, my original receipt estimated delivery at February 7th, but when the computer shipped from China this Tuesday that had changed to February 3rd.

I just went to the Customize a 17" iMac Core duo Page on Apple.com and I dont see an option there for the Video Card upgrade...

Well...I finally have my iMac. I would like to add that it is nothing short of spectacular.
My only concern is a dead pixel in the center of the monitor...that isn't noticable unless the monitor is displaying something completely black ( Like frontrow...which apple better fix quickly). Everything runs great. Doom 3 runs....well lets just say it runs. Photoshop CS runs better than it did on my 12" G4 PB.
The 20" inches are huge! Man I got a boner looking at the screen!
The sound is ok...for internal speakers. I'm saving up for some LogiTech Z5500's.
9.98 out of 10....it would have gotten a perfect 10 if frontrow didn't look like it needed a vcr type tracking adjustment...and the dead pixel...didn't die.
About frontrow...the switch from desktop to frontrow is ****ing sweet!
Don't bother trying to watch DVD's through frontrow...it looks like ****.
I'm in love...and things will only get better as more apps become universal.

Great, now it just landed in Kentucky. So China, to Phillipines, to Japan, to Alaska, to Kentucky ... and it's going to California. You think there'd be a better route.

What's wrong with FrontRow for DVDs? I've heard nothing but good things...anyone else have bad luck w/DVDs in frontrow on the 20 incher? (Not to hijack the thread, just interested 😉 )

Usually when your blowing up an image or movie, the bigger the screen the worse it'll look. I mean there are some exceptions but, going from about 800x600 resolution on a TV to 1920 x 1200 on a 20" iMac will make a difference. But, there's nothing you can do, at least recent DVDs are much better looking than the previous ones. 😀
This is probably in the wrong thread since I'm ordering an iPod, but I just want to complain about the delivery as well 🙂

Now Fdx is trying to tell me that at local facility means at the airport in a container 😕 😕 😕 This is after confirming with me last night that it was at the local facility and would be available for pick up today...
LOL we are following the same path Funk. I too was told I could pick-up the package at the depot but when I arrived I was told, like you, that it was in the Airport in a container!😡 😡
I can't pick it up until Moday morning now. I have to say I have found the Fedex phone customer service staff to be fairly useless and on occassions rude. They have very little ability to tell you where you're package is and the left hand doesn't seem to know what the right hand is doing.
Here's hoping they don't mess things up on Monday and send my iMac on the truck and I waste another trip into town. They also refuse to let you call the depot and find out if you're package is there, which seems completely counter-intuitive. Especially after paying the extra $33 for 2 day shipping, I am not a happy camper.
I'll be avoiding Fed-ex in the future.

Thank you for your inquiry. I have checked the delivery of your
shipment
in our system. Our system does show an Airline off load scan, and your
shipment is likely back in transit. I show that the package is
currently
on hold awaiting clearance by Customs.
Unfortunately, importing country organizations are entirely separate
entities based upon government procedures. During this process, UPS
works
with the government of the importing country to quickly provide any
information necessary to assist in clearing the packages. While the
package is in the clearance process, and until it is released, any
delay
is beyond the control of UPS. Once a package has been released, we are
then able to resume the transit to the destination.
Please contact us if you need any additional assistance.

On Apples Support page the 20" Intel iMacs are going through some screen tearing and what looks like "speed bumps" in the Front Row area of the screen. Also some have had problems where under about this Mac, yes they have 256 VRAM, but when using the hardware test disc it fails and only gives 128 VRAM 😕 One last thing is some say the screen looks "fuzzy or blurry" and a clean/custom install has taken care of this..FWIW if any notice this after getting their new baby 😉
