No UK customers anywhere? Mine is currently in Shanghai.

Ordered a 20" build-to-order about 10 mins after the MWSF keynote; it arrived on Feb 2 - about 4 days earlier than the Apple estimate. Here's my delivery schedule:

01 feb 06 90 00 delivered Apple Shanghai
31 jan 06 86 14 booking slot obtained NLAMS07
31 jan 06 30 10 departed direct NLAMS07
31 jan 06 40 69 accept scanned at EDC NLAMS07
28 jan 06 32 55 flight departed Kuehne & Nagel Shanghai
28 jan 06 32 05 Flight Booked Kuehne & Nagel Shanghai
26 jan 06 00 04 Picking confirmed, EDI received Apple Shanghai
26 jan 06 30 61 Consignment Booking received from supplier Kuehne & Nagel Shanghai
26 jan 06 30 63 handover at supplier Apple Shanghai

UPS got the thing to my door a day after it reached "90 00 delivered " status.

Good luck!

Cheers.

TNT are delivering mine. They delivered my iBook and PowerBook as well. They arrived within 3 days. I've decided to just stop looking, as I should really be doing work instead ;)

Speaking of Hours, not Days...

Location Date Local Time Activity
ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, FL, US 02/07/2006 8:05 A.M. OUT FOR DELIVERY

I really, Really hope that the front office at my apartment complex accepts the package as I just signed a release form allowing them to do so.

Please don't balk at the package's size, please don't balk at the package's size....

After a bunch of delays, the iMac is finally supposed to get here today. I woke up this morning at 7:30, skipped class and am still waiting infront of the window (it's 1:00 now). If this thing doesn't get here today, i am going to kill myself!!!

I can visualize the oily handprints and condensated breathmarks left behind on the window as you first catch sight of the delivery truck.

Anticipation is half the fun, right?

You'd think so. Cos once it arrives, you take it out the package, install it on in 10 minutes flat and boot it up, you soon realise that everything is exactly the same as your current Mac and it's just faster.

EXACTLY.
Odd that it's the exact same experiecne as on my mini - except alot faster.
Though, the screen is amazing and the speed is very noticable.

well, sort of...i'm migrating users and files (not apps) over from my old machine so setting up will take a little longer (1 hr. 13 min right now)...but, it shouldn't be too long once all the info is transferred. just have to install all my apps again.

It's the downside about already having Tiger. I prefer new operating systems over new computers, as they take longer to explore, and even a few weeks later you can suddenly find a cool new feature. Still, I shall enjoy watching DVDs from bed. Oh, erm, I mean, doing work on a larger screen without the annoying loading times on my PowerBook. I used a friends G5 iMac and couldn't believe the speed difference, so bought the Intel iMac the next day. The 1.5GB RAM should be a pleasant surprise.

all i have to say is that UPS sucks. its been out for delivery all day on the truck and i saw it earlier today so i got giddy. my luck, it just kept on going.

to top it off i've seen 6 fed ex trucks....

stupid chinese new year and stupid UPS ;)

I surmise that the chinese, as part of there New Year celebration, mark all packages with "Deliver this Package LAST / Contents Eagerly Awaited."

Still waiting myself...

Well my baby arrived! It's everything I hoped for. Will take some getting used to the 20" screen though!:)

Here's hoping they'll get a patch out soon for the front row/graphics intensive tearing problems on the 256mb video card.

Overall I'm a very happy camper today.

Right on! Took Delivery of mine as well... LOVE IT!

Although i too have he front row problems with the 256 card and 2 gig ram???

whats up with that?

but she is a screemer and whispr quiet... evens runs photoshop, reason, and peak at an acceptable level for me... much faster that running native on my 800mhz PB G4!

Hi!

After waiting ages for Apple to make the 1,42GHz -> 1,5GHz update official on the Mac mini I found myself watching the keynote in awe. Now I'm replacing my 4 year old P4 1,8GHz 512MB with a 20" iMac with extra 1GB of RAM, should stop all that swapping (I seldom do anything intensive besides watching some vids) and general stickyness.

Let's just hope the local store here in Finland have gotten their hands on some Intel iMacs or otherwise it'll be May (with my luck) until I get it :D

still setting up my computer...transferred most files via migration assistant, but decided to manually install all apps again, just to make sure. with only 512mb of ram (gig chip should be coming later this week), it's taking a bit to do everything (and firewire is SLOW!), but i should be done soon.

some initial thoughts:

- installed screensavers do not work...need to get updates
- wacom, powermate, and other preference panes do not work. the only ones that work are menumeters and widget preferences, which are both UB
- mac the ripper works fine, albeit a bit slowly
- toast 7 works fine
- DropCopy works fine
- Ejector works
- running intel Handbrake at about 23fps

once the ram comes things should be okay.

well i finally got it tonight at about 6:15. too bad i had to go to a test 5 minutes later. so much for that test!

i imported my itunes from my old dell laptop and was playing with photo booth and it just freezes up. i was in awe.

a hard reset fixed that and since then i've been floored.

UPS still sucks...;)

yeah, i had to do a hard reset while using frontrow, too. frontrow is not a very good app...

Ah, welcome aboard!

I'm still waiting here.....

07 Feb 2006 12:07 Shanghai Shipped From Originating Depot
06 Feb 2006 09:56 Shanghai Consignment Received At Transit Point

They reckon Monday, but I'll put on anything lucky by and said person, and pray to any type of god, so that it arrives before or on Friday

I ordered a new iMac 20" with upgraded video ram to 256. That's the only cusomizing I did. That was Feb. 1 and my estimated ship date was Feb 7. Anyway, it didn't ship yesterday and now today my new estimated ship date is Feb 17 with an expected delivery date of Feb 27. That's just ridiculous.
