A moment of silence for what could have been today.

...

...

Anyone feel like photoshopping it?

Today's update was classic pokemon from the last game. Anybody want to be that tomorrow will be classic characters?!

Looks like "classic" updates are in now. It would be nice if they threw in all the old characters, but like the previous classic updates; they're not updated too much. Have them in a sub roster or line on the character selection screen or something.

Or maybe even a classic Melee mode, where you can only battle with Melee characters, maps and items. But in 16:9 and with the control setup. I'd like that. Lovely component.

I think not updating the Melee characters would be terrible.

Some of the melee charactars are back (all of the obvious ones that aren't new already) and they have new moves,Super Smash etc.

I expect all new characters to be back.

after reading some other forums, i'm about 50/50 for a us delay to the spring (i was previously leaning twoards another delay).

reasons i say against another us delay:

1. release dates of the previous editions.
Nintendo All-Star Dairantou Smash Brothers Nintendo 01/21/99 JP
Super Smash Bros. Nintendo 04/26/99 US
Super Smash Bros. Nintendo 11/19/99 EU
Dairantou Smash Brothers DX Nintendo 11/21/01 JP
Super Smash Bros. Melee Nintendo 12/02/01 US
Super Smash Bros. Melee Nintendo 05/24/02 EU
Super Smash Bros. Melee Nintendo 05/31/02 AU

2. some have said the eu release paper could be an error, and we have no official statement from nintendo of further delays.

3. another delay, especially if pushed after june will kill the game off i think, and i think we could have a bad game/nobody interested in the game. lose/lose here. and what will the site have to update?

reasons for another us delay:

1. this is nintendo, the delay master.

2. i'm hearing the game isn't quite finished in bug testing (questionable sources)

3. mario kart and wii fit could push this game further back, into next christmas even.

The problem with Nintendo is they create and publish their own stuff for their own consoles. They pretty much answer to no one.

They should get a crack on though.

Although I'm sad there have been delays, I'm glad that they are putting more time into it. I mean it's one of their most famed series, they gotta do it right. I'm surprised Melee turned out so great and was released only a few months after the release of the GC, props to that. It's such an amazing game, and came out so early on in GC's life. I'm hoping Brawl to be of the same caliber.

...t....t...Team Battle? Is this a Co-op Mode? A la Strikers?

If so, YES YES AND YES! I've been hoping for this on Brawl ever since I played Strikers. I always have a friend over to play Strikers with me with the online co-op.

Melee was a launch title in the UK! Honestly, what better game to launch with? 2008 is just around the corner and me and Caroline and about to have our millionth battle on it :)

I hope Team Battle is co-op too. But might it just be 2v2 battles?

2v2 with one of the people being in the room is what I hope for :)

But it's the same setup as Strikers, right? You choose if you want to battle with friends or random opponents, then you choose alone or with a friend...

I think that was already announced. I'll have to check...
