Here is a great video that introduces the new fighters of the game.

Which controller will you use, the Wiimote or the classic controller?
I'm gonna miss the the right "C" stick on Gamecube, was very useful with Marth :D

I'm going to use my platinum Wavebird.

I'll be using my Wavebird GameCube controller. Platinum :)

The C stick is for lame people. I'm better without it.

I'll be using a GC controller as well (wired though, don't have a wavebird)... first thing I'll do is turn off the 'tap jump' in the control options :).

Isn't the C-Stick just shortcuts for uncharged smash attacks?

Gamecube controller here! Can't imagine playing a Smash Bros game without it.

They wont cancel it, they will ask you to confirm that it was an error and that you will be charged the full amount for it. If you don't confirm the new price then your order will be cancelled.

This has happened a few times on their site with the same results.

Anyone else get a $10 electronic gift card from Wal-Mart for their mistake? Of course I emailed back for an explanation of why they were not honoring their advertised price. I'm half tempted to make more of a nuisance out of myself for the next month or so to see if I can get credit for the full $30 since they advertised a price and then did not honor it. I did look and nowhere could I find any disclaimer about prices subject to change when placing the order...

of course $10 is better than nothing.

Look in the terms of use agreement under the "Order Acceptance" section. Take your $10 and smile, they weren't even obligated to give you that under their TOS. :)

Please note that there may be certain orders that we are unable to accept and must cancel. We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to refuse or cancel any order for any reason. For your convenience, you will not be charged until your payment method is authorized, the order information is verified for accuracy and your order is shipped. Some situations that may result in your order being canceled include limitations on quantities available for purchase, inaccuracies or errors in product or pricing information, or problems identified by our credit and fraud avoidance department.

And Under "Pricing Information"

While Walmart.com strives to provide accurate product and pricing information, pricing or typographical errors may occur. Walmart.com cannot confirm the price of an item until after you order. In the event that an item is listed at an incorrect price or with incorrect information due to an error in pricing or product information, Walmart.com shall have the right, at our sole discretion, to refuse or cancel any orders placed for that item. In the event that an item is mispriced, Walmart.com may, at our discretion, either contact you for instructions or cancel your order and notify you of such cancellation.

With the C stick I have a 90% chance of winning and a lot less without it.
My friends always say stop using that damn thing its unfair

It's unfair if you all suck :D

C-stick pulls off an uncharged Smash attack, but you have to quickly shift your finger down and tap it. A skilled player can pull off smash attacks rapidly using the joystick and A button, faster than the C-stick since they don't have to move their thumb down. Additionally, not using the C-stick means they can charge the Smash attack, even for just a second longer than usual.

Trust me, come up against me with your C-stick and I will smear you all over the screen :D

That may be true but I've always been told that when a print ad or mis-priced item is found at a store they are obligated to honor that price for fear of charges of false advertising or bait and switch tactics. It does seem odd that online is somehow exempt from those rules. With it's more transient nature you'd think the errors would be faster to correct, think of how much this could have cost them and other stores with price matching policies had this been done in a Sunday newspaper ad.

They are only obligated if they printed the price with the intention of doing something fraudulent, or if they knowingly mis-priced it in order to do something deceptive/illegal. If the price was a misprint/mistake which it was then there was no intentional wrong doing or deception and they are well within their rights to cancel the orders placed. This applies to any advertisement, internet, print, radio, or television.

Truth in advertising varies from state to state, but they basically all cover you if the ad was deceptive or fraudulent, not if the ad was mistakenly priced. Had Wal Mart kept your order and then billed you $49.99 when it shipped that is a violation of truth in advertising, but since they realized their error and cancelled the order they have done nothing illegal.

If you can prove that the ad cost you monetarily or somehow interfered with your daily life/caused you emotional damage you may have a case for negligence, but seeing how its just a video game I don't believe you would get very far :p

At least you can use that $10 to pre-order the game and get it for $39.99, thats better than them just canceling it and giving you nothing, which they could have legally done.

How can people decide about controls they haven't even used? Play games, stop speculating. Maybe the new controls will rock and allow even more once used to them? Only a few folks know...and most on these boards aren't those folks.

Why do people demand people remain undecided about such trivial things? Seriously, it isn't like it matters what controller they "decide" upon today.

Because Smash Brothers was built upon the Nintendo analog controller. Smash Brothers introduced it and Melee pretty much perfected it. I'll tell you right now, nothing is going to match the comfort and accessibility of the GC control scheme for a Smash game. I could get into more detail, but Smash veterans will know what I mean.

Yea I'll try our the new controls, they might be fun, might not. In the end it will ultimately be my Wavebird that I use.

Tee-Hee that AT is going to be mad :D
Reminds me of the old multiplayer switchboxes on Sonic 2, oooh they were a pain for people who ran ahead like me.

I can't quite believe the level of fandom this game has.... It's a good game but this level of devotion for a game where each character has all of about 6 moves leaves me baffled ?

And yes I did play it lots on the cube but still..... it's only a game.

I'd much prefer Pikmin 3 or finally a new Pilotwings... Now that would get me excited. :p

Mad, innit!

I think it's just the blend of platform traditions meets fighter. Double jumping, platforms, items. Plus the combo system is very dynamic and blocking is more than just holding the away direction.

I mean Nintendo only jumped into the fighting fray with Smash Bros and they've only made 3 proper fighting games so far but they're of extremely high quality. I rate Smash Bros as my best Nintendo franchise. They're just very good at multiplayer and it all seems to culminate at Smash.

I also think it is because it has a much more forgiving learning curve. A lot of people who just resort to button mashing can actually try to think during this game.

Smash Bros is, in my mind, the pinnacle of skill-based games. A veteran fighter can utterly cream a button masher with no problem- every character handles slightly different, the balancing is nearly perfect IMO, and it's fast. Yet the controls are simple enough for a newbie to pick up and get in to.

I'm not as good at them but I've been studying players like this: http://youtube.com/watch?v=7lIcE_-tWv8

Watch that whole vid and finish it, it's amazing :D
