So how long before Apple plugs this hole? 4.1, or a possible 4.0.2? With this current jailbreak using Safari, Apple's probably going to be very motivated to fix it sooner rather than later to avoid other potential security threats. I just hope that comex and his partners have other exploits ready for the inevitable iOS update.

I have a feeling it'll be an rushed fix with 4.0.2 as it's a remote vulnerability in every single iPhone. This isn't your usual exploit. This exploit can be used by malicious websites. I believe the dev team have another exploit saved up. They had a vote and decided to use comex's first.

The jailbreak is done on your phone, nothing to do with iTunes.

Oh I know, I just remember with spirit, when the new version of itunes came out there was a warning that if you hadnt jailbroke with 3.1.3 yet and were going to with spirit you couldnt have the newest version of itunes if you ever wanted to sync

The modmyi link doesn't work for me either.

Mines not working either. I closed safari once, and tried getting it showing downloading the video on engadget. Weird. Its probably downloaded 1000000x at one time. haha.

How about try clearing history, cookies, and cache? Had the same problem until I cleared up and jailbreakme started working. It could be just a coincidence

That was because Spirit used the iTuneshelper daemon to communicate with the phone (as does any software on the pc or mac) and Apple update iTunes to stop that. You can safely install the new iTunes for this jailbreak.

I have an issue with my SMS. I don't remember which app or repo I installed but ever since I installed it my text that I send are like at 50% opacity and the other person's are at 100%. I would like mine to be back at 100% as well. Is anybody familiar with this? or could possibly tell me how to fix this?

Success on my iphone 4 iOS 4.0.0 via www.jailbreakme.com, once I got Cydia, I power cycle the iphone (previously did an itunes backup and SHSH's via tinyumbrella OS X) and MMS works, Facetime works, everything works except BossPrefs. BossPrefs keeps self terminating. I had alot of old ipas that I needed to get their updates. But Installous and Appsync 4.0 worked.
