I put the Otterbox Commuter I ordered from Verizon on my iP6 this morning, and within 5-minutes I could tell that it wasn't for me. Just the small bit of added bulkiness it gives to my phone is enough to make it more difficult for me to operate it one handed...which it the reason I opted for the 6 in the first place.

So...I'm back to the Apple leather case. It's a tad more slippery than the same one that I ran on my iPhone 5, but it works and looks sexy.

Just got my defender (to be put on when visiting grandchildren). Only left on for a couple of hours and could definitely see slight mark where tape is over home button. wiped away but concerned about long term wear. Will think about it but will probably return and wait for Lifeproof.
Also as previously noted buttons are very stiff. Hmm. Genuine case as ordered straight from Otterbox website.

Off topic but you finally updated to iOS 7??
Not by choice.

My iPhone 5 had a bulging battery. It was pushing the screen up past the frame. So, Apple replaced it. Unfortunately, the replacement came with 7.1.2.

Which I hate.

With extreme prejudice.

Took the Commuter back for the Symetry. A much better case. The Commuter has an awkward fit with its own rubber and plastic parts. I like the once piece model of the Symetry.

That is. Seriously ugly

No this is true ugly

I don't like the looks of my otterbox but the rubber is needed for grip and the flaps keep the sawdust out of the charging port and headphone hole. cleaning them daily was getting really old.

Wow, that is not okay.... Holy cow...

For those of you that have used the Symmetry case....how grippy is it? One thing I really liked about Speck Candyshell cases were that they had a really good grip on the back of the case while at the same time was still easy to slide into and out of pockets and such. But since Speck doesn't look like they're going to be releasing any cases for the plus anytime soon that don't look like garbage then the Symmetry case is looking quite attactive.

Because some people work in the blue collar industry....like construction and they don't want to break their expensive phone.

Personally, I would love an Otterbox Commuter style case with the rubberized backing of the Defender. That would be my ultimate case.

had a symmetry on my 5s and it had a nice grip

I was thinking about it but changed my mind. Not due to the ugliness but the face that otter box quality has gone down hill.

It sure has. I returned the defender i6 model because it was way too bulky and the buttons were almost impossible to press. Using the Pelican Protector from AT&T and its a good case. Very interested in the new Speck MightyShell that Best Buy will stock when its released.

Thanks for the info. Right now I'm thinking my front runner for my 6+ is the Symmetry in dark blue. Just need Otterbox to release the damn thing. lol

I'm going to have to stop by the AT&T (/shudder....can't stand AT&T) store to check out the Pelican cases....very intrigued by them even if they aren't the most attractive cases. I've used their cases in the past with very expensive electrical testing equipment....and if their phone cases are of the same quality as the cases I have used previously then it's a strong possibility that it will be the case I go with instead of the Otterbox Symmetry.

Or I can just get both if I like both. Likely what I'll end up doing. lol

Yeah worth your trip to AT&T. The Symmetry got a bad review on youtube along with a bad mention (no review just yet) for the Commuter. Its done by the guy from Canada - I think is mobilereviews-eh.ca

Thanks for the heads up on that review. I'll have to keep an eye out for more like it. I did notice that he said the back of the Symmetry is rather slick and makes one handed use difficult....not very encouraging.

Sigh....guess I'll be heading to AT&T for sure this weekend to check out the Pelican cases. Just wish they were available through other stores.

Glad I could point you to some other opinions. As far as AT&T store, just hold your nose!!

Had the Symmetry for the 6 and it was definitely too slippery and awkward. Otterbox dropped the ball all around this time. Speck Cabdyshell Grip has been great.

Question!

Since not many good cases (or good colors for certain cases) have been released and I drop my phone very often, I would really want to avoid having my phone going around naked (Getting my iPhone 6 tomorrow). Can I just buy an otterbox at Best Buy for good protection then return it later if I keep it in good shape once good cases come along?? Thanks!

Sure. BB return policy is 15-days or 30-days for members.

I too like the Candyshell Grip - had it for my IP5. Got a Pelican Protector in white/black on my I6 now. Its semi-flexible for good drop protection. On the Grip, does it bend like the IP5 ones? That has me concerned since I haven't seen one in person yet.
