Rumors all seem to be saying 'delay' Probability is high now the question is how long two weeks , a month or what

All I can say is I hope all this is worth the wait. And hopefully it will be

iPhone 8 and 7S/7S+ is such a lame product cycle. iPhone 8 will be so scarce, and the premium features will be so walled off, that the wait will hardly be worth it. It will sweet but also major PITA.

Remember how long until Siri was unleashed? Or Touch ID to other apps?

They will do this because they know there are many who want every iPhone... so after a couple months with iPhone 7S, those people will buy iPhone 8.

Having said that, this may be the first time I don't upgrade right away.

I dunno. They've not had a thing to say about an "s" model phones and we usually would have lots of leaks on those. All the leaks are on the "8" or X or whatever they're calling it.

If they wait to release a 10th anniversary phone, that'd be kinda weak.

So....

* Ships later than the 22nd
* No Touch ID
* Weird looking notch thing
* $1,000 price tag
* Wireless charger won't be fast charging
* Charger in box is apparently just a standard speed charger

All of the above are obviously rumors, but if they become true then it's really discouraging and make the Note 8 look very appealing.

the note8 is actually impressive looking in person and after being on iphone since the 4 along with this style of OS even before that with the ipod touch, I am not entirely opposed to a breath of fresh air if the presentation this week is not attractive.

plus android has chompsms and iOS has been bereft of bitesms for years now while apple insists their skeleton messaging app is the best and shouldnt allow the user to replace it.

i could be convinced to jump ship for at least a year.

I'm in the same boat.. waiting until the 12th. If im not impressed, I'm jumping to the Note 8. A big screen, with some minor improvements wont be enough this time Apple...

However for the Note 8, the S-Pen is amazing to me.. The 'on the fly' note taking ability on the lock screen would be so useful for day to day stuff.

That means I'm buying the 7s plus in the interim and then 8 when it arrives.

Why? That's like a 2 month interim...

Yeah I doubt you will be jumping to the Note 8 bud. Everyone talks like this until the event is actually shown, then are complaining about how Fedex hasn't updated your tracking for your new iPhone...

yeah i doubt you will know anything about how he feels bud. perhaps there does exist a person who gets bored with what they have.

as of the past few years the only thing keeping me with apple is icloud integration between my apple devices and how much money ive spent on the app store.

I'm going to be pretty irritated if I get this new iPhone in October or November and next year they tell me I'm not eligible for my iPhone Upgrade Program swap until October or November.
Don't worry too much, because if you are on Apple's upgrade program, the iPhone X/Pro/Edition won't be included in that promotion. (Well, not without a stiff upgrade/offset fee, at least). The "next" yearly iPhone after the 7 is the 7S, not the Edition, and in all likelihood the Edition/X/Pro is almost going to be like a collector's item anyway, as other's have mentioned.

This is pretty to you?! haha Enjoy, buddy.

I guess the Note 8 being able to use a stylus is the next few years "gimmick" until Apple does it... just like this year OLED all of a sudden stopped being a gimmick.

Enjoy your ugly camera bump ("Flush camera is *such* a gimmick, you know").

Makes sense. First wave of releases: iPhone 7S, discounted 7 and discontinued 6S. Then comes a very expensive 8/X and people still buy it, as it is special & revolutionary. If 7S & 8/X released at the same time and depending on the price difference, the sales of one model can really be affected, like “7S is not looking too different from the previous ones” or “8 is way too expensive!”. We’ll see on Tuesday.

I think the black front looks a million times better. Not sure how or why Apple could go with a white front, especially when the design is supposed to be "bezel free".

I do spend all my time looking at the front of my phone, so the camera doesn't rell effect me. hat's not meant to sound sarcastic, just that the back of my phone doesn't really matter. I also use a Nexus one for work and I have had people comment on the back being unpretty; I honestly don't care because I don't look at it hardly ever either.

I'd say the S pen has some benefits but I wouldn't think it would be very useful for me. I no longer find myself needing to take notes, I don't ever edit images and video, and so it would just be a feature used sparingly, if at all. Certainly not something I wish didn't exis, but I am indifferent.

I guess what I am say is we all have different needs and wants and tastes. I realize you were respoinding to someone saying the S8 is ugly, but still, I think sometimes we lose prespective. IMO we know enoughabout the new pones to decide whether to buy an s8 or wait for iphone. I prefer vanilla android myself, so I will be waiting but have always found samsung hardware to be top notch. Even when people complained about a "cheap feel" to the plastic housing, I thinought they always felt like solid phones. The only phone that ever beat that (and still was plastic) was Nokia with their Lumia line.

Yep. I have a 6S and I'm fine skipping this touch-ID-less $1000+ phone. Plus I prefer to have the "S" models. You miss out on the fun of the new design, but you get it refined and perfected.

I also have a 6S and I'm wondering now if I should buy this OLED iPhone by Feb/Mar. 2018 when I believe stock will be sufficient for someone to walk into an Apple Store and walk out with one or wait another 7-9 months for the 2018 model which could mark the return to "normal" for the iPhone lineup, maybe with Touch ID "returning", integrated into the display. I got my 6S in Dec. 2015 so three years would be okay by me. I'll have to see how strong the temptation is.

Plenty of people move back and forth from phones makes and models. It's just how it is. Unless you have a photographic memory I think it's impossible to say that a tangible number of people will say they aret getting the phone and end up getting it anyway. I have read this claim before but haven't really ever been presented by evidence that backs it up.

When the 7 was announced I was one that said I wouldn'tupgrade. Nothing there for me. Of course the hecklers were all saying that I woiuld cave. Some even insisted their would be tangible differences in performance and etc. Well, here I am with my 6s plus after nearly two years. What's even wilder is my wife got the 7 and there indeed were no tangible performance differences.

So anyway, just here to add my experiences to the mix. Not everyone is so stuck on iphonethat they need the latest and greatest yearly, if at all.

If they dump touchid in this model I doubt it ever comes back. It just doesn't make too much sense to dot that. Of course, anything is possible, but apple typically doesn't remove things only to bring them back later.

Apple's been doing a lot of over-promising and under-delivering over the last couple years. Becoming a bit disillusioned as of late. Even briefly considered a Note 8, but (fortunately for Apple) I have too much invested in Siri/HomeKit, my Apple Watch, etc., to change to a different phone platform.

and this is the reason why they don't give a f about moving forward at fast pace. sadly thats also why i won't leave just yet

iPad shuffle button glass back for the newest iPhone , removing color for new iPhone just to bring back those colours remove all ports except one usb for original air then bring more back sure it doesn't happen often but they do bring stuff back when they see fit

Speaking of case makers, I wonder how many have cases ready to go to market, once the phones were officially announced. There could be a lot of people with a $1200+ naked phone ...
Of course, Apple's official cases will be in stock right next to the "7s" and "Edition" iPhones. And the other case makers are one of the reasons we always see high quality mockups of the iPhone in the month before release - the case makers are trying to get the most (likely) accurate models, to build their cases around, to have them ready to ship as soon after launch as possible - if you get your case on the market a week or two before your competitor, that could bring in a huge number of sales.
