OMG...Amazon 20% coupon on NEW Macbook Airs

You have until 12:59PM PDT on Monday to get the coupon code from a Kindle w/Special Offers. The coupon expires on September 8. On the first page of this thread is a link to the promotion page. There are 12 Macs that quality. I think the base quad-core 15" is one of them (there's a $1799 15" MacBook Pro on there).

All you need for the discount is the code.
To get a code you need to own a Kindle Special Offers version...
... or you can go to eBay and buy a code. Lots for sale last I looked.
Is it possible for me to order the Kindle and get the code immediately? I see the offer ends on 8/8 and I have a MBA, 13/128/4 which is supposed to be delivered on 8/8. Any way I can take advantage of this promotion?

Yesterday the first to go was the base 11" 2/64.

But the apple store has a good deal too!
I got 100 student discount, 100 printer rebate and 100 iTunes gift card from my local store, so that comes out to be 1000!
Thats just about the same price as 20% off the base 13 model from Amazon.
Obviously would rather have cash than 200 in printer and iTunes money but it still is a pretty good deal.

Press menu at the home screen then go down to special offers. Make sure the kindle is linked to your amazon account.

It's still there, you just have a 1-2 month wait for stock to be replenished. It's the top one in this list:

Just came back from Target
Thanks to whoever gave the tip on Target.
I just went to my local Target store to pick up the Kindle with Special Offers. The clerk said that they have a 90 day return policy, even if you open the box.
So I took the Kindle home, registered the product, connected to Wifi, and got the code. I saved $318 off the 13-inch MBA for a total of $1275.20. Unfortunately, Amazon says it won't ship until September. Hopefully, they will get more laptops in the meantime.

I just contacted Amazon, and told them I had a normal kindle, and that I'd like to convert it to a special offer kindle to get this coupon. They told me it wasn't possible, but they sent me the code anyway. This is awesome! I love Amazon!
I'm gonna buy a MacBook air soon, and this is an awesome coupon.
Edit: you might want to try, but I find Amazon's customer service pretty random. For example, some people got additional credits for the $40 ps3 mistake awhile ago, while others didnt.
Appreciate your post. I tried this last night and received a code this morning. Would never have thought of emailing them if it weren't for you.
I know a number of people didn't receive one but it is possible. I just don't think getting lucky and contacting a nice CSR has anything to do with it. I think it has more to do with them reviewing your history and determining if it is worth making a loyal customer happy.
I've been an Amazon customer since 2005 purchasing everything from iPods to video game consoles and also have a registered Kindle with a number of purchased books.

Talked to Amazon about the return policy of the Kindle. Specifically asked what would happen if I used the coupons and returned it. She said that was allowed as Amazon stands by their Kindle and that it will convince me to keep it.
Ordered it last night around 6pm and it is now in my hands with next day shipping. Going to play around with it for a month and see if I like it.
Other than that, so happy to save $267

Amazon just puts in those dates as a placeholder. Actual time will likely be within a week or two.
