Target Return Policy

I just spoke with the local Target customer service desk. As long as you have the receipt and original packaging a Kindle can be returned within 90 days.

Can anyone clarify if:

1) you must request the coupon code AND order the laptop by Monday night?

or

2) you must request the coupon code by Monday night, but you can order the laptop sometime AFTER Monday night? Does the coupon code have an expiration?

Coupon expired September 8 as long as you already redeemed it from the kindle.

You only have up to TOMORROW to redeem the code, however.

I got the promotional code and it says "Complete your order before this promotion expires at 11:59 pm (PDT) Thursday, September 8, 2011."

So it's not August 8th?

However, a much bigger problem is that Amazon has removed most of the MacBook Airs from the eligibility list. According to Amazon, models may or may not be returned to the list in the future.

Does anyone have any information regarding Amazon's MBA availability other than what I have written? Neither of the MBAs that I was considering are currently available...

What are you talking about? If you go to the link: http://tinyurl.com/amazonkosapple

Most of the new Airs are still listed. Just apply the code and you're golden for 20% discount.

Which MBA are you looking for? They have both 13" model as well as the higher end 11" model available. No $999 model in this list, however.

Tomorrow is the deadline to redeem the code from the Kindle.
Once you get the code, you have until September to use it

I just ordered the newest edition 11.6 128GB yesterday. It wasn't on the list at that time. And I did get the 20% off in addition to the already lowered price of $1139 instead of $1199. I just went looking for the listing, found it and put it in the cart, checkout after entering the code. I did not see the one I really wanted which was the 11.6 with the 256GB.

To get the 20% off it has to be sold by Amazon, whether it's on the official eligible list or not. At this moment, the base 11" is not available from Amazon itself. I see Datavision, J&R and AJ Wholesale.

so, it's not a price drop?

There are 4 models of Kindle current gen
1. Kindle Wifi w/ Special Offer and Ads - $114
2. Kindle Wifi + 3G w/ Special Offer and Ads - $139
3. Kindle Wifi normal - $139
4. Kindle Wifi + 3G normal - $189

#1 and #2 is the two that can get you this deal =) Usually people go with #1 if you don't plan to keep the Kindle. If you want to get Kindle with 3G AS WELL AS this 20% deal, make sure you are buying the #2 (Wifi + 3G with Special Offers) and not #3 because #3 doesn't come with the special offers.

Bought one today

Just got home from target with my new kindle special offers. Gonna register it to get my code. This is awesome!

do you still get the $100 gift card and free $99 printer, with buying an mba thru Amazon?

Not as far as I know. And a "free $99 printer" is no more "free" than a "free puppy" -- care and feeding will cost plenty. ;)

I got my dad a Kindle today and clicked on the email me the code link but it has been an hour and I still have not received the code yet. Is anyone else having the same problem?

I was using Amazon's OS search and Lion models are not included. I found the Lion MBAs that are currently available so I edited my post accordingly...

Gotcha... It seems that only the laptops that are being sold by Amazon officially is eligible for this deal. The $999 is being sold by 3rd party.

How can Amazon afford to do this?

This is an interesting question and I also thought about this yesterday.

First of all, quite a number of people "purchased" Kindle to get this deal (or any other good deals they did from KSO previously). Those figures will contribute to their top line.

Now, let's consider the mid-average price of laptop sold nowadays (obviously there are some models at $699 and some at $2000)... Let's say around $1200. 20% discount of that is about $240.

Wifi only KSO is $114 and Wifi+3G KSO is at $139.

Amazon is basically giving away a 10% reduction in price of laptop after their revenue from Kindle. These "Special Offer Kindles" are probably subsidized by those advertisers too!! Making it a lot cheaper per unit.

Now, not everyone who bought Kindle and use the code will actually return it... secondly, being the internet superstore, they most likely have a good distributor discount on those laptop anyway. So instead of giving away 10% discount, they probably only give out < 5% discount per laptop from their cost

Amazon Will Sell More Kindles And eBooks, That's How...

I was planning on returning the Kindle but it turns out that my wife likes it. She has been using the Kindle app on her iPad but there are advantages to using a Kindle e.g. size, weight, reading in bright light.

Amazon gave me a Coupon without even buying an ad kindle. I think they have another motivation.

I haven't seen it mentioned, but Walmart's return policy on e-readers is 15 days with receipt. I saw it posted in customer service, and I called later and asked a csr to verify

Thinking about purchasing a 17" to resell on ebay or craigslist. My mother has been asking me to buy her a Kindle for ages...

damn. august 30-september 15 is a pretty bad time frame.

im REALLY hoping it ships earlier but who knows man. :(
