I wouldn't get my hopes up. I suspect the 13" is more in demand. I also bought a base 13" then, too, for my wife and I received no such email.
The earlier ship date is just more proof the 11" crew is the superior group
Ahh! I hope I get some good news too! I unfortunately ordered mine yesterday though.. Even decided to fork over the 39 dollars for Amazon Prime to get two day shipping..
I see it. I'm waiting for the 128 though. Even after the 20% discount its almost $300 more than the 128. The rest of their computers are about $50 or so less than retail. The 13/4/256 is $6 below retail. MacMall has it for $90 less so buying it here is cheaper but not as much as the others.

Out of stock is different. You can expect to wait two weeks to receive the laptop.
I agree. The price difference between the 128 and the 256 is pretty wide.
had to shell out the extra cash though. making this my primary instead of my 2.2 15". But yeah, would never pay the retail 1599 for this.
It's there now, the 13/128 dropped from the list though.
Seems to be when a model goes to a "Sign up to be notified when this items becomes available" status, it drops from the list.

Since I ordered a kindle with special offers on friday and did 1 day shipping; however my shipping was delayed
When I contacted kindle support, they said they couldn't generate the promo code without the device. The support person assured me that there would be more upcoming offers; I'm assuming that was a standard response to placate customers. But he did offer me the 20% offer regardless if I made the order, however the base 13 model was sold out on Amazon.
Oh well; hopefully another deal like this comes out. Debating whether or not to keep the kindle with hopes of other offers.

Whoa, that sucks. Surprised the kindle didn't get to you quick since you're in CA. Amazon seems to ship allot of their kindles from right out of your back yard (Nevada).

And I had the same thinking... It seems like the deals would pay for the Kindle in a short amount of time.

I went out Friday afternoon and bought the kindle at target.

Looks like the Base 13 has been completely pulled from their website. Absolutely no mention. Cached links for the 128 redirects to the 256. Looks like I'll have to play the waiting came w/ the code. A month is awhile, but still... it'll go by quick if Amazon only get a shipment ever week or two of Airs. I don't like the idea of only have 2-4 chances to get it

Same here, go figure. Also I like that I'm not limited to Amazon; I'm able to take stuff I buy from Fictionwise and download in MOBI format to put on the Kindle as well as on my iPad. Overdrive claims they'll support Kindle later this year -- that's something the Nook has over Kindle, support for borrowing ebooks from your public library via Overdrive. iPad supports it as well via the Overdrive app.
That's new in the last hour or so. Plus the 13/256 went from backordered but orderable to "notify me when in stock" (which is where the 13/128 was)
I am REALLY glad I went out and bought a retail KSO on Friday instead of ordering one online w/ next day delivery and waiting for it to show up today.
