I wouldn't believe any of the delivery dates they are giving until they actually give you a tracking number. I ordered a 13/4/128 before the promo came out. It was supposed to be delivered on Aug 8. Then the delivery was changed to Aug 12. Now the delivery was changed to Aug 15. I had the discount applied to my order but without the computer it's meaningless. In the meantime I had bought the same machine from Apple when I couldn't even place an order for the machine on Amazon (late July). Had originally planned to keep it but the price difference is too much to justify. I will now have to return the machine to Apple and wait for my new computer.

I shipped my i7 13" back on Monday, got the email that the refund had been processed yesterday. I'm in the same boat as you. The total difference in price between my Amazon total and the Apple total was $522. I just couldn't justify spending that much more money to have something NOW that's only marginally faster. I can wait the one or two months it takes ;)

So glad I put in the order for the high-end 13" MacBook Air when I did. Not only did I get 20% off, but I got it off the $1549.99 sale price. It is now back up to $1594.

Question:

Was thinking about snagging one of these coupons off of ebay.

Was a little unclear about whether or not the laptop actually has to be in stock before the expiration date of the coupon on Sept 8? For example, the macbook air (13 inch) is out of stock (as we all know) right now. If I place my order now, am I good? Or does it have to come back in stock before the 8th and ship out and charge my card before the 8th to get the discount??

Can anyone clarify?

Also: can anyone confirm that they purchased a coupon off of ebay and successfully used it?

I tried chat support this morning and they had Kindle support call me. Kindle support pulled up an article that said as of August 9, the number of eligible laptops had been reduced. They would NOT help me beyond offering one of the laptops from the new list. They even pointed out the new list had one of the old MacBook Airs.

I don't know whether this was in the tech support article or not - but he also said the offer would likely repeat or be revised once they had more laptops available. We'll see.

I'll see on my code for a while a see what happens.

What's up with people sleeping on this unprecedented deal and then complaining when Amazon pulled it?

this is what it says if i try purchasing a MBA 13/256 now on amazon with the code... is any one else getting this ?

There was a problem
The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase.

They pulled the Apple laptops from the promo. No longer eligible for the discount.

I thought price of the 13 air 256 i5 was 1275? thats what everyone else including myself paid, just curious

Last night when I had the 20% discount applied, the list price of the 13 Air 256 was $1549, so the final discount price was $1239. From the sound of it the list price just went back up to $1594. Still a great deal with the promotion though

Dont do it! Amazon changed their Promo Laptops and they dont include the
Macbook Airs (New model) or any other Macbook Pros anymore. I have a valid code and it wont work on Apple laptops and when I tried it on a Samsung laptop and the code works.

Also, I tried Amazon online chat twice and they said they cant honor the discount because it's not on their selected laptops (http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.ht..._t=1401&pf_rd_p=1314173922&pf_rd_i=1000701341).

I guess you missed the last ferry boat.

All the best,
Darren

I got the CSR from amazon to grant me the promo last night and the estimated time is September 12 thru semptember 27. Do you guys think it'll really take that long for them to ship it out?

No longer. If you read the previous post, people are getting their shipping information updated. Mine is due next week when it was originally End of August - Mid September.

Oh ok cool I really hope it's sooner... I was confused cuz yesterday when i ordered it said they had 2 11" MacBook airs in stock and it still says the same thing I thought it would go down to 1.

But did you get your coupon code via Ebay or through a paid kindle registered to your amazon account?

I went out and got a kindle.. but since i was going to buy it last night it was no longer working so i had to do the whole customer service thing with 4 different reps for about 3 to 4 hours.
