Who knows, but I probably wouldn't recommend it. Don't know if Amazon keeps on top of returned kindle SKUs/kindles being unassociated from your Amazon account. Big picture: I just don't think it's worth taking the chance of getting your laptop order canceled prior to it get shipped out due to a kindle return (especially if the Airs are back ordered for 1-2 months).

Do you get 20% off on only one item or on your whole order?

20% off a single laptop in your cart (I believe). I got some odd error when I was looking at other Airs after having one already loaded in my cart.

e: unsure, maybe someone else can confirm?

Convinced my mom to get the kindle with special offers... She's been wanting one for awhile now anyway. Gonna get the 13" Air for $988 with no tax, and 24 month financing. ;) Couldn't be happier.

Picked up the 17" macbook pro. Saved $609.00!!!!!!!!

MSRP $2499
On sale for $2315
Save 20% - $463.00

TOTAL: $1891 free shipping no tax.

BAM!

I hate to ask...but if anyone happens to have the 20% discount code/coupon - I would greatly appreciate it if you could PM it to me. I'll PayPal you $25 for it....

I'm in the Military overseas and I can't go out and purchase a Kindle...I would have to have it shipped from amazon to my APO Box account and that would cost me an additional $20 or so to do that....

So, if anybody does have a code....would love to use it tonight! $25 via PayPal after I place a successful order.....

Mike

Just got the 4gb/256 model for $992! Awesome deal! I wish I could've used it on my macbook pro I got a couple months ago... would've saved 400+ :/

amazon don't sell any custom configurations, the mbp models u cant pick between matte or glossy and so forth

A normal kindle is $139 and has no ads(it won't work for this). The special offers kindle is $114 and it is the one that you need if you want this deal.

Actually, the Kindle Special Offers WiFi is $114. The Kindle Special Offers 3G+WiFi is $139.

What is your plan for the Kindle now? I'm thinking of doing this, but the reason I want the air is for the purpose of the Kindle. I don't really like the idea of the ads either. Are you going to use it? Sell it? Give it to a family member?

The ads only show on the screensaver when you turn it off. No ads inside or in books.

I don't plan on using the Kindle but I'll probably keep it for future deals. Recent ones were for 20% off on HDTVs and 25% off on digital cameras. You can save hundreds of dollars on a single purchase, just like with the current Macbooks deal.

This is what I'm thinking of doing. It's a real shame amazon doesn't carry the high res 15"

I was going to get the i7 from the Apple store since it was a $100 more, but the amount saved on this deal just made the i7 not worth it (for me).

MBA 13" i7, 256gb (Apple store) $1,699.00
Tax 140.16
Total $1,839.16

MBA 13" i5, 256gb (Amazon) $1,275.20
Cost of Kindle $124.48
Shipping (1 day Prime) $3.99
Total $1,403.67

Dollar savings $435.49
Percent Savings 24%

Reported performance
increase of i7 vs i5 on 13" model
7%

From what I've read, the i7 is a substantial boost on the 11" model, though.

Edit: I had my numbers all nicely lined up, but I guess that doesn't translate to the post, or I just don't know how to do it. Oh well.
