I think I got the last 11.6 4/128. The original link to the 11.6 4/128 now goes to another vendor.

Thanks for the info OP. I had to run to Walmart but I saved over $200.

Oops. Now showing back up as available from Amazon...

Where? I don't see the 11.6" 4/128 being offered by Amazon directly at this moment.

When I click on "2 new" under the AJ's Wholesale page for the 11.6 4/128, it comes up with Amazon being 1 of the 2 new.

Ah...see it now. But you apparently did get the last one in stock at Amazon. Doing what you said above shows that the Amazon.com shipping is at "one to two months". Damn you! lol. I've got to wait till 6:00 to go to Best Buy and pick up a Kindle.

(1) Kindle is actually $114, and you have a Kindle now, or you can sell it
(2) What is the BestBuy -$100 and $100 gift card? Are these educational discounts at all, which would only apply to students?
(3) Good for you that you have a tax-free weekend, not everyone does.
(4) Amazon already gives a decent discount on some models, such as about $60 off on the 11"/4GB/128GB.
(5) I think the 1-2 month shipping can be safely ignored, IMO. I ordered my MBA this week and it said 1-2 months at the time, and it arrived today.

So yes, this deal might not be the best, or at least substantially better, for you, but for many of us it is fantastic.

Your right on Amazon's shipping time frame. I had ordered a MBP from there once and it wasn't in stock. Said it would be a month. Three days later I got an email stating it was shipping the very next day. I think Apple doesn't tell Amazon when they will get them, so Amazon has to put the lead time far out in advance. If it does come in sooner, the customer won't complain. I bet I get mine within 2 weeks.

I found out about this from Slickdeals and came to post it but apparently y'all know about it already. This was my very first time using Slickdeals and I went to Target to buy the Kindle. May return it but the wife may want the Kindle. Had some change at the house that I just used Coinstar to get Amazon GC with and had nearly $100 rewards from my Amazon CC. Total was under $500 with this deal for an 11' MBA with 4gb RAM and 128SSD. So stoked right now!

it's $250+ not 100-150..in most places

$1250 plus tax and you get a $100 gift card at best buy..you can't apply the gift card to this purchase afaik. Anyway, that makes it ~1360 with gift card vs $98x shipped. The cash difference is almost $400, if you want to take the gift card into account it's still almost $300 - $250 if you factor in the kindle cost and resale at a measly $70

You're probably right. I did include BB Reward and all counts.

Any way, I went out and got the Kindle. I was thinking about getting a Kindle long time ago and now could get both, and still save. Could not be happier.

My est shipping is around 9/1-9/21

No I didn't read the whole thread. It is the right one and I did figure it out. So your wild guess was wrong. Great deal! Between the gift cards I had and the 20% I paid $960 with next day shipping. Thanks a lot OP!!

Well then in that case I don't feel as bad about being a jerk to you, since you got a great deal :p

What am I missing?

13" MBA i5/256GB/4GB:

Amazon(with this deal): $1598-20% +$125 for kindle + $4 prime shipping = $1410 with MBA in my hand in 1-2 months.

BestBuy: $1599-$100-$0 tax(no tax weekend here in NC) = $1499 with MBA in my hand right away AND a $100 BB GC.

Assumptions:
1. I have to buy the kindle and do not need it except for this coupon
2. My local BB has one in stock - I got it this way

sadly, i don't think i can make this work well enough for me either, but for others, this is an INSANELY GOOD deal.

i envy you guys, but congrats!

Hey, I have been looking around and can't find an answer on this. My father inlaw has one of the special offer kindles and he said he would send me the code, but I need to tell him how to get it. Can someone help me by explaining in terms I can convey to him of how to go about this?

Thanks for the help!

On the Kindle I bought for this promo it was an ad on the bottom of the screen. I clicked in it and it asked if I wanted the coupon emailed to my account. I did that and the email was at my email in 2 seconds. Easy as that.

If anyone has a code, I'd be willing to pay you $25 through Paypal for it. Send me a PM. I've already ordered my air, and it's supposed to come between the 10th and 13th, so I'd need to cancel my order soon.

Not to be mean or anything, but people are selling them on ebay for $50.

Just buy a Kindle for $114 at Target and use the code. Even if you don't want the Kindle you still save money and if you dont like the Kindle just return it. The lady at Target told me there is no restocking fee and I have 90 days to return it.

I guess my chance of receiving a code from one of you good fellows is slim now :(

I would if I could, but the code is good once only per Kindle device and I used mine. I suspect this is the wrong thread to be posting in... ;)

Another option is there's a bunch of codes on ebay, they seem to sell for around $45 or so last I looked. So $200 to $300 savings at the cost of a $45 code seems like a no brainer.

50? More like freaking 100 dollars. That is getting very close to price of kindle itself. After you give out code, and you sell one. You almost make up for the price you paid for kindle. Kindle with ads only costs 114 dollars.

Good point -- but some would feel it is dishonest and abusing Target's generous return policies to buy it with the specific intent to use it and return it. Can't be sold as new, so someone "eats" the cost of the formerly new kindle having to be sold as openbox / used.

I'm going to either keep my Kindle or give it as a gift to someone. Probably keep it; if Amazon sends other deals as good as this (someone mentioned 25% off digital cameras, a bunch off HDTVs, etc) you might could pay for your kindle selling those codes on ebay. The Laptop 20% codes are going for $45.

Alright guys, I won't be that cheap.. I ordered me a Kindle and it should be here tomorrow to hand me that code. Then, I sale it and buy me a sweet little Air. Oh, and then sell my current Air. Oh brother, this just turned out to be a pain in the ass.

The Kindle can be useful for future deals. In the past they've had 20% off HDTVs and 25% off digital cameras. The HDTV codes were selling for large amounts on eBay.

side note: The kindle is an amazing piece of technology (if you are in fact a reader). I've owned one since the rev2 came out and have read many books on it. I'd recommend keeping it, as the new eInk screens are very easy on the eyes for long reading sessions.

It seems as if this deal alone is responsible for the 11.6" 4Gb/128Gb model to go out of stock today on Amazon. It was in stock at the time the thread was started, and during the course of the day it has sold out.

okay I think I'll buy the kindle, but for 25 bucks more, you get free 3G. Do you guys think it'll keep staying free even if the new amazon tablet gets released?

also, the code expires on sept 8th but do you think it's smart to wait til sept and order then so that I can avoid 100 dollars of tax?
