Hahaha you told an Indian person to have a good Ramadan. That's like telling an American to have a good Canada Day except with a religious connotation.

So that was with last years model? Why wouldn't you just buy a 17 and add your own ssd?

13" Airs are out of stock all over the place. Apple's shipping them as they get new ones from the factory.I'm okay waiting, but does anyone know the reason for it? I mean certainly Apple has enough laptops to give to Amazon and they don't take a month to get there.
How did this work? You just walked in with your sealed box? No receipt?
My MBA 13/4/128 shipped tonight. I ordered on August 1 and it was supposed to be delivered Aug 5. I had the KSO discount applied after my order since it didn't ship. For the two week delay I was given $50 in credit from Amazon. Final cost was $938 (34% discount from buying at Apple store.) Thank you Amazon. Good luck to everyone who is waiting for the 13".
Yup, just walked in with the sealed box. Told them it was a gift, but I really wanted a higher end model. First store checked the serial number. It didn't show up in their systems as being bought from Apple Retail or Apple Online so I was denied. At second store, I saw the salesperson scan the serial and not see a sales receipt, but he gave me credit $1199 credit anyway. That $1199 is deducted from the price of whatever product you're buying, so you're only taxed on the price difference.
There's nothing to lose with giving it a try, unless someone's the type that can't handle rejection. The worst is they'll just say no.
I was able to save a considerable amount of money.
11" i5/4/128: $1199
- $59.01 (Regular Amazon discount on i5)
- $228 (20% coupon)
- $94.05 (8.25% tax credited to $1199 Apple price)
- $100 Student Discount on 11" i7/4/256
---------------------
$481.06 saved
$1167.94 (+$28.87 tax on price difference) out of pocket for the $1649 11" i7/4/256. With 8.25% tax on the $1649, I just saved 38.61% off MSRP.
That doesn't include the free $100 HP printer I can easily turn around for $50-70 and the $100 Mac App store credit.
Oh, and HUGE THANKS to ace36 for posting this on the forums. Once I saw his post, I drove to BestBuy and bought the Kindle (which I'm keeping), set it up, and ordered a MBA off Amazon. All in less than 30 minutes.
Alright guys, I won't be that cheap.. I ordered me a Kindle and it should be here tomorrow to hand me that code. Then, I sale it and buy me a sweet little Air. Oh, and then sell my current Air. Oh brother, this just turned out to be a pain in the ass.
The MacBooks don't qualify for the promo anymore. It's been discussed in the past 20 or so pages. Unfortunately you are too late.
? the post you're quoting is from two weeks ago. i'm sure he didn't have a problem.
I think you are right. I have no idea how I ended up quoting an old post!
Is this deal still good?
Anymore 256'ers get ship dates yet?
Hmm, so even Apple stores don't have 13" Airs? Their online store says within 24 hours still.
