I called and the rep said my 13/256 ordered on 8/8 is a special order item,meaning amazon does not stock them and have to order them from "Mac" (her words) each time a computer is ordered. Obviously the rep was a moron. She also said it won't ship until after 8/31. In any case I'm starting to get pissed. I never expected to wait this long. It is clear to me that amazon would like us to cancel our orders as no other retailer has airs backordered for two weeks.

I ordered my 13/256 on the 7th and I just received my UPS tracking number a few hours ago and it will be here tomorrow. I'm sure you'll get yours real soon as well!
 
Order my 13/4/256 on the 10th when the price dropped briefly and am still waiting. Order status doesn't even have an estimate.
 
For those wondering if you can still get the promo on MBAs...

I JUST had a rep manually apply the discount on to my Amazon account... all I had to do was order and it automatically deducted from the order total.

Got the 11/4/128... says ships in 3-6 weeks... but I can wait. Probably a huge overestimate anyway. :D

It only took two chats. Lucked out and got a real helpful rep. BTW, my rep was from the Kindle department. Didn't play dumb... was just upfront and told him I understood the deal didn't apply to the MBA anymore and wanted to see if a one-time exception could be made. He did ask me when I received the code though.

So... there is still hope. Don't give up!

A friend of mine who has a kindle gave me a code. However, I don't have a kindle or one registered to my name. Do you still think they would apply it?

My order for that model was put in yesterday morning with the same estimate. It shipped out today and I'll be getting it tomorrow. Too bad I'll be at Virginia Beach when it's delivered to my job. At least I don't have to wait until next month.
 
The new estimate for 256 MBAs is September 9-24.
Also I got free 1 day shipping. Just be nice to the reps, I doubt they have easy jobs!

EDIT: Just checked my order total. I got 1 day shipping absolutely free! Actually just saved $15 more because I was getting 2 day shipping(not prime).

He did take a look at my account...

Not sure if they have some sort of procedure/checklist to figure out if "OK, he's good" or "Can't do it". Code is probably worthless right now... unless they ask for it for verification purposes. Looks like they just apply the discount manually on their side.

Probably better off having everything "legit" and squared away though (linked account, offer email) to increase your chances... and if you're lucky you might get a rep that will work FOR you.

"Thank you, I am going to advocate and see what we can get done tonight for you. Really appreciate your patience while I am working on this as it may take a couple of minutes."

Just got done chatting, no updates and no shipping upgrades. I'll chat again tomorrow to see if I get an update over a textbook response
 
:rolleyes: Two weeks since we all ordered, and everyone can't stand the waiting..... Whats up with that? I remember back in the day when we would order our stuff out of catalogs and hoped it got to us before we out grew it. Amazon has always shipped our stuff to us before the predicted date witch was 2 months when most of us placed are orders.

Order 13/128 on Aug 5th.

Prime Member, and just upgraded shipping speed to 1 day.

Delivery estimate changed from August 31, 2011 - September 16, 2011 to August 30, 2011 - September 26, 2011

Wondering if I should have left it alone :(
 
I ordered a 17" MBP on August 11th for $1749 and it arrived on the 15th. After it arrived, I ordered a 11" 4/128 MBA the next day for $912 and it has a delivery estimate of August 22nd-23rd :)

Debating if I should go for a third hmmm..

This shipping status on my 13/4/128 has changed to shipping soon. I'm using an 11 MBA in the interim while waiting for the 13 and now I'm not sure what would be better for my needs. The 11 is so portable. This computer won't be my primary computer. Decisions.

When did you order? Mine still shows 8/31-9/20 and I ordered in the morning on Friday 8/5.
