Shipping update: 2011 11" MBA 4GB/128GB ordered on Aug 15, shipped this evening from New Hampshire, if anyone cares lol.

Yes, it's accurate. Slickdeals is going insane over it.

http://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?t=3220862

No matter what, I can't seem to get the lower prices. They may show up temporarily, but then the $400 price reappears in the cart. Anyway, I'll try again tomorrow at 7am. If not, no big deal. I've held out this long without a tablet, and I'm normally an early adopter (I had smartphones back in 2002 and purchased the first MacBook Air, and the Rev B with an SSD). Tablets don't appeal to me as much for some reason.

Any tips on getting the discounted prices to show up? I'd love to buy this tablet for my mother.

Supposedly it will be available everywhere tomorrow for the $99/$149 prices. Try around 7am Eastern.

From HP's site, if you already have a login with an EPP code (e.g. if your company has a discount program with HP) you might be able to get the 32GB version now.

i was using the EPP code(the one publicized on slickdeals). I still see the normal price.

I'm guessing that HP closed that one down since so many people were using it. My employer actually has an EPP program of itself, and I signed up for it a while back (I'm not sure if I ever ordered anything, though), and it came up. Originally it came up at $475 but I checked about 20 minutes ago and supposedly I was able to order one for $149. I haven't received a confirmation yet, however. A few minutes later it came back as out of stock according to SlickDeals, so perhaps it's out again. Whatever happens, happens, AFAIC.

Anyway, let's let this thread return to updates on people's Amazon orders. My 11" 4/128 model that I ordered last Monday arrived today (it shipped Monday but I sent it the super slow "free" method since it will be a gift in about 2 weeks).

Was near an Apple Store today so I went inside to check out the 13" MBA again. Wow. I can be patient... Worth the wait! Looks like the shipping has reached 34 hours before my order, so hopefully next week.

And my kid's all over getting one now that he's played with Photo Booth!

BTW, anyone who ordered the 13/256 MBA before 10:30 PDT on 8/8, forget what you just read here. What I meant to say was that it's silly to pay the same for a less powerful Air when for about the same price you could have a MacBook Pro with optical drive. So go ahead and cancel your order. It's the right thing to do. :)

Is anyone else starting to think that Amazon is going to wait till September 9th and just cancel the backordered MacBook Airs? I'm kind of paranoid about this, but the internal shipping window is exactly one day after the promotion ends.

I don't think they'd ever consider doing that, Amazon's not that shady.

Seems like Amazon has dropped the price of the 13/i5/256 to 1549.99. Might be worth a shot to price match for some of you that have ordered this and still haven't shipped.

They couldn't adjust the price on mine - but said they would credit my account for the difference - which more than made me happy :)
So my price was 1594 - 20% = 1275. Now with the $40 credit its $1235!

This waiting for my 13/128 order has just about ended my patience. I have the 11/128 in my Quick Picks today for $1083. If I can convince an Amazon rep to allow me to switch my discount to it, the final price would be $866, or $125 less than my price for the 13/128.

I really prefer the 13 but I think I can live with the 11. At least it's in stock and I could have it by Monday. Assuming Amazon will work with me to change my order.

BTW, you can manipulate your Quick Picks to make sure it lists things you really want. That's what I did and today I have the 11/128 and MBP 15 in my picks. Yesterday I had the MBP 13 in the list.

Here's a good description of how to do it: http://www.mycardblog.com/2008/01/how-to-manipulate-your-amazon-quick-picks-to-save-5-more/ I would add one more step. Amazon also uses your browsing history for Quick Pick deals. On your Amazon home page click on "Bob's Amazon.com" (with your name rather than Bob, obviously) in the upper left part of the page. Then click on "Your Browsing History". The click on "Delete this item" for anything you don't want to influence future Quick Picks.

Enjoy the savings.

Just wanted to thank the contributors on this thread. I was in at the last minute to get my 11" Air. I am loving it and especially loving getting 20% off!

20% Kindle Promo can still work to purchas MBA's

Yes they did! Here's the link: Apple Macbook Air MC966LL/A 13.3-Inch Laptop (NEWEST VERSION) However, they are still on Back Order.

Today, I managed to order it and using my 20% Kindle Promo Coupon. I was rejected 4 times last week using the Chat and this time I decided to use the phone method. My Amazon CSR was Rodrick. He did check to see if my Kindle was registered, which it was then applied the 20% while the MBA was in my shopping cart. He told me to refresh the page and it would show up. It worked! :D I also applied the Kindle $5 coupon with purchases > $10 @ Amazon.com.

Here's how the invoice looks like.

My air has not shipped yet but I can return the Kindle, right?

I returned it the next day (didn't like it) after I placed my order on Amazon. No problems so far...and I even had them adjust the price down a few days after. Still waiting for my 13/i5/256gb to ship...hopefully Monday!
