Just buy a coupon on ebay. Lots of people are selling them. Don't even need the Kindle.

This is an odd question, but what if my 13" ships after my one month Amazon Prime membership expires? Currently, it's due to expire on sept 7th. At this time, I haven't decided if I will pay for it. On two-day shipping, does my order revert back to regular price?

I don't think it will, but it doesn't hurt to chat with Amazon and ask.

It will ship at the original speed. No doubt about it.

Ouch. I would think that the rep would have given a warning first. Adding items to an order so that they ship at the same time usually leads to delays which is something a rep should know.

Had Amazon reduce the price of my Macbook Air 13 inch 256gb by 50 dollars. They even ignored the 20% discount resulting in me getting a few extra dollars off as well.

Still waiting on some kind of shipping update. I'm just so impatient.

Something happened that I didn't expect, however. The kindle that I bought and planned to return once my MBA shipped died on me. Since it stopped working, I have realized how much I was in love with it. I will be exchanging it instead of returning it. Amazon's ploy worked on me.

Same here. I have a feeling they are going to cancel our orders and so for the time being they are just blindly giving discounts so that we shut up and don't complain. I certainly hope this is not the case however..

I have been with Amazon for several years and spent several thousands of dollars with them. I do not see Amazon doing something like this. I could be wrong, but I have been in similar instances before and they have never done something with such character.

Alright so couple questions
1) Would it actually work to buy a code from someone off ebay?
2) Could the code be used towards purchasing a MBP instead?

Thanks

Read a few of the recent pages. The official answer is no, but several people have had good luck.

1) maybe. They have been randomingly checking before they apply the discount. Note that you have to get a chat rep to do it for you.
2) yes

That's the feeling I'm getting too. :(

So you actually have to talk with a rep to apply the discount? you dont just enter the code somewhere?

Amazon has been known to ban customers who scam (or who tbey suspect are scamming) the system. Just Google "banned from Amazon.com".

Oh, I know. I just hope it happens en masse with this deal here and people returning the Kindle who had no intentions of keeping it or even trying it out. I REALLY appreciate Amazon doing due diligence in checking for registered Kindles.

I may sound like a fuddy duddy, but the bottom line is, I've noticed Amazon's prices creep up steadily for months now. I'm a big time Amazon consumer, Prime member, and I don't want other people's lack of ethics to affect whatever special offers Amazon might have given me otherwise.
