Correct me if I‘m wrong but AFAIR the Lightning to 3.5 is right in the box. I don‘t get why people are upset with plugging something into a cable adapter while they are perfectly fine with plugging the same cable into a Jack.
Because without buying another adapter to give you 2 lightning ports you can’t charge your phone and listen with headphones.

If Apple introduces an iPhone SE2 with a 3.5mm socket, and WWDC is less than 2 weeks away, will all the Apple "glad they got rid of it" people suddenly turn on Apple?

No, they will suddenly make excuses why a headphone jack makes sense!

Funny that.

The connector is ugly, not the products

Connector? Use wireless dude. Its 2018

Yeah, we know the date....should we be reinventing the wheel while we’re at it? It’s 2018! Chuck it in the trash!

Wireless is less reliable. Not better. Less reliable.

If you love wireless, fine. But why remove the jack??

They will add the headphone jack back in 2-3 years. If they don’t, it will eventually be the single cause of the slow decline of the company — UNLESS — major competitors also begin removing the jack. Otherwise, they are completely squeezing out their poorer customers as well as the older customers. Many can’t afford wireless earbuds, and Apple Pods, while the older generation wants nothing to do with the technology behind it.

It was a horrible decision.

You can get wireless earbuds for like $20 on amazon, heck you can even get the fully wireless ones (the earbuds are not connected via wire) for like $38. I have a set of the truly wireless ones and love them. You don't have to buy Apple's overpriced headphones.

Because the dongle is a fragile, b*llshit gesture to make people like you think that Apple is being kind and helpful.

It doesn’t allow you to use a single set of headphones across multiple devices, provides a terrible user experience, further nudging people towards buying Airpods.

Say i’m using headphones with a phone and switch to a laptop. What do I do - leave the dongle hanging from $1000 phone? Or put it on the side to easily lose?

I don’t think that Apple will include a 3.5mm jack on any new phones. To do so would be seen by others as admitting that they may have made a mistake and large companies -not just Apple but pretty much any company-would rather lose money than reconsider a decision.

They’re still disposable, they’re still liable to run out of battery, they’re still less reliable.

Why not let people use wired and wireless, wired via the industry standard, tried and tested 3.5mm jack.

But they just introduced a new iPad and iMac Pro ($5000 and counting) with this technology. And here's the thing, there nothing more honorable than admitting a mistake, move on. The devious and dis-honorable thing to do is keep ploughing on with your fingers in your ears.

And I thought the multiple devices all offer a 3.5 Jack. Stupid me.

And the reason I Go wireless is simple - wires deteriorate - admittedly often because of inadequate handling - and in the end break.

Coming from someone who bought several headphones that all started crackling sounds and signal loss over time.

I didn’t say that they shouldn’t reintroduce the 3.5mm jack, I just don’t think they will. But Tim Cook isn’t in the habit of calling me up to talk about design decisions so take that into consideration when I post what I THINK Apple will do.

Fair enough, I wish ALL people well, but since the iPhone SE never removed the jack Tim Cook wouldn't have to re-introduce it for a SE2, just saying....

Yeah, well, next time don't copy apple's dumbest design, like the notch is. Then you can make all the fun you want.

Jesus, this is long-winded. I apologize if I cover something mention, but I got bored after the first or second paragraph. Can Bluetooth stream lossless audio at full quality? Are there are ton of studio standard headphones out there that support USB C or Bluetooth?

Had Apple left the headphone jack and everyone else abandoned it, you'd be on here talking up the benefits of wired vs. wireless and how Apple's decision to keep it was "brave" (not your word, but another poster's) for including it while everyone else abandoned it.
Jesus loves you. And your post is not wrong.

You didn't need the headphone jack eliminated in order for you to use wireless headphones. This move by Apple did not advance the ball in any way at all. If anything, it was a backwards move. I use my iPhone as a MIDI source. That means the lightning port is taken up by the MIDI adapter. But, the lightning port is ALSO the only place where zero-latency sound comes out. So how am I supposed to get the audio that I'm playing out of the phone and into speakers? Bluetooth? Please. It's too slow and the audio quality pales in comparison to a wired connection.

There are legitimate use cases for a headphone jack. There really is no legitimate use case for removing it.
Is somebody forcing you to buy a device without a headphone jack?

Earlier today in the gym I was using my wired earbuds to connect to the TV monitors that are installed on bikes, treadmills etc. and I thought: "How would I do it with BT earbuds?".
you actually put thought into that?
[doublepost=1526565598][/doublepost]
I should not have to buy hundreds of dollars in additional peripherals
I don't believe you do have to. I'm sure there are plenty of options out there that would fit your specific needs.

Since using Bose Bluetooth Headphones - a once in many years investment - I came to the conclusion that a headphone jack really is obsolete.

While I love my bose, I came to the opposite conclusion. I think they needed a change over strategy that met everyone’s needs Offering dual would have been the best, until more people got blue tooth. Even now I am in countless situations where it would have been good to have a jack, and since I don’t carry a dongle everywhere I go, I have been screwed!

"Less than 2 weeks away"

Re-calculate the maths, it's 18 days from now

and they'll sound just as silly as all of the self absorbed clowns who demand companies cater to their individual needs.

Why would any design department be dumb enough to purposely follow apple with that stupid notch design?
Because the public seems to want "bezeless" phones, and there is no magic way to do that and retain a front-facing camera.

So, notch it is...
[doublepost=1526569486][/doublepost]
So? How does that make the removal of the headphone jack any less stupid? That's the single thing I absolutely hate about my iPhone 7.
And yet, you apparently bought one...
